We went for a little weekend getaway, this place hit all the marks with the price, inside pool and free breakfast. The pool was fairly small as was the gym, but both were sufficient. The breakfast is Continental and includes a waffle maker, eggs, cereal, juices, yogurt, sausage, coffee, tea and muffins. Very good selection. Eggs weren't great, but they're fine. Rest was tasty. Rooms are a little loud between rooms, we heard the people next doors TV all night on our first night. The hallways are very dark and the outlets in the room are so worn they don't hold the plugs. Nice place, very clean, the man at the front desk was very helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Solid overall with everything included. read more

The price was good for a after midnight check in. It's only 1o-15 mins away from Mohegan, which was where I was headed the next day. The thing that surprised me the most was their unique shower. This inn really utilized its space to the max. Good job on that. They also have breakfast in the morning but it ends fairly early. Not bad! I would definitely stay here again, the beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. I just had trouble with their remote control for the tv. It's weird, the control says press any button, but when you press anything it doesn't work. After turning the tv on, you need to press along the edges for the tv to start! read more

If i could give 0 i would. Mold. Mold. Mold. Everywhere. On the a/c unit, on the bathroom ceiling, around the shower. Black. Mold. Also - damp. We were on the bottom floor and it was like staying in a rain forest. The sheets were so damp it was like sleeping with a potty training 2 year old. We got in way too late (passed 9pm) so we had to rough through the night. The am didn't make it any better. We opened the windows and the mirrors fogged like crazy! There were also four huge holes in the window screen... we left ASAP. I booked through Expedia so the manager told me he couldn't do anything other than offer us a new room which we declined. There were spider webs on the ceiling.. luckily I have trip insurance and Expedia is working with me to get at least my one night that i didnt stay back. Rooms are new but unfortunately they are not following any Covid safety guidelines except plexi at the front desk. But front desk employees walk around and smoke out front with no masks. We heard multiple people complain about employees not wearing masks and the manager said if he made them they would quit their jobs. So no cleaning staff are wearing masks! Stay at your own health risk. It is a shame because the rooms are very nice for the price. read more

Very efficient, clean and convenient hotel. We had a group arrive past midnight and the staff had all the room assignments and keys organized perfectly. 86 of us into the right right rooms in under 5 min. Good breakfast waffles. Rooms just fine with extra pillows and hot showers. Everything in good working order and lots of staff working hard. A great stay. read more

They have complimentary breakfast in the morning from 7-10 which consist of Apple juice/ orange juice/coffee Cereal (fruit loops /raisin bran) Yogurt Waffle machine English muffins and toast Pastries/mini muffins Apples and oranges And eggs and sausage As for the room my bed was squeaky and the floor was dirty I spotted some I don't know if it was blood, behind the curtains The pool looked extremely dirty, definetely needs a clean up . So we found this place after looking online at a TON of places along the CT shore. We own 3 homes, rent 1 out and Airbnb another, so are fairly cognizant (and picky!) Of the issues facing accommodations around here. We stay at a lot of hotels and Airbnbs all year round. This seemed like a GREAT price and a clean and comfy room. And so far so good. Love our room. Super clean, big enough, no noise. HOWEVER, I had the very WORST customer service event as we checked in. The lady at the front desk asked to see my ID to match my credit card which literally never happens. I've easily been to thousands of hotels in this country (and probably hundreds all around the world) and I've never had my identity checked. Okay, so fine. Go ahead. License and credit card are passed over. Then she starts GRILLING ME about my middle initial not being the same. OMG. I really should have left right then. And I said I would. And she said GOOD. But I was so tired after driving from the city that I just went out and brought out my Brooks Brothers husband to deal with the woman. That woman should not EVER be in customer service. She needs to be a bean counter or a bookkeeper or somewhere where she can lord it over NON-HUMANS. Seriously. Get another job. read more

