Downing Street Pour House is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always really good, and…read moresome of my favorites are the salmon, the Black and Blue Burger, and their salads. They also have a kids' menu, even though it is not listed on the regular menu, which is nice to know if you are bringing children with you. The staff is always awesome, friendly, and welcoming. I also love that the restaurant is located inside an old historic hotel, which gives it such a cool atmosphere -- and maybe even a few ghost stories. Overall, it is a great spot with good food, great service, and a fun historic feel. I definitely recommend checking it out.

The poutine was fabulous. The fry coating was crisp and tasty and the gravy was full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich is outstanding! The way they cut that corned beef was nothing short of magic. An egg on there? What? I've never heard of such a thing, but yes please. And I had the brûlée corn; which I may need to learn how to replicate because I've never seen this on any menu in Chicago, but it's too far to travel as often as I'll be thinking about that dish! The old fashions were smooth! Went with vanilla and loved the subtle flavors. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was a delightful mix of old school pub/English castle. All of it was just what I was hoping to find. Food off the beaten path that deserves a huge shout out. In a town of bland flavors, this place shines like a real gem!

We have a gluten free eater, they were out of the buns, which was fine, but then the server came back to the table to inform us the Owner ran to the store to get them so I (others who would order) could have a full meal. Talk about impressed and a true customer focus. Wow! My burger was scrumptious, tender, juicy (Not greasy) and the fish and chips were delicious (I was told). Another had the cajun chicken pasta, they were also highly satisfied with their choice of dinner. Thank you Chris for great service, friendly smile and a warm welcome. The ambiance was welcoming and clean. Thank you again for going out of your way for myself and family needs.

The waitress was the only good part about the meal because she was friendly and always had a smile. 4 adults and 1 children was $175 for a few "strips" of catfish and 6 shrimp on a single plate that was a full meal. I grew up in the Ozarks so I know catfish and I am sure if you put all three plates together it may have equaled one fillet. Oh, but it doesn't stop there, any table over 4 is 25% automatic tip. At least the waitress in this diner made $32. I would never recommend and never return!

It's a great combination of flavors, and the steak pairs really well with the feta and roasted garlic. The pizza itself is excellent. The crust is tender with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven--crispy on the outside while still soft inside. The whole place has a fun, energetic vibe with cycling decor throughout, friendly staff, and a menu that goes beyond pizza with a variety of solid pub food options. If you're looking for a lively place to grab great pizza and hang out for a while, this is a great stop.

We ordered drinks -- a typical assortment of mainstream and local beers, cocktails, and limited wine options. I got the cab, my husband ordered the golden from Bikerack Brewing. My wine was better than expected for a neighborhood bar. We ordered the Derailleur pizza, which was delicious, and our friend got a custom selection that he pillished off. The pizza here is all thin crust, which happens to be my favorite. We tried the chocolate pie for desert - also delicious. A solo performer came on around 7. There seemed to be a couple sound issues, but he was talented and made for a good background. Great bartenders - Amy rocks. I'd come back any time.
