Husband and I checked in, went to our room which had a broken lock on the door handle. Inside of the room smelled so bad it gave us immediate headaches. Returned to the front desk, Melissa did not have another room available for us. We asked for a refund of our upfront payment and Melissa, manager, said she. cannot refund and we would have to contact the manager who was not on site. We will not get a refund from this dump of a hotel. We will never reserve another Sleep Inn ever again. This hotel is dirty and has transients hanging around. Someone smoking the jazzy cabbage out front. Those red flags should have been our first indicator things were going south, but we had just traveled 24 hours to get to Florida and were very exhausted. read more

Check in was an interesting encounter. Man at desk barely spoke to us as he spent a great deal of time looking up our reservation. At one point I offered him the confirmation number and he just shook his head. Check in took nearly 20 minutes. Room smelled really badly and the sheets and comforter had visible stains (pictured). I should have left but they would not refund and it was past midnight. Needless to say I didn't sleep much, and it was on top of blankets fully clothed. I asked for a service the next day and they changed sheets, much better. But then I dropped my sunglasses by the nightstand. When I went to pick them up, I noticed a pair of black lace panties on the floor that didn't belong to us. Front desk was helpful for getting service and when I discretely reported the panties, I got "oh,no!" And that was it. Bed was very, very hard. read more

I booked here due to no rooms available beachside and once we arrived I loved the place! The young lady who is also working this morning 5/26 was great and polite and it lead me to immediately book a second night......I ask for a 6am wake up call lastnight and never got a call ask the front desk "no notes" now me and my family have missed out on a birthday breakfast reservation and nothing we can do..... I usually don't write reviews but this review is a most. I'm currently staying at this hotel during bike week for work. Although this wasn't my first choice of hotels, it was responsibly priced. Once I arrived I was immediately concerned about my safety Due to the abundance of bikers and being a single female traveler. Stressed from work, I took an anxiety med at work and once I arrived back to my room I had a glass of wine. Big mistake. The mixture of wine and the meds I took earlier didn't mix will. I found myself poolside Incapacitated and unable to move. Immediately security came to see if I was ok. I told them I was fine ( but I wasn't ). Security left because I told them I was ok. Security new I was in an compromised sate and came back and made sure I got to my room safely. I thank these ladies so much. Anything could have occurred! Thank you for making sure I was safe. Don't over look this hotel. You will be safe, the security is A1. Thanks again! read more

The hotel has the potential to be great but there are major renovations that need to be done. The hotel staff were nice and pleasant. Check in and check out were smooth. The smell of moisture is the first thing that hits you when you walk in. It has a strong mildew smell. The carpet along the stairs and hallway were extremely stained. This unfortunately was the same when I got to my room. I turned the AC off and that made true mildew smell more bearable but it was still present after my 3 days. The room did look like it's pictures but I see why the carpet is barely visible in any of them. When turning on the lights, the lamp shades are stained along the inside. There are also rust stains on the sprinklers and light fixture in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean, along with the bed. I kept my slides on while walking around the carpet. I did not sit in the chair either as it was dirty as well. I am giving them a 2 due to the staff and me being able to make the smell bearable. However, there was Extended Stay across the way that I wish I kept scrolling to find. Same rates but the extended stay was just built. I should have taken the reviews at their word because they were unfortunately true. If this is your last resort because you need to stop for the night, then go ahead. But if you are planning a vacation and looking for comfort during your stay, do some more digging and find another place. read more

Stayed one night in early Nov 21. Here is what we thought: The good: Lots of places to eat near by, the lobby was clean and bright. The bad: (1) 1st room smelled like pee so gor another room immediately. (2) 2nd room had a bathroom with pocket door where the track was broke. Could not open or close bathroom door. Was told this was the only other room available. (3) The breakfast is a joke: cold cereal, instant oatmeal, and store bought muffins. No hot food. No fruit (thought we were in Florida?). No juice. Also, this hotel is near major rads and you can. here traffic all night long. read more

I would give it a Zero if I could, I am currently laying fully dressed on top of the sheets in which I hope they changed from the last guest. I have stayed at this hotel a couple years back and it was great. This time is fucking filthy, the light switches are dirty with something that I could wipe off so the cleaning people didn't bother. The towel for your face has pubic hairs still on it and the fire alarm is covered by a bag so it doesn't get triggered by the crack smoking happening in the room, yes there was a cockroach of course. The carpets are filthy and the smell of the room is worse than all the above together. Not staying in a sleep inn ever again! Oh yeah and on the parking lot there are guests doing lines off the trunk of a car so definitely not kids friendly. As a matter of fact if you have an enemy recommend send them this way!!! My son and 3 friends were on a road trip before shipping for the Army. The boys were turned away because they are 18. The third party we booked with did not list that they must be 21 to stay there. My son and his friends have a 23 hour drive ahead of them to get back to Wisconsin. After they get home 2 of them will pack up and head to Ft. Benning in service of our country. My kid and his friends can die for this country but they can't sleep in your hotel. I tried calling several times and the phones just rings. The third party tried calling several times and the phone just rings. You should be embarrassed. The staff at the front desk were very sweet this isn't about them. This hotel could get a lot more stars if the carpets were cleaned. The room and especially hallway carpets are very dirty looking and there is a very musty smell like wet towel throughout but it is 10x worse in the stairwell. It is very close to the road so depending on the traffic and time of day it can be loud which might not be great for kids. Having a pool was a plus but would have liked having an extra set of towels to use it. For the price it's okay for a one night stay but I wouldn't plan my vacation expecting to stay for more than that. read more