This review is based on a cancellation experience....I never stayed here. We booked a 1 night stay here via Booking.com. We needed to cancel which I did through Booking.com. We cancelled at least 5 days prior to our stay (which states there is NO CHARGE if done within 24 hours). After our stay was supposed to take place, I get a charge from Sleep Inn and Suites. I called Booking.com, and the rest is a story too long to mention. In a nutshell...after talking to a rather unprofessional manager and desk clerk at Sleep Inn and Suites, they stated they never received a cancellation. Booking.com had electronic tracking info that the cancellation WAS sent to Sleep Inn and Suites. I cancelled on 7/29/17 and it's now 8/21/17. I am still waiting for my refund. Thank goodness that Booking.com will refund me the money since Sleep Inn and Suites will not. WARNING - Don't cancel a room if you plan to stay here....it will be a nightmare to get a refund (especially if you go through Booking.com). read more

The reviews for this hotel were average to good. Do not believe it. While the hotel itself was fairly clean and recently renovated, the thing they don't tell you is this is a party destination close to Mohegan Sun Casino. After being woken up at 12:45am, 2:25am and 3:30am to loud arguments and drunken behavior in the hallways, the final straw was the belligerent cursing outside our window at 4:30am. The language and volume of the voices would be offensive to any adult, not to mention children if you are travelling with your family. Calls to the front desk were not responded to with action and I nearly called the police myself until there was quiet ****@ 4:45am. Don't waste your money on this place! read more

Not a Good Place to Stay They put me in a handicapped room for no apparent reason; the motel was about 15% booked. They moved me to a room that was above a (large) air conditioning unit. The unit was on, most of the time, resulting in a loud humming sound in the room all night. This our go-to hotel whenever D and I are visiting Mohegan Sun. Its about a 10 minute drive to the casino. Its right at the junction of 395 and 95 and literally right off the exit. Whenever we have gone its been about $85/night. The reservation process is easy online, the rooms are always clean, and they usually let us check-in early (like 11am as opposed to 4pm). They do have a continental self serve breakfast in the morning which has bagels, muffins, coffee, cereal, and the likes. However last time we went there was a grumbly old wench "working" the area i.e. refilling the empty butter packets and sweet-n-los. She was outwardly complaining about her job and how all these people were there. It was actually pretty hysterical. I almost spilled my coffee on the floor just to make her even more miserable, but opted not to be a douche. O and they do have a pool, but it is the size of my left pinky toe. For the area, price and basic hotel, it was great! We stayed here last night. We checked in at 12 am with no issues. (some hotels freak out and charge a late check in fee but not them) Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was fantastic and the continental breakfast was great! This Hotel is the WORSE!! They are an example of horrible, antiquated business practices. We live in the age of the consumer and obviously the people in charge must live in another decade. I made a reservation using a third booking site and I admit that was my first mistake. The reservation was made on 7/9 for 8/4. However when I realized that this hotel was located far from where I needed to be (I booked this hotel for my cousins wedding) I quickly canceled it, maybe within an hour of booking. I noticed the hotel had charged my account $355. When I called the third party company they informed me the Hotel REFUSED to waive the cancellation fee. I find it sickening that they have charged me for a room that I no longer need and will probably book the room to someone else. This non-refundable room charges are so unethical and I have already reached out to the corporate office and the Connecticut BBB. Also I called the front desk at the hotel to see what could be done and was informed by the front office manager (so mad I didn't get her name) that she doesn't accept waivers. Obviously she could if she wanted to but prefers to give bad customer service instead. This Hotel might be cheap but the practices are antiquated, smart consumers beware! read more

Decent clean hotel for a wknd in Mystic. Rooms felt updated considering this is a 2star accommodation. Everything was is reasonable working order. We enjoyed the pool with the kids. Location is right off the I-95 with large Starbucks down the road. There is free continental breakfast but don't expect much. The coffee was little like brown water. OJ was also really watered down. The staff did a good job of keeping all public spaces clean and tidy. read more

