Slackwater in Riverwoods is one of my favorite places in Provo. It can get a bit noisy but who cares when the food is about as yummy as it gets. Salads are amazingly fresh, soup is delish and the Pizza!!! Wow. Service is top notch. I give it a 6 out of 5 stars. read more

We've been anticipating the opening of the new Slackwater after loving our experience at the Sandy location, and had an amazing meal! The service was so down to earth, they had family seating and were great with our kids joining, the food was amazing (try the heavenly hummus!), and the ambience is the cherry on top. Fave pizza is the hulk with mushrooms added, but you literally cannot go wrong! read more

I never write reviews but after what I witnessed last night I feel like I have to. I don't feel comfortable going back to this location because of the very angry manager Dave. It was absolutely freezing last night and they had the garage doors open. We had made a complaint to our server but nothing had been done. Then Dave came around the corner and started yelling at some guys who had also asked for the garage doors to be closed. It was truly shocking how quickly Dave escalated the situation. He kicked the guys out after about 15 seconds. I saw him rip the pizza out of the hands of a kid in a wheelchair. It was actually really sad, I feel bad for the kid. The restaurant and food is really great but it's not a safe environment. Completely unacceptable. Won't be going back. read more

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was yummy! The service was fast and attentive. The appetizers were good, we got breadsticks and citrus wings. Our pizzas were pretty good, but we weren't blown away. The crust wasn't our favorite and the marinara sauce was an interesting flavor, not what we were expecting. Overall good food! Spent a week in Park City/SLC/Provo. Our service at this restaurant was the worst we had all week. They brought out our food promptly, but we had no silverware, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when eating out. We ordered beers, but my husband's beer came out after our food, and they were out of the beer I ordered, which I didn't find out until my husband's beer came out. Service needs improvement. Restaurant had a great vibe, and good service, but the food smh, not so much. I got the Cuban sandwich and Caesar salad. The salad was some chopped romaine w/a simple dressing and Parmesan. It needed more lemon, garlic, and anchovy. No flavorful croutons. It looked like a limp mound of green and off white. And the sandwich smh. That was not a Cuban. The bread was not properly buttered and toasted crispy on the outside. The meat had very little flavor. All I tasted was mustard, pressed bread, and thin scraps of mystery meat. Where's the ham? Roasted pork? Melted Swiss cheese? Pickles? Had high hopes given the other reviews but left wishing I had gone somewhere else. read more

We were looking for a pizza place with a good selection of craft beers. Slackwater hit it out of the park on both points. The two different pizzas we ordered were both excellent and the beer selection impressive. Went on a Saturday evening and it was busy but the friendly staff kept things moving along. We've been loyal fans to Slackwater in Sandy and Salt Lake, and were so excited to finally get a location in Orem! Somehow they have managed to take the service and food above and beyond, not to mention the ambiance of the new location is unreal. Every member of the staff from the moment you enter to your service is attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares to give you the best service and experience. Ended up with a party of 13 and we started with sharing Nachos and the artichoke dip which were both a big hit. Mary was amazing with keeping us all filled up on our drinks and helping us with suggestions for our dinner. The menu has a fabulous selection which worked well since a little of everything was ordered between soups, salad, sandwiches and of course pizza. Mary was very impressive as everyone's order was perfect and she was always around attending to everyone's needs. She went above and beyond arranging the multiple tables so we could all be close enough to each other to enjoy conversations together. Everyone remarked on the wonderful food, service and just being together. Mary had one of her associates (sorry I didn't get her name ) take some group pictures outside to end our perfect reunion night. Employees here were so incredibly rude. They sat 5 of us (3 of them big men over 6'2") at a 4 person table. When we arrived I asked the waitress if we could move to a 6 person table. The place was empty. She said yes. A couple minutes later the hostess came in clear view of us getting angry at the waitress making gestures to us. We asked the waitress if we got her in trouble for moving. She said they had a party of 18 coming in later. They had 4- six person tables so surely they could use the other three that we weren't sitting at. However, over the next 15 minutes we got the nastiest looks from every employee except our cute waitress (who was great btw). Two gentleman that stood there the whole time (didn't see them work once) kept looking back, glaring at us. Another hostess or waitress would come back by us pretending like she was working (moving bottles around on the table) giving us her glares. We were tired of it so moved back to our tiny table. Then all the employees immediately swooped in and put the 3 out of 4 tables together. The "big" party didn't even come until an hour later. We had stayed and chatted. And by the time they were all seated one of the 6- person tables was EMPTY! I can't believe employees acted this way. So rude and nasty. It's like we had committed the crime of the century wanting a table that would fit us. I won't go back here again. read more
