Don't pay the $13 to go in the back. Not worth it. The stuff in the front is very cool and picture worthy. Save your money for the merch.

It's a free event, so a long line is understandable -- just something to plan for. The overall vibe inside was fun and worth checking out if you've got the patience. My only suggestion would be for them to open more than just four days in October. That would help spread out the crowds and make it easier for more people to enjoy the experience without such a long wait.

The theme this year is "Evil in the London Fog," and right when you enter, you feel like you've stepped into a foggy, cobblestoned, Victorian London of the past. This was my first haunted house I've ever done, and I don't like being scared. It is the perfect intro to haunted houses for someone like myself who is a scaredy cat - it was light on gore and very brief which made it manageable to walk through. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quite fast. The haunted house is built on their front yard (amazing), so you will get through it quite quickly. It is free, which is incredible for the amount of work that goes into it. However! There is a box where you can leave donations, and all proceeds go to Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. Everyone who was working the haunt was so friendly, with fantastic themed costumes to boot. Absolutely wonderful vibes all around! They deserve no tricks and ALL the treats!

Every square foot of this haunt is frightfully alive. 17 focuses on great actors and inventive non stop scares with dozens and dozens of monsters throughout all 17 rooms. Makeup and special effects are just amazing. This is a haunter's haunt that attracts the best talent around. Expect to be thrilled, scared, shocked and delighted. These monsters ain't shy, so strap in, you are in for a wild ride! Before you visit any other haunted attractions, visit 17th door first. It's in a league of its own. Sure you can tromp around another huge, overpriced, overcrowded, "just ok" theme park haunt with the same worn out mazes and the same bored rubber masked zombies doing the same tired old pop up gags you see every year, or you can do 17 and see the industry's best veteran scare actors who bring the fright night after night. Easy free parking too right in front of the main entrance. Highly recommend.

That said (and without spoiling a thing), this year's production absolutely exceeded my expectations. No cheesy jump scares here, instead they go straight for the deep seated phobias, the stuff that actually gets under your skin. The execution? Beautifully done. Creative, intense, and immersive from start to finish. Still holding out hope that the Field Trip makes a comeback one day. If I had a magic Halloween genie, that's the first wish I'd cash in. Tips: - whole experience is about 45 minutes long - Wear comfortable shoes, you'll be moving, ducking, and maybe running for your life - VIP tix so worth it if you go when it's packed, you skip the line straight to the front - If you're nervous or easily freaked out, grab the mercy pendant - You might get wet in a few spots, so plan accordingly with your hair and makeup situation - And please, pray with me that they bring the Field Trip back, it deserves a resurrection!!!!

The line moved quickly even though they had security checking bodies and bags for things not permitted. FYI, water bottles are not allowed. There were three mazes. Two of them were decent, but I found the Elvira one to be boring. I also paid additional money to shoot at zombies. The one minute they give you to shoot is not worth the amount of money you pay . We also had funnel cake which was way over cooked.

(2) For General Admission (Hayride & entry to each maze), it's $59 per person ($47 + $12 fees). (3) For the VIP Fast Pass (General Admission for a 1/3 of the wait time), it's $73 per person ($47 + $26 fees). (4) For Platinum Skip The Line (literally walk right up to the front of the Hayride & each maze), it's $135 per person ($47 + $88 fees). Whatever entry ticket you choose, they're going to add $3 if you choose to ride the Hayride between 7PM-11PM (event closes at midnight on the weekends, earlier on weekdays). Each guest is required to sign a waiver before entry. Add-ons include: (1) Midnight Falls Axe Throwing - $7 for 5 axe throws. (2) Zombie Splat GellyBall Experience - $10 for firing at live actor zombies with a water balloon gun ala paintball. (3) Scary-Go-Round - $5 to ride the merry go round. (4) Mini Escape Rooms - $8 to play a mini escape room. (5) Madame Aurora Seance Theater - $10 to watch a seance. (6) Combo Pack - $25 for entry to the Seance Theater, Zombie Splat, Scary-Go-Round, and Midnight Falls Axe Throwing. (7) S'Mores Package - $8 to make your own smores by fire. (8) Digital Photo Album Access - $5 to access any photos taken at the event. Parking options: (1) Gold Parking - $60 for the closest and most convenient parking near the Hayride. (2) Premium Parking - $25 for parking at the Merry-Go-Round lot. (3) Free parking - park at the L.A. Zoo and a free shuttle will take you to & from the event. My wife and I scored free General Admission tickets from Long Beach's Midsummer Scream so that was a breeze. Since we're not psychotic, we opted for the free parking at the zoo. Plenty of bus shuttles coming/going with lots of room to cram everyone for the short ride to the event. After arrival, you have to walk downhill through the dirt to get to the entrance. Fyi - the whole place is dirt, so wear closed shoes (preferably not your favorite) and be prepared to thoroughly clean them the next morning. We hit the Hayride first and walked right through the back to wait in line for 5 minutes. Scare actors interact with everyone waiting to get your blood pumping. Don't know how long the actual Hayride was, but it was pretty lengthy with lots of different sections/scenes to see. Honestly not too shabby! Only complaint is that you're seated at the sides of the wagon, so you're going to be awkwardly turned the entire time. Doesn't matter which side you're on as the scares are on both (even above!). There are 3 mazes and we went through them all. Monae Manor had a big line to get in but it was like 20 minutes so not too bad. It was by far the best one out of the trio. Hillbilly Halloween was the furthest from the others and had the shortest line. It was also a pretty fast walkthrough - meh. Elvira's Trick or Treat Mayhem had the longest line but moved along at a decent pace. It was ok, but there was a weird part where you walk through like a heavy tarp and scare actors are pushing on both sides to get you disoriented like you're being swallowed. If you're claustrophobic, you might want to skip this one. We had our fill with good eats - lots of options to choose from. Had a slice of supreme pizza from The Wicked Oven ($12). Wifey got a burger, fries and drink from Carnivore Kitchen ($23). We shared an apple cider topped with a cider donut from the Midnight Falls Cider Mill ($15). We shared a Sonoran Hot Dog from Nightmare in Nogales ($19). We grabbed a sleeve of Ghoul Scout Cookies from Fresh Baked Cookies ($11) for the ride home. The apple cider and cookies were the best from what we tried. Though expensive, we had a blast at the 2025 L.A. Haunted Hayride and wouldn't mind coming back next year. Lots of photo ops all over the place, lots of scare actors throughout (some with chainsaws), and a ridiculous amount of strobe lights & fog machines. The event is what you make of it and how much you're willing to spend. Paying for parking is insane and the VIP/Platinum passes aren't worth it as you'll still have to wait in line no matter what (just a little shorter). It probably won't be worth going too late as you won't get to do everything - we went at 7PM when they opened, did everything (except the add-ons) and were back at the car by 11:30PM. If you're prone to seizures, sadly this isn't for you. Website says it might be too intense for kids 12 and under, but there were plenty of little boils and ghouls running around so who knows. It's a dry event so absolutely no alcohol or smoking. No restrooms, just porta potties that have no lights inside so expect a dark sticky time. Take a shower when you get home and thoroughly blow your nose because you'll be dusty all up in there. Prices and experience may vary.
