Not only was I impressed with the selection, but the service, and the sales associate Gary Danzinger, was not only knowledgeable about all the products, he was sincere and low key in his approach. Being a doctor in the back industry, I had an idea of what I wanted, and Gary was 5 stars. Low pressure, he went out of his way to make myself and my wife happy. This is not the first mattress I have bought in my life, but I will say it was the best experience. I would highly recommend City Mattress, they have exceeded my expectations. Our experience started out great with Maria helping us in the store, but after that point it was…read morenothing but mis-communication, lack of communication, and overall a very stressful and disappointing experience. We would actually recommend people DON'T use Mattress Firm. We needed two mattresses quickly to the condo we just purchased, as my parents were coming to visit in 2 1/2 weeks. We realized that we needed to act quickly in order for them to have a place to sleep. On our initial visit to the local Mattress Firm, we promptly selected the mattress we wanted to order (we needed 2), and were told there were 3 left in the warehouse. We took the evening to think about it, and the next morning we called in to get exact specifications on the mattresses and place the order. Maria, the salesperson we spoke with, wasn't in but she had assured us she'd handle it and get it shipped in 2-3 days for us regardless. Unfortunately for us, she was impossible to get ahold of (She didn't respond to emails, and the phone number at the bottom of her emails was for a store at which she no longer works, which I called, and was (rudely) told that she no longer worked there). She had told us that she would make sure we got 2 of those 3, so we figured there'd be no problem and that worse case they'd notify us if they were sold. She also told us they would be delivered in 2-3 days so we also assumed we'd be fine taking the extra day to really be sure since delivery was pretty quick. After the weekend, we called into the store to place our order, and were now told that there was only one left (We needed 2). The salesperson we spoke with was unable to help us (and lacked the knowledge to figure something out), so we tried calling another store to get some help. Steve, the salesperson who we spoke with was particularly unfriendly and rude, and even made a snarky comment implying that we were taking up his time talking to him when he could be working on it. I get the logic there, and friends might talk this way to each other, but this is retail customer service. His rudeness made us wish we had the time to cancel the order, find another mattress store, and place an order there, but we didn't have the time to do that (with my parents arriving in just a week 1/2 by this point). After a few more days we eventually heard back from Maria again, and she said she was going to "work her magic" and get us the one bed from the Miami warehouse and the other bed from the Orlando warehouse. There was miscommunication here again as well. We were told we'd get them delivered by Thursday (this was Tuesday night), but when we followed up on Thursday (when we never heard about the delivery window we were told we'd get) we were told that was impossible. Once again, we couldn't get ahold of Maria to figure out what was going on. Then we got another phone call from a guy named Sean who was also trying to figure out what happened and what was going on. So much confusion. So much lack of communication and mis-communication. We didn't know if we were indeed going to have our mattresses in time or not. And at the price we were paying this should have been a completely stress-free purchase. Another day or so later we finally heard back from Maria with a new update on the order of things. Two separate shipments under one sale order. She did apologize for everything, and we don't blame her entirely for everything that happened. The blame lies with Mattress Firm, for their multitude of cracks in the system and failing management. It starts at the top. Last, but not least, once again a case of mis-communication (or lack of communication) after they delivered everything but the one mattress from the Miami warehouse we got a call from the Miami store that our mattress was ready for pickup. So we had to call them back and find out what was going on. They had to look into it, called us back, and cleared everything up, but seriously it was one thing after another with this company. Just a horrible experience. We will never shop Mattress Firm again and strongly recommend people do not shop there. You just don't know what kind of sh*t show you are going to get. We were pretty disappointed, frustrated, stressed out, and we were not expecting that kind of service with the prices we were paying. A hard lesson learned, unfortunately.

I worked with Maria to find the perfect mattress and pillow combination. She was knowledgeable and uber friendly, which made the whole experience all the more pleasant. In fact, Maria helped me realize, as a side sleeper, that I have been using the wrong type of pillow for years. Who knew there were different pillows for different sleep positions?! She also helped me find a better firmness for my mattress. Like the pillow, I didn't know the impact different levels of firmness can have on your quality of sleep. Now I do and I have only Maria to thank for this. She helped me weigh all of my options and find a mattress pillow combo that works specifically for me and my needs. There is no one-size fits all model here. Maria and Mattress Firm are about finding the right mattress for each customer. Her store will continue to get my business and that of all of my friends in need of a mattress in the future.
