I've been a fan of Slab Town since it opened. I decided to order take out to share with a friend of mine. We got a White Pizza to share and a Cesar Salad. The Pizza was delicious, but only had a little bit of sausage on a couple of pieces. Wish it had at least been spread out on the pizza a bit more. The Cesar Salad was divine as always. It seems to consistently be busy, even in the off season. It's pretty loud inside, but the booths are well spaced and they have an outdoor seating option. It's more expensive than I would have hoped, but definitely worth the try! read more

Gonna be three stars on this one. The line order wait on a Wednesday night @6pm was 45 min. That wouldn't be an issue if this was a restaurant where one is waiting to be seated, however in this establishment before entering the dining area customers must go through a kiosk line to place an order with a cashier and this night it was taking 4.5-5 min per order (we were 10th in line). The plastic silverware knocks a star off of this review. So much waste in the casing, and it couldn't even cut through the pizza. Please don't squirt ricotta. Ever. The cheese pizza for the little ones was rated by the little ones as a 3/5. The entire cheese coming off in one big lump was a downer. Sauce was a 2, dough was ok. Layout and furniture solid. The best pizza was the prosciutto and mushrooms. Points for great live music and a wonderful outdoor play area for the kids. read more

I came to this area for a day trip and decided to eat here because of the good reviews, I just got a small salad and added chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The chicken could have been a bit juicier but the berries in the salad were delicious. It was easy to park and while busy, it wasn't loud or crazy inside. We enjoyed our meal and would recommend it here. They also had lunch specials with pizza and wings which I'd like to try. read more

The pizza was top tier and extremely delicious (and kid approved). For the meal we did the Duke (think meat lovers), Supreme, Pepperoni, a Cheese pizza, and a Caesar Salad to share. The service was great/friendly, and the pizza came out to our table pretty quickly after ordering as you first enter. It was nice that they had a patio seating area with a large TV (NCAA March Madness playing), and also a cool outdoor area with seating where the kids could run and play around bites of food. This is an order at the counter, get your own drink and food delivered to your table restaurant. You are not waited on, only when your food is delivered to your table. There are several options for eating; inside seating, at the bar, a patio that is open air or heated, depending on the weather, and an outside eating area. The outside area also has chairs to relax and corn hole boards. The pizza is very tasty and any other food we have ordered has been very good. It is a little expensive, but cost is comparative to the area. We orders the lunch special that came with a single slice of pizza with wings or a cup of soup. read more

Loved the pizza here! Convenient location, lots of seating options, and prices are fair. We also had a large seasonal salad and it was delicious. Only issue we found was not enough dressing. Maybe it was the consistency but all of the oil pooled at the bottom of the bowl. Had a glass of the Chemistry Pinot noir (normally I order Cabernet, but they didn't have too many options). Large beer selection though! It looked like they had some cool family-friendly games in the yard but my two-year-old was having a fit so we didn't stay long enough to check those out. Unfortunately, when we got there around 11:40a they weren't offering service outside :( and don't allow dogs in the heated patio area so we had to take our dog home.... Pizza was good as always, we got the Duke, tried the old bay seasoning dry rub wings and those were really good! 4 stars - when we left around an hour later they were serving the outdoor patio...Not sure what changed, but we would have waited had they said it was going to be served shortly. read more

While staying in Sapphire Valley (NC) we had a hunkering for pizza. Slab Town Pizza was our answer with a descent pizza and a few drinks to-go. I would have given it a higher score, but the service is what brought it down. There was only one person working front of house to take orders for incoming diners and to-go pickup. This created a bit of backlog as one couple took nearly 10 minutes to ask questions about the food menu and then the types of beers offered. In the meantime, our pizza was sitting in a table (not a hot too). Once paid for, I was given the pizza and three cups, but not told we're I needed to go to self-serve my drinks. There was also no offer of a cup carrier, luckily I was able to balance a pizza box with three drinks and plates while opening the door to leave. Was this a potential interview for the circus? Lesson learned, eat in if you can. It looked like a very nice place that has recently expanded and been remodeled. read more

Lots of reviews saying the same thing so I will make this short: this is terrific pizza for a small town in NC or really anywhere. The crust is chewy and delicious and toppings are great. The white pizza was my favorite and to show how much this place cares they gave me a little container of arugula to put on top when I got home so it wasn't soggy. Some dingalings from NYC and other pizza capitals will knock slab town for something. But for the rest of this so much better than most pizza, including the big 3 chains, that you will be delighted to eat at Slab Town. read more

I had such a bad experience I probably won't go back. called in my order at 7:30 and person on the phone said it would be ready at 8. I went in at about 7:48 and the girl at the register couldn't find my order entered into their system. I had to place it again and she said it would be ready in 10 mins cause she would get it expedited. After sometime I spoke to someone else who said the order would be ready at 8:15. I asked the time and she said 8:09. I told her the girl who took my order said 10 mins she said they could not do that. When I saw the girl again at 8:30 i asked her when my pizza would be ready since she had told me earlier that it would only take 10 mins and she said 4 mins cause they just put it in. I told her I wanted my money back because she was supposed to have already had my order ready and I have not eaten and I am hypoglycemic and need to eat now. I was starting to feel sick. She tried to give my money back and another employee said she couldn't do that and and said to him TWICE in front of my F___Y____. I told her that was very inappropriate language and she stormed off. Someone else came up and said I don't know what's goin on but I'm just here to give your money back. He was having a hard time doing it again I told him I was getting very sick and needed to eat. No comment just focused on trying to do the refund. I had to sit down for a few and still the 4 mins pizza never came nor did the refund. I walked back to my car to try and find some candy or something to keep from passing out because at this point with being frustrated and having not eaten I was very shaky. I had my grandkids with me and they had never seen me like this and they were scared. I went back inside and no one was at the counter but I noticed my pizza was finally ready at 8:45. I love this pizza and eat it everytime I am in town but I can't say I'll be back after so little customer service and the lies from the staff. read more

This place is perfect for a group with kids. It is first come first serve seating so no reservations and no wait as the tables turn over quickly. You order at the counter and get a number. They also have a bar. In addition to the large indoor seating area, there is an outdoor turfed area that is great for the kids to run around in. Parking was easy in their shared lot with the other businesses in the strip mall. I had the wings to start and they were huge! The medium had just the right amount of kick and they provided plenty of ranch, along with the usual veggies. It was okay, but not really worth standing in a line for 30 minutes to then wait another 45+ for your order while you pray to find somewhere to sit. Let's say you forget to order something, nope, you can't add to your order without standing in the insane line again. The service wasn't bad, but considering they don't take orders at the table, and you fill your own beverages, I wouldn't say the service was good either. As for the taste, and considering the customer waits in line, gets their own drinks and can't add to an order, I wouldn't go back. It was a step above a quality frozen pizza. The location is cute, and the live music was appealing, but not enough to go back. Ingles is pretty close, and their frozen pizza and salad bar sections are just as good, and they sell beer, wine and all the beverages too.
