I was really excited to try this place because there's always a line on the weekends. We went on a Thursday morning, so it was not busy. There were probably about seven full tables when we started, but it looked like there was only one cook (that we could see). The menu looks good overall, with lots of gluten free and healthy options if you like. The food took forever, which was disappointing considering the limited crowd. It was more disappointing when the food arrived. Both of us got sausage that was as hard and dry as a hockey puck. The bacon was overcooked. My gluten free pancakes were good, but not great--a hard feat when you're combining amazing things like pancakes, chocolate chips, peanuts butter, and bananas. It is Saturday, December 10th and the 2 lovely ladies behind the bar were outstanding. Prompt, friendly service. A vanilla latte with almond milk is visually beautiful, the perfect temperature!! and wholesome flavor. Bee spoke scramble with a blueberry pancake to finish off, and I'm leaving happy. Even though the pancake takes a bit longer to come out, I actually prefer it because I eat the scramble first and then get a hot, fresh pancake for "dessert". Whatever sauce/gravy they put on the red potatoes is SO GOOD. Also, after I paid the one girl behind the bar with brown hair and glasses offered me a blueberry muffin!!! It was my first time coming here, and I love it! Definitely a great brunch spot. Their menu is pretty good, seems to have something for everybody. I got the avocado toast with a side of smashed red potatoes. Both were very good, but I recommend getting the toast without the raisins, I thought they added a weird unnecessary sweetness to the dish. My girlfriend also ordered the red potatoes, but she got 5 and I got 2, probably because you get more if you order a la carte? I was just annoyed that it wasn't explained to me that you get less with your entree. Service was pretty bad, at first it was excusable because the restaurant was very crowded but then it cleared out and it still took forever for the waitress to check on us. This is a great breakfast place! I have always gotten the same thing, the Queen City sandwich. It has goetta, arugula, apples, and egg, and some type of chipotle mayo on a ciabatta bun. The potatoes or comes with are amazing with the homemade ketchup! The sandwich had a bit too much mayo so everything slides off of it, so I had a few bites and decided to pull my sandwich apart. This time I decided to try a pancake on the side, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The pancakes here are seriously the best I've ever had in my life. Food was great! Had the blueberry pancakes and roasted sweet potatoes and I loved it. Even the drinks where good and we didn't wait to long. One thing was the service. Our server was nice but not to tentative. We got greeted right away but then waited awhile to place our order. Another lady came over and took it then our waitress came back awhile later. This is such a cool place in a very walkable neighborhood. It is a great spot to pop in for some breakfast. I ordered the gluten free pancakes with blueberry and a side of bacon. The pancakes were so good for being gluten free - definitely some of the better ones I've had. The bacon was nice and firm with a little crisp which is how I love it. I have been a happy sleepy bee customer for two years, until today. Where is the 0 star rating? I called the restaurant because we were 5 people and two babies. Expected to wait a while to be seated. I was told i can go on yelp for call ahead seating. I did. 5 people, plus two high chairs. After 2 hours of waiting we finally can get seated. I arrived and the table had 3 seats plus 2 high chairs. I went back up to the desk and let them know we needed two more chairs. We could hold the babies on our lap.They said we could not do that, that babies are people and deserve a seat at the table. That we had to call for a reservation and couldn't put it in online. This is the exact opposite of what I was told on the phone. I wish they would have called if there was any confusion with our reservation. Mistakes happen but I have never experienced such rudeness and unwillingness to help and judgement as a customer. I used to go here at least twice a week but they have lost my business. read more

We really enjoyed our visit today. Arrived around 2 pm, an hour before closing and were seated immediately. Our twin toddler enjoyed the menu/coloring May and crayons. Added bonus - the crayons were the triangle kind so they didn't constantly roll off the table. Toddlers enjoyed the "shape" pancakes that came with blueberries and bananas. I belong to a local run group that meets down the street thiS place is a post run tradition by many who rave about it so we gave it a try. The food is good. I wouldn't say great but I didn't leave hungry if that tells you the situation. I had the traditional fair of eggs bacon and potatoes. Overall the dish lacked flavor or seasoning. I will say the coffee a special blend was on point. However for the price I expect to be wowed. Instead it's diner food at an up charge. We were part of a group of 6. The inside is small so it took about 40 min for a set of tables to open up. Not a place I would recommend for groups unleSs you like waiting for hours. It has the feeling of a cozy local brunch place, and the food is prepared with great execution with fresh flavors. I had the vanilla oats, which has a hint of almond and coconut. I'm normally hesitant to get oatmeal at restaurants because they've normally been sitting in a tub for hours, but this one tasted fresh and creamy. The quinoa honey bowl was my absolute favorite. The couple potato chips was a bit random but the rest were a perfectly cooked medley of quinoa, sweet potato, and chicken. Add the avocado for a little bit of a creamy texture.
