let me start by saying--the sunrise view was stunning. The location is beautiful, directly on the beach. My first room? Definitely not clean. Towels in the tub, trash still in the can, and the bed wasn't made properly. Thankfully, the front desk staff was kind and quick to help--switched my room with an apology and no hassle. The second room was clean and comfy, but the AC never got truly cold overnight. Add in the ongoing renovations, and there was quite a bit of noise and worker traffic right outside my window during the day. Breakfast was super light--just bagels and spreads, so don't come hungry expecting a full Hilton-style spread. Overall, it was an okay stay. If the price is right, I'd give it another shot mainly for the view and location--but with a few improvements, it could easily go from just okay to great.

I'm actually surprised this hotel has only 1.8 stars. There are many great things about this hotel, especially the price! We were able to book a multiple beds room directly facing the beach for 150$ a night, which was already very cheap since most others would cost at least 1.5-3x the price. Since we went on Thanksgiving, this was a really good deal. I've heard that the rooms went down to even 100$ a night from the black Friday sales that unfortunately we didn't book during. When we booked in October, we were informed that the pool was undergoing renovations, but surprisingly they got it open when we arrived. The room we booked was quite spacious, but there were a few design elements that really baffled me. There was a small protrusion from the main room where a pull-out couch was placed in, and the lighting felt dull and just sad compared to the warm colors of the rest of the room. Also, the bathroom, which despite the massive size of the room, was so small that I could reach across it not just length wise, not just width wise, but even height wise. I am only 5'7 and my 6'0 tall brother actually felt claustrophobic while in it because in the shower, his head was very close to the ceiling. Also, strangely, the table had two layers, and apparently you could pull it out to extend the length of the table. However, this hotel does have a few downsides, including not having a microwave in the room. Also, for some reason, there are no lights surrounding the pool at night, so my plans to take a night dip were scrapped. Also, I found it surprising that the pool was EXTREMELY cold, and it was even colder than the ocean on the days we went. About halfway through our stay, one of the bulbs went out on one of the lamps, and when we contacted the front desk, they immediately sent out a technician to fix it. Also about halfway through our stay, one of the elevators broke down, but it was repaired about two days after it was reported. The breakfast attendant was also very friendly, and even brought out coffee for us when we were getting breakfast. Although the hotel could use some touch-ups, the little things like this definitely made the stay better. When we first arrived, I was skeptical of this hotel's quality control as I heard many negative reviews that were also surprised that it was in the Hilton name, but it was actually pretty decent. There was also a fun little easter egg where two model owls sat above the elevator shaft structure. If I ever go back to Daytona Beach, I am sure to stay here again!

Just a little bleach spray while cleaning would be helpful.

Cleanliness and amenities lacking. - [ ] The staff were all very nice and accommodating especially Zach. He was so helpful regarding things to do in the area. Delightful! - [ ] Having stayed here often in the last several years, when it was Best Western Castillo del Sol, we are very disappointed in the changes made by Hilton as well as the quality in general. - [ ] Below are some of the issues we experienced: - [ ] Pack of cigarettes wedged under the railing on our balcony should have been removed during cleaning. - [ ] Shower grout mildew. - [ ] No longer offering a hot breakfast like before when they had eggs, sausage or prepared food - [ ] No coffee maker in room - [ ] No microwave in room; there is one in the lobby for everyone to use. There is a microwave in the lobby where you check in for everyone to use. - [ ] 4 days in a row and there were no tea bags so went across the street to CVS to get some. - [ ] Pay for parking - That's new. - [ ] Difficult to find the hotel because the sign is not lit. - [ ] Unfortunately, we will not be visiting this hotel again. Having paid $657 for the first two nights and then another $1800 for the remainder of our stay, one would expect better.

    Blood...not ours...on the bedding

Hotel is run down and dirty. The room was fine but not great and the staff was rude from top to bottom. There was old blood on the bedding, the trash over flowed in the bins by the elevators on the three floors we were on. Only one elevator was working...sort of. For a property with the Hilton name, it was a complete shock at how poor the quality was.

So the hotel was great, in my opinion. Staff was great at check-in and the room was nice and tidy. It's also next to McDonalds and a gas station. Good especially if you have kids that only eat nuggets! Oh! And Cracker Barrel is next door, too. Which is always good. It's not more than 7 miles to the racetrack and right off of I-95 so it was easy to get out and get to the track. Definitely helped heading back after a long day. Breakfast was typical but not bad. I'm used to staying at the Hilton brands for work and these smaller ones have why you need...and it's included. So not much room to complain. If I had a gripe, a trendy barn door that doubles as the closet door and bathroom door. Doesn't, ahem, reduce sound when in the bathroom.

