This would be negative stars if it were an option. I have had my sleep number for about 5 years. It has had a chemical smell for at least the last year. Sleep number will do nothing about it and all they say is sorry it happens. So we really don't want to inhale chemicals all night while we sleep since we have no idea if it is unhealthy. This was the first time buying a fancy adult bed and George made it SO easy! I have never experienced a sales associate in any facet of business go to such lengths to bring down the cost as much as he did. He was super knowledgeable and made me try most of the beds despite me already having my favorite picked out. He did not push any extras (pillows, mattress cover, etc) on me, and was extremely thorough and helpful in the purchasing/financing process. We had been thinking of changing our old mattress for a while now so the first day of this new decade we decided to shop for new mattress. We had heard about sleep number from our friend last year but we never tried it ourselves. So we decided to go this store and try out all their models. It was late in the evening on New Year's Day and as we walked in we were greeted by the store rep immediately as the store was kinda empty. He very patiently explained all the functions of each of their models and we spent about 2 hours trying everything. It's a big investment so why not take some time before deciding. Also, there was a good deal going on and 0% interest on monthly payments. Finally after a lengthy thought process we decided to order their i8 model which is one less than their most expensive one. As the price increases the comfort level of the mattress increases well. Keep in mind that box set up is independent of their mattress. We loved their adjustable box so much that we ordered the top version which has various levels of adjustments including zero gravity, tv viewing, reading and other modes. Well in fact I am writing this review while resting on zero gravity mode. It's extremely comfortable. Well, after we placed the order, the rep gave us couple of options for delivery. We chose the earliest one. They proposed a time interval for delivery and I was very pleased with the entire process of their delivery and setup. The entire time took about 15 mins to get the mattress in and set it up. It works with your home WiFi and Bluetooth. So keep those two things in handy. We are so excited to try it and see how it feels to be sleeping on technically advanced bed. Hope it improves my sleep efficiency. read more

We are so disappointed with Sleep Number's customer service. Basically, once you make a purchase there, they no longer can help in any way. You have to call the Customer Service number for any issue. You end up waiting on hold for hours and then they send out technicians that really have no training in their products. I rarely leave a bad review, but this time I feel compelled to. We bought a sleep number mattress many years ago and loved it. We went into the store recently and the sales person sold us on a very expensive ($$$) bed accessory. We were excited knowing that we had a month to try it and if we didn't like it, we could return it for a full refund. Once we decided to get it, the sales person said, "Oh, we don't actually have it in-store, we need to ship it to you." Ok, totally fine. Then they charged us for shipping even though it wasn't our fault they were out of it in-store. Not only that, it was $40 in shipping! When we returned the item a week later, they refused to give us the full refund because of the shipping costs. Ridiculous. This is just bad business. read more

Purchased a Sleep Number bed 2 years ago. Delivery was a nightmare taking over 2 months to get all the pieces of the bed assembled. Customer service was a disaster and the Tysons Corner store took no responsibility to assist other than provide toll free numbers to call. Finally found someone that seemed to understand the system and got the missing parts . . . after 2 months finally got a complete bed. Now after 2 years the bed has a sway in the middle - be sure you look inside the bed when at the store - it's made of inexpensive foam (that breaks down quickly) with two air mattresses inside all held together with a cloth container - all at a dear price. I called customer service about the issue a few months ago. The warranty had expired (2 years parts and labor - rest is pro-rated) and after trouble shooting over the phone (to have a "technician" come out would cost $150, plus pro-rated replacement parts) purchased a new egg crate pad for $100. The new pad did nothing and I still have a sag between the two air mattresses that hampers sleep and has resulted in back pain every morning. After two years I am in the market for a new mattress. So much for the 25 year guarantee, a high quality product and customer service (although the last call was courteous and helpful as he read through his script, a call that ultimately fixed nothing). Forget the advertising hype and radio/TV endorsements, this bed just isn't worth the investment and starts falling apart after 2 years. It really is just an air mattress covered in cheap foam inside a zippered bag. Save yourself a lot of frustration and money by avoiding Sleep Number/Select Comfort - select real comfort by looking elsewhere! read more

