Bought my $7000 sleep number bed which claimed to have a 10 year warranty as I would expect for this high end bed. After a few years the mattress separated from the base as the design was not great. I contacted sleep number support and I was informed that the warranty is a prorated warranty and I am only partially covered. Begrudgingly I agreed to pay the $465 out of pocket and assured that it would be shipped fedex within 24 hours. It didn't show up so I called and informed that my warranty mattress was out of stock and backordered for 8-10 weeks and they don't even have a delivery date. Meanwhile I gave an unusable mattress. No wonder they are doing poorly financially and can't supply warranty support for their customers and charge a premium for warranty replacements. We just bought a new home and since we are getting older we thought we would invest in a fancy bed. We were assured that if we didn't like it we could simply return it as we have a 100 day trial! After night five we were done. I called for pickup and was told we had to allow our bodies to adapt to the mattress so we were stuck with it for 30 days! After day 30 we called for pickup and was hit with the news that they were going to only pick up the mattress and not the base. So we are screwed out of $2500! Yes it was in the paperwork we signed but it was all electronic and the salesman explained what we were signing for each signature but failed to mention the possibility of the $2500 hit! And yes we could have read it when we got home but what's the sense in that as it's already a done deal it's signed it's done!! What it is, is very shady! And complete BS! $2500 is a lot of money to screw someone over with! If it's in the paperwork we had to sign it should be disclosed as we are forking out 9k for a mattress. It's sneaky and it's not right. We will be telling all our friends and family NOT to purchase a sleep number bed as they screw you over if it doesn't work out. read more

Here's the thing. The sale was great. It went smoothly, they let me lie on various mattresses as long as I wanted, everything was sanitary, and financing was available. All my questions were answered. It was great. But it's been about 2 1/2 years and the pump is broken. And the pump is literally the whole point of the bed. No pump and it's an air mattress that you can't inflate or deflate. Mattresses have a lifespan of 6-10 years in the US, and I have a 15 year limited warranty, so I figured I should be covered. No way that they would expect this incredibly vital piece of the product not to last even 5 years, right? I was wrong. Warranty coverage extends 100% for parts (but not labor) for the first year. After that, it's the customer's fault. Coverage declines to 35% covered (yes, a 65% reduction) after the first anniversary, and then a further 5% every year thereafter. This is crap. So I need to pay to have the pump shipped to me (at a very tiny discount), full costs of shipping because the technicians do not have access to parts, then full costs of the labor to have it installed, then full costs to ship the bad pump back to them. And tax. This is crap. (I could probably install the pump myself and at least save the labor costs, but it'd probably void what warranty I have left.) I loved my bed until a month or so ago. It was amazing and helped me get good sleep through some medical issues I had going on. I thought the company had done me well. I no longer think so. I will no longer be recommending Sleep Number to my friends and family. read more

I have had my Sleep Number bed now for 19 yrs. Lately the husband's side keeps deflating once or twice at night. Hubs LOVES this bed despite having to re-inflate it in the middle of the night. I also need the bed disassembled and moved as we will be installing new flooring. I called and spoke with Manny. I was pleasantly shocked that they still had the info from my 2005 purchase! Manny was exceptionally helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable. Manny actively listened to my concerns and was able to answer all my questions. I was so happy to know that Sleep Number will still service the bed AND can send a crew to help disassemble it when needed (this bed weighs literally a ton!). read more

Not happy with the fact that they sell you a base that is more expensive then the mattress itself, and that you cannot even return it so your stuck with it. Additionally they give you 100 nights to try it out but if you don't want to keep it they charge you $250 to pick it up. Now I have to spend a lot of time and effort to find a new mattress from someone else to work with my frame that cost me $3,500. Oh yeah I have a split frame also so guess what, its probably won't work with just any mattress since both heads of the bed come up separately. I just want them to exchange the whole set up for a new one and ill be happy but since they wont take back the frame I'm out of luck (SOL). On a separate note there workers in the store were great to work with and I have no issues with them. Maybe get the guy some help thought, he was all by his self on a busy Saturday. To sum it up I would recommend going else where since this place has such specific inventory that they will lock you in with and cant return. read more