At first I thought it wasn't too bad. Appearance was good. Then everything became apparent. Moldy smell in room. Shower doors not installed correctly so water runs out on the floor. Lots of shady characters around. Staff seems to be on high alert. Stayed for three nights and had to get a new key everyday because after walking up to our room every time the key didn't work. Felt like we were going through customs to prove we were in fact staying there. Breakfast was typical "won't eat it" and the coffee was terrible. Don't know what smells worse, a bad smelling hotel or the stuff they use to mask it. Spend an extra $50 and stay somewhere else. Definitely not 3 stars. However after settle down laying in bed (which also has a yellow stain on the top of the comforter sheet) I went to get something out my purse......AND THERE WAS A ROACH IN THERE. after freaking out, I take a deep look all around the room and yet find another roach under the desk. i stayed here on may 9th....thru priceline....they are listed in daytona beach int speedway area which they are not.....also the place is super dirty....like huge stains all over the floor and nasty smelling....they list free hot breakfast which they dont have...they said corona....that was 15 months ago why is it still listed on site as featured amentity...basically this place is managed by a fraudster....listing things you pay for and dont receive...listing they are located somewhere they are not...and people wonder why they go out of business...so i will call and cancel charges on cc and file suit in 30 days when they still have hot breakfast listed robbing every hotel guest along with class action.... read more

If I could give this NO stars, I would. I was forced into this hotel by RedeemVacations and when I contacted them in regards to the roach infestation, they told me there was NOTHING they could do. I reached out to the front desk person & informed them one of their rooms had roaches and requested to be transferred to a nearby sister hotel because I was uncomfortable being there. The front desk clerk basically told me he couldn't do that & could only give me another room. Upon entering the second room, I noticed a tiny spider climbing the side of the bed. I was VERY DISPLEASED and uncomfortable with how things were handled as well as the fact he wanted me to OVERLOOK roaches being in the hotel. I am disappointed in RedeemVacations, Choice Hotels, and Sleep Inn-Ormond Beach because no one would help me switch out hotels and. This was unacceptable. read more

I didn't want to give even one star. I am so angry. I called this hotel to reserve 2 king-bed rooms. I confirmed the booking with my credit card and told the clerk I would be there in one hour. When I arrived at the hotel one hour later, I was told that one of the rooms was booked by someone else online after I reserved the room. I could have a room with 2 double beds (not what I confirmed with my credit card). Manager was not available to resolve the issue. What good is confirming the rooms with a credit card if they won't honor my reservation. I cancelled the other room and left to find a more reputable place to stay. I can guarantee that if I didn't show up, my card would have been charged. If my card is charged or compromised, they will have more than this review to deal with. Totally unacceptable. The stay was great overall. Ten minutes away from the beach and lots of little shops and restaurants nearby. You can also receive 10% off your meal at Applebee's and Chili's as long as you show your room key. The room was really clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that that walls are fairly thin, which can't really be helped. The wifi however was fantastic! Didn't have any connection issues my entire stay. Will definitely be coming back my next trip to Florida. read more

Gloria at Front desk was super friendly and helpful. She gave us all the information we could need for the area. She was so accommodating, we were able to check in early and get our checkout extended a little bit with no hassle. There were free cookies and a free hot breakfast. You could also get juice and coffee at any time. They're also great about providing any toiletries you forgot like shaving cream, so you don't have to go out and buy a new one. This was an affordable hotel, but just a 10-15 minute drive to the beach. The town of Ormond Beach was beautiful and not overrun with tourists. read more

I have to say that we were just looking for a cheap hotel for a quick sleep and back on the road for our long drive back to Ohio. What we got was a super nice, clean hotel stay that should have been double the price for the quality we got. The front desk even called our room after we arrived to be sure we satisfied with our room. I am sure they already knew the answer to that question but it was very refreshing to get a call like that. My overall time spent at Sleep Inn was less to be desired. Let's start off with parking. The Sleep Inn shares parking with a couple of restaurants. It proved to be very crowded and I had a hard time being able to park near the hotel entrance. The entrance had a homey feeling to it and the staff was ok. My family took up two connecting rooms. Both of the rooms were very humid and somewhat hot. I have no idea if they kept the widows open during cleaning, or what. Luckily, we came late during the night and were able to keep the windows open (because it was colder outside than in) and have the air conditioner blasting. The room was just passing the verge of being considered clean. The beds and chairs weren't the comfiest. In addition, one of the chairs had a worn-out hole in them. The bathroom was decent except for the showers. Never before have I seen a shower with no corners. It was the weirdest shaped shower I have ever seen! On a more serious note, the water pressure was extremely low. A light Floridian drizzle outside has more pressure than the showers. The check out was fine. I honestly wouldn't come back here. I also would not recommend stopping here unless you are veering all over I-95 late at night. read more