Bought a brand new 360 I10 with faulty base. After an agonizing 5 hours of discussions they refused to replace it. Extremely poor customer service after the sale. Just needed the base replaced and I would have been happy but instead I am returning it. Also, they are trying to keep some of the money, so will have to continue the fight. Visited the Tyson's Sleep Number store on Labor Day weekend because they were advertising their "Biggest Sale of the Year!" Knowing that we were going to be probably going for one of their nicer models, we'd been waiting for the sale, because their sales people said their sale was huge and would save us a lot of $$. Well, we arrived Labor Day weekend and worked with a sales person over the course of an hour or so to figure out which model we wanted. We settled on the i7 350 with IQ tech, king sized, half split. We also selected one of their most expensive motorized bases, with a split top and both back and leg lifts. We also added the expensive feet warmer, which my wife loved. Total list price for the whole ensemble was about $9500. Yes, you read that correctly, $9600. Which is exactly why we came on Labor Day for the big Sleep Number Labor Day sale. [Given that this is a VERY high margin product, I was purchasing one of their most expensive mattress sets, and it was (supposedly) their biggest sale of the year, I was expecting the savings to be somewhere between 15-30+% off.] The salesman then went on to tell us he was going to compute our savings taking the sale into account. Drum roll please...............Our new, reduced sale price was $9300. Yes, you read that right, $9300. Total sale savings...$300. To save you doing the math, that's less than a 3% discount when you buy a mattress set at Sleep Number's #1 Biggest Sale of the Year. Needless to say I was a bit annoyed that the sales person had suggested I wait a couple weeks for the sale, instead of buying the mattress when I initially needed it. I was also a bit pissed that the company is actively misleading customers by touting this sale as a big deal, when it obviously isn't. That's a 'cash back credit card' level of savings, not a Labor Day sale. The sales man acted shocked and somewhat insulted that I wasn't blown away and more appreciative of the big discount he'd just granted me....the whopping 3% discount. Needless to say, we took a pass. If I'm planning to drop $8-9k on a high margin product like a fancy airbed, I expect quite a bit more customer service and respect for me as a customer from any company seeking my business. He worked with us to test out multiple beds and gave a very detailed explanation on the mechanisms of all Sleep Number products as well as the differences between each bed. When we have difficulty deciding which bed was perfect for us, Jamah helped us come up with a solution that worked for the both of us, specifically because I get hot at night and my fiancé doesn't so our sleep needs are very different. We bought a bed on their Labor Day sale. All beds on sale with one bed having a % off. This is our second mattress with Sleep Number, the first one is 25 years old. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Best investment in our health and happy sleeping. You get what you pay for and they have all price points. I have been waiting for my bed for over a month. The contract says it is to take two weeks and possibly up to 21 days. It was ordered on October 18 and scheduled to be delivered on November 3. Two days before the delivery they call to cancel it and set it for November 17 which I could not do. They could only reschedule a week later so the 24. Then they called again the Saturday before delivery to cancel that delivery and have it set for December 3. Keep in mind I have already been paying for the bed. I am beyond frustrated and I call customer service. As with every time I call their customer service number, a recording of the CEO comes on to apologize for the terrible customer service and long wait times claiming that they are having problems with their computer system. We have our own company and I understand that these things happen. But you have to work around it and find a way to make the customers happy. This is not at all what they are doing. The delivery company always calls to cancel on the weekend but I cannot cancel my order until normal business hours on Monday. So as soon as Monday at 9 am rolls around I am canceling my order with this horribly run company. If I wait around, I seriously doubt my bed with arrive on December 3 or ever really. The product may be great -- I will never know. If you want to pay thousand of dollars for an item you may never receive, and have customer service tell you I'm sorry there is nothing we can do about it other than to reschedule it again, then this is your company. If you expect to receive a mattress after paying for it sometime within a month and to be treated with respect by customer service, then take your business elsewhere. read more