Sleep number beds is a business that gave me a fantastic first impression. When I walked into the store, I was greeted by a highly knowledgeable and friendly salesman Jake. He listened to me and my wife intently and provided us with amazing customer service. I would give this business 5 stars based on his customer service alone, so why did I rate this business as having one star? Normally, when I get such a fantastic first impression I would at least give a few stars, but let me explain why you should absolutely not do business here, or any sleep number facility anywhere. The problem with this place is that customer service only gets you so far if your products suck. The sleep number bed is a gimmick. It is nothing more than a glorified air mattress built into the frame of a bed. From the moment we laid down, it was nearly impossible to find a comfortable position on any of the beds. The trick is to make you think that you have a certain sleep number, or amount of air pumped into the air mattress, that will make you comfortable. Despite trying out several different beds, it was impossible to find one that we both liked. Nonetheless, I was exhausted from trying all the beds and different sleep numbers, that I was considering purchasing one of them. The experience really wears you down and you have to be careful not to make an impulsive purchase. Do you like the thought of spending $12,000 on an air mattress? Yeah, that's what I thought. You could go to Target or Walmart and pick one up for maybe $100 and you would get a similar feel and quality to the mattresses here. I'm sorry, but I can't fall asleep at night on good customer service alone so we decided not to buy a bed here and I am very happy with that decision. The next day, we went to mattress world in Brentwood and purchased a Tempur-Pedic bed for about the same price. Every single bed at mattress world was leaps and bounds more comfortable than the ones at Sleep World. In summary, don't be fooled by the excellent customer service or lured in by the customization of your bed. At the end of the day, it is nothing more than a glorified air mattress. You don't need one of those, unless, of course, you really love air mattresses. read more

I wanted to be able to write a positive review, but after FIVE months of having my bed delivered broken and not replaced I simply cannot. I called the customer service numbers, emailed, wrote letters and to no avail. The bed and products we purchased were close to $7k, I understand there is a delay with Covid, but to deliver a broken (smashed and cracked) bed and make no effort to replace it after five months is inexcusable. We finally received an appointment for a replacement, despite having 4 visits from Sleep Number bringing out the wrong items, and to get those took weeks of me calling. I was careful to submit pictures and a clear description of the area damaged, it couldn't be missed....it was huge! Somehow they came out with random parts unrelated and no follow up or response after each visit. The store called after the initial delivery to see how it went and I explained the damage and they promised to call back, they never did. They never bothered to return my calls, which is the same with customer service. After months you'd think I'd get an apology, perhaps a voucher or offer for some free product like most reputable companies, nothing. I'd take your money and business elsewhere. read more