Worst experience. Our neighbors were having LOUD adult relations all night while I had my two pre-teen children in my room. I thought this was a family oriented hotel. I complained to the front desk and it was an awkward and uncomfortable situation for all. Our room was clean. Our TV remote was missing and the TV didn't work. Although I reserved the room for 3 nights, I checked out the next morning. I only got about 3 hours of sleep. Asked what direction to the elevator and was told "no elevator". Not Happy :( The room smelled like someone recent came in with a can of Fabreez and sprayed the place. I had stayed here years ago and had high hopes it had changed. It did not. My first imoression of the lobby was that it was dirty. The front desk clerk was wearng a stained shirt. The room was appropriate but the shower was tiny. The breakfast was awful. Instead of real coffee it was coffee from a machine. My husband and I stayed here at the Sleep Inn for three nights July 5-8. We stayed in a King size room, and it looked exactly as pictured. The room was on the smaller side, but the room is designed nicely even with the space constraint. My only complaint with the room was having to split one drawer with my husband when unpacking clothes from our suitcase besides the two side table drawers, other than that the sheets were clean, the bed was on the firmer side, but I tend to like a firmer mattress, and there were plenty of pillows. The walls are paper thin, and we did have noisy neighbors, but that isn't the hotel's fault. I blame the fact that our neighbors were inconsiderate with shutting their doors, staying up until the wee hours of the morning, slamming their door all night long as they went back and fourth to smoke. The bathroom was interesting. It had a sliding door, and the shower itself was decent in size. All of the staff were very pleasant and professional making our stay as lovely as could be. The breakfast in the morning was great as it was free. The only thing I wished was that there was more seating, but once families started to pack in, one of the older ladies opened up a different part of the hotel for people to sit in. There were plenty of choices like waffles you could make yourself, fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, sausage, eggs, and yogurt for breakfast and the girl was always refilling everything. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the pool as that closed every night at 10 pm and my husband and I were gone all day to Rhode Island nor did we go to the exercise area, I have no have nothing to say about that. As good as it gets and worth a try. The management of this hotel heard the cries of their customers and they made serious changed. Not sure how extensive management remodeled/renovated the hotel, but I think they did a great job so far. With a little more work, it is comparable to a Holiday Inn in my opinion. Pro: Welcoming lobby, free breakfast, free parking, no odor in the room that I stayed, quiet heater/AC unit, clean bed, comfortable bed, housekeeping turned on the heat for us so we came into a nice warm room after being in the cold, clean bathroom, nice paint job on the wall, cable channels were very clear. Con: The carpet looks old, but still ok, the office chair is a mesh material instead of leather so it had some stains, hair, and partials on it (I didn't sit on it), and the metal frame that hold up the bed was very squeaky, not sure how fresh the breakfast is because I found expired yogurt. read more

This hotel was great! We came to CT for the beaches... We have two toddlers, and needed a place to stay for a couple days. This hotel met our requirements. Close to highways, had an indoor pool, fitness area and breakfast. We booked a room with two queen beds, but on check in got a suite for a great rate! The room was spacious, clean & smelled good! There was a crotchety older woman working the breakfast area, but we just ignored her! The pool was nice and clean. We will definitely go back! The only complaint..... Squeaky spring mattresses. My room was the size of a NYC apartment...king size bed, sleeper sofa, jacuzzi tub for 2! Fridge & microwave in room! Super clean! Hallway carpet is a little dirty, but people walk on it all day...and there are people clearly partying there, but it's a hotel and that's what people do. I don't eat hotel breakfast, so that doesn't matter to me. Freshly paved parking lot, friendly front desk staff (so friendly he moved his own truck so someone with a late checkin could park their vehicle) and its within a stones' throw of Starbucks! Boyfriend and I visited Mohegan Sun and stayed here. Dont get a room on first floor. We were awaken by kids playing tag in the hallway. I guess it's beacause it was right by the pool and dinning area. Front desk didn't bother telling them to stop either. I'm not going rave about the breakfast included , but our room was beautiful and clean. Pictures on site are real, new look is great, but the bed was really hard. Horrible customer service! Terrible manager who actually lied to us. Don't stay at this hotel unless you want your credit cards messed up and money held that shouldn't have been. The manager Ishvar not only charged my credit card, he put a hold on my new son-in-laws credit card and would not take the hold off their money which left them with hardly any funds. This was a gift from me to my daughter and new husband for their honeymoon. I had to call Ishvar back a couple of times and asked if he would remove hold on the credit card. He blamed it on the bank until today 8/28 my daughter broke down, my son in law found out it was not the banks doing. It was Ishvars doing. He continued to blame bank until forced to remove hold. Ishvar said,"ok! Ill remove the hold". Nothing like having your honeymoon ruined by incompetent managers, He should be fired! read more

