I want to start out saying I try to support local businesses when I can. I stumbled upon Clayton Furniture in search of a recliner chair for my nursery. I had no idea what style of chair I was looking for so lucky for me this store had a large variety to chose from. I was going to shop around a bit before making the purchase but I met the owner and he was so so so sweet and had a really funny sense of humor. I appreciate laughter. The chair I decided to go with was on back order but I was in no rush since I had a few months before my baby was due so that was not a problem. Once I received the chair from the manufacturer, it had a squeaking noise. A sound enough to drive yourself your crazy when trying to rock your baby to sleep. Not a good combination. I decided to call the store and spoke with the owner. He was EXTREMELY nice and worked REALLY HARD to resolve the issue. It took a few weeks for the manufacture to get back to the store owner but what I appreciated was the consistent line of communication on his end. He called multiple times updating me with any information he had and let me know I am still a priority in resolving the issue. It was eventually resolved and I couldn't be happier. We love our recliner and I plan on having this chair for many years! This store has a wonderful selection with high quality items. I definitely recommend buying from Clayton Furniture. f I could rate this place a -100000 I would. I genuinely regret spending a single dollar at Clayton Furniture. This was easily one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've had with any business.I went in looking for a sturdy bed frame and made it VERY clear to Tony that I did not want something flimsy or cheap because I've had one break before. I specifically asked about the return policy twice and both times he confidently told me there was a 30 day return policy. Based on that, I trusted him and spent $400 on a king-size bed frame. Big mistake. I picked it up, it was built the SAME DAY, and the second I got onto the bed, it literally broke. Not after weeks or even days. Immediately. That is beyond unacceptable. A $400 bed frame should not collapse instantly. I could have bought something cheaper online that would've lasted longer than a few seconds. When I called the next day to figure out a solution, I was met with attitude right away. Instead of helping, the person on the phone acted like I was the problem. Then I'm suddenly told there is NO 30-day return policy?? I was told to come in and speak with the owner, so I did go in and Tony was there, and the moment I mentioned the bed breaking, his entire attitude changed. He became defensive, rude, and completely unprofessional. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to blame me and say I "built it wrong," which is ridiculous. I wasn't the one who built it, my father was and he even told me that the bed frame looks really flimsy and low quality. The frame was assembled correctly it's just extremely cheap and poorly made. What's even worse is that the "30-day return policy" he sold me on magically turned into a "30-day warranty for parts." That was NEVER explained upfront. That's misleading at best. His solution? For me to email them the broken part so they could replace it. Meaning I'm stuck fixing a brand new, already broken bed myself. Not only that but even if they do get me the same part I'm still going to have to buy better, sturdier, and stronger parts which is going to make the price for this horrible bed frame go up even more. I should not have to put more money into a bed frame I paid $400 for. I sent the email as requested, and it has now been 12 days with absolutely no follow-up, no resolution, nothing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The products are cheaply made, the customer service is terrible, and the way they handle issues is unacceptable. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values honesty and quality. read more

The employees here are so friendly and knowledgeable. I referred my parents here because they just moved into a retirement home in the area and we were not disappointed. We came in during their Memorial Day sale and got my mom and dad 3 pieces of Ashley Furniture for their new apartment. The woman who helped us was able to give us a little help with the price when we told her my husband is a firefighter (I don't think it's a standard thing, but she wanted to help) so she deducted the taxes essentially which was great. The furniture was delivered to their apartment about 3 weeks later and it's all beautiful and was perfectly handled. The store is a little cute place on Clayton Road and it looks so authentic and like a real historical landmark for the area. I have no idea when the building was built or how long they've been there or anything like that, but you do feel like you're truly supporting the community shopping there and I like that as well. read more

We went to Lazy Boy, Macy's and a few other furniture stores looking for a rocking recliner. Practically no one had anything in stock and we weren't thrilled with the merchandise. We hit upon Clayton Furniture (thank you google), walked in, and couldn't believe all of the recliners and other beautiful pieces of furniture that they had. My wife and I walked around and pointed, I want that, and I want that....... We ended up buying a large TV cabinet, a perfect rocker recliner and a beautiful floor lamp to boot, all at fantastic prices. The Owners are super nice, helpful and so easy to work with. Even the delivery men were great. We told our kids and everyone we know about this gem of a store. I will be buying all of my furniture there from now on. read more

