Wait time is a hit or miss, but they're very friendly and makes sure that customers don't have to wait too long. They always let you know if they're busy so that you don't waste your time. You're able to call before hand to check if you can schedule an appointment. Kim usually waits for you until you show up! Very reasonable! What can i say but i am so happy they are open again!!! So this place is amazing the staff is great and really friendly they always seem to have time to see a customer. Now they require appointments and limit the amount of people they have in there and it smelled so clean everything is sanitized and after my pedicure the tools they used was given to me to keep for my next visit. It is really different to come here now then before covid cause everyone that came in seemed to enjoy them selfs and the laughter was good feeling now with a limit on people its quite but still very good service. Also one visit i came to before i messed up a nail and they fixed it for me and i know other places would charge to fix if it was your mistake not theirs . 3 stars Bc Kim was GREAT but there was this other lady working on my younger sisters nails who was rude and greedy. We both got pedicures, Kim did mine and was gentle included a massage and really cleaned up my toes also put a hot towel on after. My sisters technician on the other hand literally just put her feet in warm water and painted her toes and charged me for a pedicure. That's insane! I know she's young but if I pay for a pedicure, give her the WHOLE pedicure!! Kim did 3x the work so if you come here go to KIM not anyone else! I just got home. I seriously got home, washed my hands (because god knows what germs have infected the cut they gave me) and sat down to write this review. If I could give them zero stars, I would but I can't so one star and that will for the pedicure. Unfortunately, THIS WAS THE WORST MANICURE OF MY LIFE. Now, due to the economy I do my own toes and nails but since tomorrow is my engagement photo shoot I figured what the heck, let me treat myself. What a mistake. I seriously wish I had my money back because after I finish writing this review I'm going to acetone my nails and re-polish them. I don't know who did my pedi and mani. It wasn't Judy, it was some other woman who did both my mani and pedi. Mistake #1: slightly cutting my pinky. Mistake #2: cutting my ring finger to the point where it is still bleeding! 30 mins. later! And that sonofabitch hurts! Mistake #3: Messing up my thumb nail with HER finger nail, not saying anything about it and when I brought it she seriously just patched it up a gob of nail polish. It looks awful. Don't worry. I will be adding pictures. I seriously left wanting to cry. The only thing that can make me happy now is that you don't make the mistake of visiting this place. My nails are bad enough. I came in here on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment and I only had to wait for about 20 minutes which is great. They do pretty amazing work there. Jannet did my nails and did a wonderful job. I thought their prices were very fair and no one tried to up-sell me which I really appreciate. The place is a little hard to find, but I found it without too much trouble; just look for Dominos - the shop is right behind there. My only (minor) complaint is the place is INCREDIBLY small - you could fit the whole front of the shop in my living room. But other than that, I was pleased. I went to Skyy Nails this morning in search of a new nail salon that would give me quality service at a fair price. It's a small, intimate place located in the back of a shopping center on whittier blvd. There was only one other woman there, which was nice. (I don't like salons that are packed or over crowded.) Janet was the woman who did my nails and did a fair job overall. She was polite and made conversation with me as she worked on fixing my damaged nails. (I ended up getting my acrylics removed and a manicure.) The acrylic removal was $5 and the manicure was $10. Both were fair prices and I felt I got what I paid for. It was a little painful, but acrylic removal tends to be. I appreciated the nail soak/wrap before the removal to soften the gel. Janet informed me that gel was an additional $15 and a full set was $20. It wasn't a terrible job, but I wasn't impressed either and I don't feel like I would come here to prep for an important event. But if I had an hour or two to kill and an extra $10 in my pocket, I'd consider coming back. I felt like I got what I paid for, so I can't really complain when the prices were incredibly reasonable. read more

I have had my pedicures done here for awhile. They usually do a good job and the salon is very clean and the techs are friendly. I work in Uptown and the location is very convenient. A few days ago I called the day before and scheduled an appointment for a pedi the next day at 12:15pm and was told no problem, she could accommodate me. I use my lunch time to go. I arrived at 12:14pm and the owner acknowledged me by name. I could clearly see that there was no one to accommodate me as the three other patrons were not near to being finished . For the price (great value), this nail place is grrreat! It's located on Whittier Blvd., in a plaza, so it's hard to spot.... We had to turn around because we passed it the first time. Quick and tidy service! When I went in with my friend, I wanted a manicure, friend wanted a pedicure. There were three people working, and there were two customers already seated getting their nails done. The one getting a pedicure had her eyes closed and the massage chair was working its magic on her. It was relaxing, I could tell. Friend was immediately seated on one of the raised massage chairs. I waited a while for my manicurist to get to me, understandable. I noticed that the customers there had been before, and there was friendly chatter floating around. I really like the French manicure my manicurist, Amy, did. She asked me a couple times if I liked what she'd done so far. She was very polite when I asked her to file a bit more. I'll be going back for a pedicure soon since I was in a time crunch. I like Skyy Nails better than the other place I'd been going to near Vons on Santa Gertrudes... Mostly because I felt like they were always talking and gossiping about customers. This place was terrible. I was in the area and needed a pedicure, so naturally, I checked yelp for something descent. It was your standard place- nothing fancy and not too ghetto. The reason for one star? Well "Tiffany" took it upon herself to practically cut the cuticle off of my big toe off. I began to bleed and told her so and she just said "oh" and covered my wound with clear nail polish. This has NEVER happened to me at any pedicure spot so I was so mortified and embarrassed I didn't say more or protest paying. My bad. I know. But low and behold, four days later my big toe is INFECTED. It is has pus, is red, and is sore. Obviously their tools are filthy.