I gotta say I do not do a lot of reviews but I really liked our sales professional down at Sleep number in the Veranda Shopping center. His name was Juan Pablo (JP) and he was a pleasure to work with. Super knowledgeable and just a nice guy. We bought the Climate 360 in a King and it was expensive but the 100 day trial and the warranty made it feel pretty safe and the bed felt amazing when we tried it. If you think about it you spend almost 10 days a month in that bed. If there is the slightest chance in this bed improving our sleep it's priceless.!! Plus it has some super cool features that if nothing else are fun and innovative.! Lol.. the customer service we got made a huge difference honestly and just felt like we were covered if we didn't love it. Let me start off by saying this review is not necessarily for this business in Concord it is for a sleep number bed as a whole. I have to go to Yelp because the sleep number website will not allow me to leave a negative review for some reason go figure that.. Let me rewind about 15 years ago we purchased a sleep number bed special edition. It was the most comfortable bed we ever purchased and could not believe it. Overtime the internal makings of the bed have broke down slightly and they were very nice and giving us replacement parts however they do prorate them and they were very expensive. That still did not correct our problem started getting back aches and etc. after about eight or nine years. So we thought what the heck why don't we just buy a new special edition a bed because the other one lasted so long and it was very comfortable. Big huge mistake. From day one we got the second bed home after owning our other one for around 10 or 12 years and back aches were common. After looking further into this the second bed that we purchased which was the special edition was very cheaply made compared to the first one. Single pad on top allows transfer of weight to partner . Previous bed had to separate sides and the foam inside was super heavy duty. The new bed was so cheap they cut corners on the quality that it probably didn't cost him anything to make. The quality from the first bed to the second bed was unbelievably different. Nobody would help us nobody would lift a finger for us so after only in our bed for one year I took a razor blade cut it down the middle and threw it in the dumpster and took it to the dumps. They really change the quality of these beds I'm just letting everybody know. We went back to Mancini's and purchased a purple mattress which is the most comfortable and supportive mattress we've ever had. Hope this review helps you but stay away from as far as I know the special edition or the I 8 or the I 10. These beds are cheaply made compared to the ones yours ago. I went in the store the other day to take my cousin who wanted to purchase a new mattress. I purchased mine during early COVID lockdown so I did everything online. Which was a great experience for me. Well my cousin got hooked and wanted the bed. Off t the store we go there are like 3 staff members working. The lady who assist us first was nice. She stated they. Oils get to us in like 45 minutes. Cool we will do something other shopping. She proceeds to go get the appointment book from the other lady and they look of disgust on the woman face when she looked at changed the whole mood. So they have an appointment? Was the words out of her mouth. No appointment is required. The other lady was like I can fit them in. While the other lady was still looking at us crazy just get there number. As if we're not hearing this. The First Lady walks back and says we will text you and let you know at about 2:30 which is the original 45 minutes she initially said. 2 days later and we are still waiting on that text. The reason I am giving a 1 Star is because the first woman was trying but the other woman killed the vibe. Thank God there are other stores and so glad I bought mine online. read more

I guess I'll take the time out and write a review on this store In particular... let me start by saying that sleep number is a great company with a lot of room for different types of growth/ innovation. What brought me into the store was looking for a new mattress for myself and my young daughter ...you know something pretty nice and sweet for our new home. I myself recently got into a pretty tough car accident so a good comfortable place to lay at night was at the top of my list... ah enter sales person Wanita I'm not sure about the her sleep number setting 65? But other then she was a huge help I literally got to try all the beds and really got a clear ideal on what to expect and what I should want for myself when it comes to this and it fits. I took a look at very cool twin bed for my little girl as Wanita walked away to get paperwork and a male salesperson walked me through everything for the children set ups. I think his name up was jake I can't remember entirely. But this duo here working the store was like really cool. Yes of course the MAKE the SALE motto was here but that HEY MAN WE CARE ABOUT YOU was felt extremely. Thank you sleep number. Seriously. I'll be back ... with friends and family. read more

I already own a sleep number bed but wanted to buy a couple new pillows that would cost about $200. We walked in and we're greeted soon enough by a salesman. He told us that his manager was on their way back but he was with a customer. We told him we just wanted a couple pillows and he said okay we can ring you up when ready. We tried their pillows until we found the ones we wanted and carried them to the register. We waited patiently for about 20 minutes with both salesman in the store occasionally glancing at us but otherwise ignoring us. I'm guessing they work on commission and our measly $200 wasn't enough to warrant a cursory check. That's fine, we left the pillows at the counter and left. I won't be spending anymore money at Sleep Number and when I'm ready to upgrade my bed I'll spend my $8000 somewhere else. read more