Purchased a mattress and a very nice bed frame and box spring very nice set. The company delivered during Covid so I had to help the delivery guy. Paid 120.00 for delivSpent over $1300 for the frame bed and box spring which I thought was a good deal. After I got the bed I noticed the side of frame was chipped and called the owner and he just wanted to offer me a store Credit of 100.00. I declined and asked for asked for a credit back to my credit card due to the manufacture defect and only had the frame less than 3 hours. I would of gave 5 stars but my bedframe base board came chipped and Damaged. I also wanted to purchase a sofabed but they would not match the price of other stores and it is Memorial Day weekend sales so will purchase elsewhere. As soon as I posted my review, I received a call from the manager (funny how that happens) and she had someone come out to look at the furniture. He said the issue with the drawers was because my house may be angled funny. I explained that my foundation is solid and pointed out that the furniture is placed in different areas of the room and other pieces of furniture throughout the house are not having this issue. Then he said it's because I need to open them with two hands. I explained that I've owned furniture in the past and am fully aware of how to properly open said drawers. Even though all 4 pieces have faulty drawers, they DID at least offer to replace the long dresser (hence the increase in stars). However, when the delivery men arrived with the new piece, the drawers were the same and the bottom one would not even open unless you absolutely yanked it will all your might. The delivery guy was very nice and said he'd need to realign the drawer tracks since they're crooked. So you see Christopher and Clayton Furniture, the problem is/was not with the wear and tear, my lack of knowledge on how to properly open drawers, or that my house supposedly angles down too much, but with the manufacturing of the furniture that you sold me. Now I'm stuck with new furniture that have roughly 17 drawers that need to be realigned. Thanks! read more

It is now 2022 and although it is old, it is still beautiful and has been so perfect for raising my two beautiful children. They would jump from it and we all have made so many memories. We had a general idea of what we were looking for and the owner, Suat and his sister were extremely helpful and patient in helping us sort through our options given the colors we wanted, space constraints and our price range. They let us take our time in sitting on and trying out different couches and dining table sets, giving guidance and advice when needed but never being pushy or "sales-y." They have a huge selection of furniture for kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms along with dining table sets so we took our time until we found a great couch/loveseat combo and marble-top dining table set. We ended up buying the couches and dining table set, along with a coffee table and two end tables that look great with our couch/loveseat for less than almost every other place we had looked at. The owners made us feel welcome and comfortable with no hard sales tactics or upselling. The owner helped walk us through the delivery timeline and pricing and made sure that the delivery guys reached out to confirm with us ahead of time. The delivery window was exactly as scheduled and the delivery team was prompt and professional. They have very reasonable delivery rates to everywhere in the Bay Area and will put everything together for you upon delivery, extremely helpful for folks without trucks or tools. We stopped in to look at furniture for our apartment. Were thinking of getting a new couch, bed and other stuff such as nightstands. We came in at 6:30 on a Friday with the intent to look around various furniture stores and do some comparison shopping. We walked in the door and the man who worked there yelled "Welcome" so we smiled and said hi back and continued looking. Right after that a woman walked around the corner and politely asked "Can I help you two with something?" We responded with "we are just looking around". After that she scowled and rudely responded with "Well we are closed, we closed 30 minutes ago" Okay... weird, and unfriendly. Plus they technically didn't close for another 30 minutes, but whatever. I have just moved to Concord from Norway and really needed a to get a bed after several days of trying to sleep on a tiny, hard matress. Gino at Clayton furniture was very helpful and sold me a wonderful queen size bed for a very reasonable prize! I got the bed the same day, even though it was Sunday. The people at the store helped us get it on the top of our car so we could take it home straight away. The service and prices are excellent, good quality and good selection. bought an Ashley couch and two end tables from them. Delivery a little confusing. got told one thing then another happened. got the furniture. The Microfiber couch smelled to high heaven of chemicals, so bad it caused headaches. THEN I went online and found out microfiber is made with PLASTICS. S#!T. My bad. Followed advice to spread baking soda all over, let set then vacuum. Nothing. Still headache material. Took cushions outside and really covered everything again with baking soda. left them outside for days, until it started to rain. covered the whole base inside again liberally in every nook. Left it on for days. Vacuumed. Better, but every once in awhile after sitting on it, I still smell the chemicals, but it's liveable and i'll keep dosing it with baking soda until I kill the smell. One other thing. No returns on orders, I guess that means if you buy something from their floor, it's returnable, but i'm not sure. I just can't get into another BS session with another salesperson. Also - I paid $595 for this couch not inc. delivery or tax. I went online to Ashley, they were selling it for $428. ( I did go to the Ashley store first but their sales people were so stupidly aggressive I walked out). No such thing as honesty anymore. or customer service. this bums me out. read more

Jim helped me and he was great! When I told Jim what I wanted he showed me items they had on site and if he didn't have what I wanted he showed me catalogs with great options. I bought a couch, dining table, tv stand, king size bed and mattress with box spring (I will attach photos). All of these pieces turned out to be what I wanted, beautiful, sturdy and Jim gave me a great deal! They delivered my bed and couch and put both together for me. I went back later and bought the dining table and tv stand. They had the dining table on site, I took it home with me and put it together myself, I'm fairly organized, so this wasn't too difficult and it looks great! They didn't have the tv stand I was looking for so we ordered one from the catalog. They put it together for me and I went to pick it up. The delivery guys worked their butts off and did a great job! As we were leaving they said please come back and we will take good care of you. We went to Ashley's furniture and had an awful experience. I remembered how kind the folks were here and we came back and purchased our beautiful dining set. They have good advice. They were patient. We looked at our table on Tuesday and it was delivered on Friday. We were able to sit down and enjoy our table. They set it up. Delivery charges and the price of the dining set were reasonable.