They told us to flick the breaker switch. The fan never worked at all and the worn little refrigerator never got cold. Dirty, with peeling wallpaper and ripped carpeting. This is the only acceptable hotel in Niantic. It's relatively clean... Mystery brown spots on the walls around the pull-out sofa had me wondering "poop or blood?" to myself... And the mattress cover on the pull-out sofa had several mystery hairs, thankfully we were able to cover them up with a sheet! Other than that, it was clean. 4pm check-in is the latest check-in I've ever heard of... And on this last visit we arrived AFTER 4 pm & our room STILL was not ready! We didn't get in there till nearly 4:30... Check-out is 11 am, so they have five hours to get the rooms ready. Not having the room ready at 4:08 pm is unacceptable. They didn't apologize either. A few of the staff members just grunt at you. There is an older woman who is nice & friendly though. For a suite, our room was lacking a proper place for everyone to put their clothes - thankfully we were only there for two nights this last trip. King-sized bed, pull-out sofa, open-space closet, desk with a TV on top & three drawers, one of which has the phone books & bible in it, so really only 2 1/2 drawers for a room that will sleep 4... Desk chair, arm chair with a pull-out ottoman, table & 2 seats, small microwave on top of a mini fridge. A decent amount of space with plenty of room, but lacking proper clothes storage... The pool is TINY & freezing. You think they could heat the pool water given how tiny it is but nope, it was too cold. It desperately needs to be drained & the walls scrubbed too, they're pretty gross. There were pool towels though which is nice. There was a baseball team staying there while we were. They had practically zero supervision. They were going from the pool into the exercise room for a good half hour, soaking the carpet & the machines, despite the fact that the kids knew they weren't supposed to be in the exercise room & their were two parents in & out of the pool area but never told the kids once to stop. When they were in the pool, they were loud, obnoxious, rough-housing, totally ignoring the fact that there were other kids in the pool, & one of them was a lot smaller & a lot younger than them. My husband got kicked several times. Our daughter & son were basically chased out of the pool by these obnoxious brats. While it was the parents fault that the kids had zero supervision & were terrorizing the other guests & ruining the exercise equipment, it was pretty clear the parents did not care & the "inmates were running the asylum" so-to-speak. There is a camera in the pool area & none of the staff ever came in & told the kids to stop or scolded the parents for watching their kids get water all over the fitness equipment & let their kids be disrespectful of the other guests in the pool area. We travel for our kids sporting events too & our kids would never dream of behaving in such a manner, however the kids on this baseball team were given an inch and taking a mile because their parents weren't being, well, parents, & the hotel staff wasn't calling them out on it. The second night we were there, from 11:30 pm - 12 am, every 30 seconds to 2.5 minutes at least one kid would run stomping down the hallway past our room... *SIGH* There are also cameras at the ends of the hall but I guess no one was watching them or they were & no one cared because it went on for a solid half hour... Again, it's not the hotels fault that these "parents" are too lazy to be parents, but if the kids are ruining other guests experiences, the hotel staff needs to find out where the kids belong & reprimand the parents. I was up for a solid 3 hours after they stopped because I was just so annoyed, & this was even after I took something to help me sleep, it was that obnoxious... The entryway is nice with couches & pretty photos on the walls. There's a beta fish at the front desk which is a nice touch. I love the color green paint they chose on the walls up the first set of stairs. The fitness room is small but they covered the bases - treadmill, elliptical, bike, one weight machine. There were towels in there but the water bubbler was empty - fortunately I had my own. Breakfast is fine if you don't have any dietary restrictions. I'm a vegetarian & I can't eat dairy (well, I can, but then I'm extremely uncomfortable). The coffee is... well, it's hotel coffee. We just hit up the Starbucks at the bottom of the hill. There's cereal, milk, OJ, white bread for toast, white english muffins, sausage, eggs, yogurt, waffles... Waffles of course have butter & milk in them & most white bread & white english muffins have milk powder in them. So if I was desperate I suppose I could have had a few eggs lol. I just skip their breakfast. If the hotel staff enforced the rules that they set, this would be a much more relaxing place to stay. Despite the fact that they don't, I'm sure we'll still be back as this is the only acceptable place to stay in Niantic. The Niantic Motel is a complete & total dive, & the only other place is Motel 6. read more
