Making sure we left the premises

My son (14 yrs old) has Crohn's disease and Colon cancer and he needed to use the bathroom real bad. No one was at the front desk for me to ask if he could use the bathroom so I proceeded to the "public" bathroom before he had an accident. 2 minutes later there was knock on the bathroom door and the lady asked if I had a room there so I told her respectfully no I didn't and i explained the situation but she didn't care and told me I had to have my son stop doing number 2 and leave the premises so that's exactly what we did and they walked us outside like we were criminals and waited at the entrance doors until we left. You would think people would have compassion for a child like that but nope not here. I will be making a full video about it on my social media page

I wish I could give his hotel zero stars. We paid $160 for one night. We arrived at 11:30PM, we got our room 206 and the first thing was the light didn't work to the room. We let it go since we were going to bed anyways. Woke up the night morning to actually sunlight to see into the room. We had BLOOD on the walls and bathroom floor, the room was incredibly dirty, and cracks in thr bathroom walls. When we checked out I sent the pictures to the front desk manager who said they would contact me about a discount. No one ever called. So I called back and she said they were having a hard time refunding me because I wasn't a choice hotel member. Who cares, I'm still a customer. So today, they did call to offer $25 BACK! What a slap on the face for such a nasty ass hotel.

2 authorizations instead of 1. My credit card company is still holding that other pending transaction!!

OMG WHY, WHY, WHY didn't I look at the reviews first?? My work has me staying at hotels 30+ weekends a year. This is BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL I have ever stayed at. THE MORON BEHIND THE DESK (TEE) DID 2 AUTHORIZATIONS FOR MY STAY. Looking at other reviews I see this is kind of the norm for this location. No one at the front deck could do anything about the problem because apparently Choice Hotels doesn't employ anyone with any knowledge or even common sense on how to take care of a customer. The manager of that location comically is the same dimwit that charged me twice! PLEASE - if you need a hotel, stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!! I contacted corporate for Choice Hotels, and they were as moronic as the "manager" at the location. Didn't offer any help whatsoever with the exception of calling the hotel and talking to the same idiot that over charged me in the first place! You can see in the photo the 2 authorizations. I am done with Choice Hotels!!

My wife and I were in charge of the decor and organizing my Navy squadron's reunion for almost 160…read morepeople at the hotel and it was awesome! The location was exceptional for our group. Easy access to the water taxi for other events was definitely an added plus. The DoubleTree Riverfront hotel deserves a 10++ for everything they did! The hotel staff was amazing and every single person went above and beyond, and directly aided the reason for the reunion's success, and we do mean every single person! Sara, the sales professional was extremely responsive, easy to work with and connected us to the right people to work with. Apollo managed the banquet room, and he knows the event business. He was directly responsible for all the interworking's of our large banquet, technical requirements and success of the banquet. His help in the PA/sound system and up-lighting was instrumental in making the event a success! He even created a custom menu for our attendees to review prior to entering the buffet. Last minute requests?...No problem! Judy made the buffet dinner run flawlessly. She released all the tables in systematic order getting everyone through the line in record time. The dinner was served on time and it was great! Hat's off to the chef and team! We had some ADA veterans and those who had a little more difficult time moving, so Judy had the staff serve the dessert, a very honorable and much appreciative gesture on her part. We couldn't thank her enough! Kevin, Joe, Troy, Michele plus the bartender were outstanding in flipping the room for the banquet and setting up the room's tables and chair covers. All had amazing attitudes and took care of every detail requested. Ezzy and her staff in the breakfast room simply excelled in their service. They made us all feel so welcomed and the food was very good. We talked to several attendees at the banquet and a common theme was how extraordinary all the hotel staff (and I mean all) was, hands down great. A big thank you to everyone and DoubleTree family!!!

A lot could improve! I stayed here over the past weekend in a balcony Riverfront suite. Initially…read morethe room was barely clean and I had to submit a request to reclean. The reviews list it as a 4star hotel. It is really giving 2 star motel. The room was very antiquated. The 1970s arm chair was stained and filthy. It looked like a thrift store purchase. The carpet could stand to be shampooed or replaced. The room was not equipped with a microwave or mini fridge. They had vending machines on each floor that contain nothing but sold out pop and and an ice machine. In the lobby was a snack area where a bag of small size doritos were 6.00. I had no hot water my entire stay. It was very noisy. All night long you could hear the heavy old fashion doors slam. The heater in my room smelled like a hair blow dryer that was about to give out. It was also very loud and took a long time to heat the space. Parking is also a little expensive $30 a day to self park. Considering it is attached to the hotel you would think this would be complimentary to your stay. Staff was very pleasant. The lobby decor was ok and the view was nice. Those are the only compliments I can give. I enjoy The Hilton portfolio but would NEVER stay at this location again. I just expected more from a 4-star hotel. P.s. I am waiting to see if I actually receive a 3 day voucher from corporate in the mail as they promised.