My recent stay at the Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach at 155 Interchange Boulevard, Ormond Beach,…read moreFlorida, 32174, was very poor. As a loyal Hilton Honors member, I frequently utilize the contactless check-in and digital key features designed to enhance guest convenience and streamline the arrival process. My experience at this particular location, however, starkly contradicted these anticipated benefits and fell significantly short of the high standards I associate with the Hilton brand. Upon booking my reservation, I was pleased to receive an email confirming my digital key availability and the option for a contactless arrival. This assurance, however, proved to be entirely misleading. When I arrived at the hotel, I found that my digital key was not activated in the Hilton app. My expectation of a seamless entry was immediately dashed when I was informed at the front desk that I was required to physically complete the check-in process, including presenting identification and filling out paperwork, before my digital key would be enabled. This completely undermined the very purpose of the Hilton Honors contactless program, causing considerable inconvenience and frustration. My attempt to clarify this discrepancy with the front desk agent, Brittany, regrettably escalated into a deeply unpleasant encounter. Despite my explanation and offer to demonstrate my active digital key option within the app, Brittany became immediately dismissive and hostile. She refused to acknowledge my concerns, instead accusing me of being "belligerent" while claiming she was trying to help. Shockingly, she then attempted to cancel my pre-paid reservation, an action that was fortunately unsuccessful due to the advance payment. Such professional misconduct is unacceptable and completely undermines any sense of customer service. Following this disheartening interaction, I requested to speak with a manager Jomarie Villanueva Perez a request that was denied. I subsequently reached out to the manager via email, detailing the issues I had encountered. The manager's response was not only unhelpful but also misrepresented the facts of the situation, offering an empty apology defending the employees actions. No compensation, or resolution for the extremely rude and hostile treatment I received from their employee. Beyond the severe service failures, the overall condition of the hotel was also disheartening. The property appears to be noticeably rundown, and I was particularly dismayed by a pervasive dog odor within the room. The hotel has a pet-friendly policy, which allows dogs for a nominal fee, the lack of proper cleaning and maintenance created an uncomfortable environment. Furthermore, the persistent barking of dogs was audible from neighboring rooms, particularly during quieter hours, further detracting from a peaceful stay. In light of these numerous and significant issues - ranging from the failure to honor core Hilton Honors benefits to egregious customer service and substandard hotel conditions - I feel compelled to advise other travelers to avoid the Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach. This experience was deeply disappointing and has unfortunately tarnished my perception of what I expect from a Hilton property.

I was very impressed by the room and kitchenette with full size refrigerator. All the basics you could need for a week on the beach included. The balcony was too narrow and the chairs were not comfortable but hey it's the beach so who cares. I kind of hate the breakfast in a bag thing and hope they go back to their normal soon. This hotel was right across the street from Ocean Center where we would be headed the next morning. The hotel was massive having a south and north tower with 16 floors on each side. My roommate and I were ocean front on the 12th floor, nearly in the middle of the south tower. WOW, what a view! I didn't realize until arriving to the room there was no balcony. However, you could open a regular size sliding door to see and hear the ocean. There were bars like a balcony in front of the sliding door but you could only step out one foot on the tiny platform. I left the door open while I was reading and it was so peaceful to hear the ocean;) Parking was nearly two blocks away on the opposite side of the street and across the street from the entrance of Ocean Center behind a barbecue restaurant. This was a bit of a pain pulling the luggage that far. Plus you had to go up a steep incline to get into the lobby. I could have paid an extra $20 for parking overnight if I had used the hotels valet service. No thanks lol! We did get a discount for the parking lot because we were attending the conference. Instead of $35 it was $20 (with taxes $23). The hotel was a little dated. The light over the sink flickered. But did stop after the light was on for a little bit. The beds however were up to the Hilton standard as well as the pillows, nice and comfortable. I shared the room with a friend from church. I liked the feature of having an extra sink and mirror outside the bathroom. There was a mini fridge but no microwave. The desk chair needed replaced as the seat was very worn in. Service at the front desk was friendly and they helped answer all my questions about parking. It was a little confusing because you didn't have a ticket and I couldn't figure out how I would get out of the lot when the conference was over the next day. But the front desk attendant advised they would have someone at the exit gate to open it when the conference let out. And they did;) Thanks for a comfortable night's sleep Hilton! I would stay here again if attending a conference that included a discount code as this hotel was pretty pricey.

The location was perfect, on the beach and directly across the street from the Ocean Center where the graduation ceremony was to take place. However, this hotel has definitely seen much better days! We paid just under $630 for an ocean view room for 2 nights with taxes and fees, including a $35 a night parking in an uncovered lot across the street. I expected better from a Hilton property! This is one of those "one and done" hotels for us. I don't mind paying a decent chunk of change if the quality of the accommodations justify it, but this place does not. It's like the management doesn't even try to improve guests' experience since they "know" people would book a room for the convenience of the location.
