We had a great visit from the representative on the work they could do. Then it went downhill. We asked for 3 references, measurements of the floors they'd refinish (so we could see how much per sq ft), type of materials, and to clarify the timing contract, which they requested 50% downpayment. For the help of ALL consumers, here is the LAW on contracts: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=7159.5.&lawCode=BPC A contractor cannot ask for "50% down" before beginning work. CSLB dictates that as well. Here, educate ourselves: https://www.cslb.ca.gov/resources/guidesandpublications/wyskpamphlet.pdf Their manager wrote to us (taken word for word from email) : "As for the CSLB, I am aware of their rules. We can ask for anything we want, you can request to stay with their required 10% or $1000, whichever is less." and "If you call 20 retail stores, they will all say the same thing. I will sometimes negotiate, but most people don't see half down and half upon completion as a barrier. " They may have amazing teams on the ground doing the work, but the back-office and administrative team is breaking the law. Yes, we filed a formal complaint. WHY can't they just follow the RULES? This law is for ALL CONTRACTORS, not just "commercial" or "residential". And yes, flooring restoration is construction, that's why CSLB exists, and this company has a LICENSE. They must follow ALL the rules, not cherry-pick ones and gouge potential clients for what they feel like.

Replaced the carpet in our living room with hardwood. Paul is extremely knowledgeable and was very patient in answering all of our questions and concerns. Everyone at Slaughterbeck, from the receptionist to the installers, is extremely kind and professional. Mike and Mason did an amazing job installing the flooring and made sure we were informed during the process. Had an amazing experience working with them and will continue to work with them for any future projects!

Paul is honest and doesn't Over promise! He is very detailed about possible expectations. There were no surprises. Miguel and Javier did a miraculous job of saving my original 1926 birch flooring even after it was cleared of asbestos.

Slaughterbeck Floors does it again - this time with epoxy flooring. We had Slaughterbeck Floors do our hardwood floors in our home which after 8 years we are still admiring. Now it was time to take care of our shop floors and they did a great job. We almost don't want to move our equipment in and cover any part of it. Mike and his team are great!

We happened to begin our project just as Paul was taking the reins from Joan and their transition was seamless.

Robert was able to measure, and estimate my floor two months prior to the actual work because my kitchen project was taking so long. He knew it was going to take a while and advised me to do it sooner than later to lock in prices due to inventory and inflation issues that could occur. I don't know of any other company in this field that has better service and communication than Abby Carpet. Robert is attentive and is very personable. He let me keep the floor samples for as long as I needed to make a decision on which flooring I wanted. The floor associates at the store were also very knowledgeable and helpful while shopping in store for floor options. The actual floor work was clean and timely. He did a great job making sure not to damage the existing base boards. He actually recaulked them so they look better than it was before. I thank him for that. I will hire them again for any future carpet or flooring needs.

I created a Yelp project, and out of all the quotes we received, Abbey Carpet by Blossom Valley Interiors was the cheapest. I also liked that they came with sample flooring when they came by for the estimate appointment (they were the only ones that did). Coupled with an overall good Yelp rating, we decided to move forward with them. The job was completed quickly and they did a great job. I would recommend this business for any flooring needs.

Our experience started with Phillip to replace the existing flooring in our home due to a flood. The initial issue came once we signed the contract and paid the 50% deposit, unexpectedly the flooring we were told we were getting was out of stock and would take weeks to order so we went with a backup option. From there, issues we were told that would not be a problem, such as replacement in the master closet, which we came up with a solution for, to underbidding the work and saying there was more than he/they expected became a constant trend. After the floor was installed, our walls had a fair amount of damage from the demo of the prior floor which we ended up paying the majority of the cost for while FCI chipped in. We had a large bump in the middle of our kitchen that stemmed from incorrect prep work and also a board that had no nails in it which was replaced. We had railing that were bent and incorrectly installed that had to be fixed and eventually were. We had stairs that were cracking at the joints and that needed to be fixed and eventually were. We still to this day, per the photos below, missing stair covers and uneven installation in areas. Also, our stairs creek on three of them which we did not have an issue with before. After this most horrific and lengthy experience with FCI, I would strongly consider other options that might be out there for you and your family.

I'm very happy with my new flooring so far not any issues with it,happy new years and hopefully…read moreeverything goes well for everyone