Stinky damp room. We were told the hotel was almost full so we were put at the far end of the hotel. Parking lot was very dark and I'm pretty sure we interrupted a drug deal when we drove around to the far door. To be fair, only one end of the hotel stunk, the other rooms may have been great. I have no idea why the hotel clerk put us at the far end, since there were less than a dozen cars in the lot and no one walking around in the morning. Would not stay here again. read more

I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. I reserved 3 nights...and had to pay in advance and then my business trip was extended by 2 days. I forgot to advise the hotel and did not check out on the 3rd day. I was shocked and appalled when I returned to the hotel on the 3rd day to find out that my belongings were all thrown in plastic bags and thrown behind the counter. Yes...all my business clothes in a wrinkled mess. While I understand that it was my error for failing to advise the desk that I would be a "guest" for another 2 nights there was a corporate credit card on file and a phone number where I could have been contacted. Furthermore the desk staff was rude and obnoxious. There was no manager on duty and staff had no idea when he is on duty. The hotel was NOT sold out as I was assigned the same room after paying for another 2 nights. I will NEVER stay in a Choice hotel again. read more

I spent 2 weeks at the Sleep Inn while my mother was undergoing surgery at the Florida Hospital in Ormand. Despite the circumstances of my visit, they made my stay comfortable and I found it to be a good place to relieve my frailed nerves due to my mom's illness. It is a mere mile from the hospital, btw. Many good restaurants and a big shopping plaza within walking distance, and a Wal-Mart to-boot. Very inexpensive, too, with a nice complimentary breakfast buffet on top of that. The rooms were clean, and the pool, and the room service personnel were curtious and catering. read more

The front desk staff were so friendly and nice! We stayed here for a golf tournament and it was a perfect find for the price! The room was VERY clean and seemed newly remodeled. The breakfast was decent, basic options but I was satisfied. The hotel is right next to Applebee's and Chilis so you can walk to them and get 10% off your bill with your room key. Thin walls, noisy room doors; not restful. Can hear people using toilets/ showers. Day staff (Paige) very pleasant & efficient. Night staff not ! Had issue with noisy "Guests" in adjoining rooms at 11:30 pm wandering the halls and yelling. Front desk staff was dismissive of our complaint because we did not complain about these people on the first night! Fortunately when we went down to the front desk in person (initially phoned but no decrease in noise) the supervisor of the construction crew staying there was there also. He promised us he would handle the matter and he did. But our sleep was already ruined and our stay was unpleasant. Mediocre breakfast buffet. Only real positives: clean room and nice housekeepers. Note to Choice Privilege members: rate quoted by Choice was a whopping $30.oo MORE than the coupon rate ! Still too expensive at coupon rate to only get a shower (no tub bath) and one of those horrible sliding bathroom doors that you have to be superman to close. Travelers on I-95 may be tempted to stay here because of the rate and it is a newer Sleep Inn. Do not!!! Back of hotel backs right up to 95. Even if you get a room facing Williamson the very Noisy, banging doors and bathrooms will keep/wake you up ( and I am NOT a light sleeper). read more

After driving several hours I checked in at 2am. The moment I walked into room 114 I was overwhelmed with the smell of wet moldy carpet. I immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved. Without question I was moved another room. When I walked into room 120 the room smelled fine but after a few minutes my legs started to itch. I looked down and saw fleas all over my pants. Several of them were biting my legs. I immediately went to the front desk to notify them they had fleas. After making sure there were no more fleas on my legs and pants I was moved to the second floor. When I walked into the room and once again there was a wet moldy carpet smell. I honestly tried to stay in the room but after 10 minutes the smell was giving me a headache. I went to front desk and told them I was checking out. I asked for a refund. They refunded me for the second night but I was told that the only person that could refund me for that night was the general manager. I returned the following day and spoke to the GM and told him about my experience. I told him the second room had fleas immediately he became agitated and told me that he does not have fleas in his hotel. He told me that I must have brought them with me. I asked him for a refund and he required me to bring back a receipt from the hotel that I moved to before he would refund me my money. When I returned with a receipt he questioned it and after if you minutes he finally refunded me my money. At this point I have yet to see the refund hit my account. I'm very disappointed at this incident because in the past I have had great experiences here. But I'm extremely disappointed that I was blamed for the condition of the rooms. I will NEVER EVER stay at this hotel again. read more