I actually started to write a review earlier today but decided, against my better judgment, to wait and give the store the opportunity to make things right despite their prior scathing reviews. However, after wasting over 5 hours on my day off trying to get them to do what any retail establishment that claims to "provide a seamless end-to-end customer experience" should be able to do with ease but FAILED at MISERABLY, I realized they must have actually earned every single one of them. Today they went above and beyond to earn another one from me. Not only did they lack the most basic customer service capabilities (having access to an acting manager when the store manager is unavailable, the ability to communicate between departments and the inability to contact delivery drivers to name a few), but there seems to be no effective escalation process in place to deal with serious customer complaints and problems requiring immediate attention. Ummmmm.... I don't care how amazing or technologically advanced your product is if you can't effectively deal with customer issues and are completely incompetent at service recovery. If there is potential for problems (which there always is in retail-that's common sense), then you had better have a system in place to handle them effectively and QUICKLY. My husband and I are long-time Sleep Number customers. We finally came to the decision that it was time to purchase a new mattress-we didn't even hesitate-we knew we wanted a new, improved, luxurious, adjustable model from Sleep Number. We spent over 2 hours with a salesman named Bulent and ended up spending $8200+. Throughout the long process of trying out the beds and listening to the "spiels" on their technology and superiority over other mattresses, I SPECIFICALLY asked about the possibility of having any problem with having an adjustable bed with our current bed frame from Restoration Hardware. We were told VERY clearly that there would be NO PROBLEM. Imagine our surprise when the delivery guys showed up today, looked at our bed frame and informed my husband that the adjustable base would not work on our bed and that some modifications would have to be made to the bed to make it compatible. My husband explained that we were told there would be no problems with our frame and that even if we wanted to make the modifications, he couldn't do them himself because he injured his rotator cuff this past week . He called to inform me of the situation and that he had to reject the delivery. I was LIVID-especially after I had specifically asked about this kind of problem to make sure that it WOULDN'T happen. I immediately called the store from my car and headed in their direction. I spoke to Jake, who was immediately friendly, helpful, and seemed ready to take on my issue. He said all the right things. I arrived at the store, and continued my conversation with Jake. He went over measurements, details, etc. He assured me that he was pretty sure that they could figure out a solution to the problem, whatever it was. He said that he would try to find out exactly what happened and what the issues were from the delivery guys, but that he didn't have the ability to contact them directly and would have to call customer service. WHAT??? You sold me a $7500 bed, and you can't communicate with the delivery guys who have it in their possession??? That was the beginning of the end. I was told that the store manager was not available as she was at a conference. When I asked if there was not an "acting" manager available or someone in a position of authority, he said "Based on seniority, I guess it would be me." Ummmm, you guess? Is there not a formal escalation process? I guess YELP only allows so many characters, so let me tell you how this ended- I spent the next several hours on the phone and went through 4 people and STILL was not provided with an acceptable solution. Jake told me when I called back he couldn't do anything-that I needed to call the Home Delivery Dept. He did NOT follow through on what he said he would do when I was in the store. We ended up RUINING our $3000+ RH bed at Sleep Number's recommendation, can't use our old bed with it now and we are CANCELLING our entire purchase because they said they could not deliver today-that the drivers were done for the day-and they can not deliver tomorrow. Their schedule is full for the rest of the week. So much for a "seamless process" and quality customer service! Maybe the manager will care when she returns from the conference (I'm guessing it's on customer service?) and sees an $8200 return. I will be telling everyone I know about this one. Our top of the line Cal King Sleep number bed that is less than a year old is failing. My side deflated a week ago, I called customer service, at first they wanted to charge me 95.00 to have someone come out in three to four weeks to fix it. I had to remind them TWICE that it is under warranty, she finally agreed with me, made arrangements to send me new computer, which failed. She said someone would be out almost immediately to install the computer. This was a week ago, the new computer arrived, today I get an email saying it will be installed on the 30th, a week from now. I recently bought a sleep number bed & accessories from Concord store. Over $7,000 my bill came to. The customer service is terrible. They ship my entire of acessories in different orders with no package slip, charge me $199.00 to deliver it. Should be free. They say we e-mailed everything to me. I am 70 years old & don't have a computer. I am going to dispute my entire charge. I feel like a second class citizen. Screw them. They don't deserve my business. read more

As I type this the sleep number technicians are out here dismantling our bed for our move. They show up and ask for supplies. They wanted boxes! They brought old wardrobe boxes that were wet. I called sleep number customer service and they refunded me 50% of the cost but good grief am I angry. This company fails at customer service and is incompetent. I am not impressed with their bed, their customer service. Their attitude on the phone. If I could give them less than one star I would. Poor performance. Stay away! read more
