    BLT+E w/ a side of goetta
    Scott N.

Met an old friend here for breakfast. The place is super cute and was quite busy for a Wednesday at 10 am. For a while there was just one person managing the place, i.e. waiting tables, managing the cash register, etc. By the time we left someone else was helping. We were in no hurry, so we didn't mind the short wait. The coffee was delicious. I drink it black and much too often I find coffee is not the focus of some restaurants. The European Cafe not only serves delicious food, but they also focus on coffee. Even my simple black coffee was great. I ordered the BLT+E, that's bacon, lettuce, tomato and egg on an english muffin. It was quite tasty. The side of goetta was nice sized, but seemed a bit expensive. But hey, I love goetta and wasn't going to miss the opportunity. We didn't know if we should wait for the check. When we were finished and ready to go, we simply walked up to the register and they were ready for us. I am guessing this is the checkout process. The entire experience was good and I'm glad we decided to meet at The European Cafe for our get-together.

I finally made it to The European Cafe in downtown Montgomery (right off of Montgomery Rd. by the Montgomery Inn). Indoor and outdoor seating, 2 large community table sped up seating on a busy Saturday morning (because more than 1 party can be seated at a table- similar to how some restaurants let you eat at the bar for instant service). The menu has lots of great options! I chose the lemonade and the biscuit breakfast sandwich with a side of jam. Everything tasted great, even the melted cheese! Price point was good- under $14 total.

My granddaughter and I were in the area and we wanted a sandwich shop. She had a Turkey Deli sandwich and she loved that they put cucumber on it! I had an incredible Short Rib Grilled Cheese! I'm so glad we yelped them, it's a darling restaurant. A place that you would want to come for breakfast or lunch! I would love a restaurant in my neighborhood like this one! Their customer service was great and it's small but very comfortable.

I don't remember what the name of the item I got off the brunch menu, but it was absolutely amazing. Goetta, Rosemary potatoes, a biscuit, smothered in pork gravy, topped with 2 over easy eggs... I wanted a reason to cry so that this bowl could comfort me and let me forget my sorrows. And I had gotten it to go! Plus: the service was great! Plus plus: delicious lattes

Beautiful cafe in the heart of Blue Ash. The cafe was buzzing with customers when we arrived. Lucky us, we found a table outside and where seated promptly. We where impressed with the friendly staff and really good food. I checked out the inside of the cafe while we where there and was impressed how clean the cafe was- despite the customer rush. That really shows that the staff cares. I also loved that that everyone acknowledged me with a friendly hello - so nice. 5 stars well deserved.

Finally got to try out this cute corner place in Montgomery! A bit of a wait on Sunday morning (post church rush), but got seated after some tables got bussed. The pastries were fresh baked in house and toasted up before served (chefs kiss croissant), and my husband and I enjoyed our breakfast wrap and sandwiches. They were kind enough to bring some milk in a cup for my toddler and tolerate her mild exploration around inside as well. Will be stopping by for an easy weekend brunch!

Quaint, delicious, tasty breakfast and lunch. Delicious espresso options. The loaves of bread looked heavenly. Will definitely try again.

The HUGE black bean breakfast burrito! It's hard to tell in a photo how big it is!!

Outstanding Brunch! I cannot believe we have lived so close to hear so long and have never been here for brunch. The food was so great!! You can tell this is a locally owned European cafe and market. We could have gone wild with dessert - but we came for brunch today. I cannot say enough good things about the food. My husband got the blt plus e. He enjoyed it so much. He wanted to lick his fingers. I got the black bean burrito. I wanted to keep eating but couldn't finish it - it was sooooo good. I noticed everyone was "cleaning their plates." FYI - There are lots of choices without meat on the menu. Plus, since everything is made to order - feel free to make a change. Check out the menu - prices are great!! Highly recommend!!

It's just okay in every category: food, service and ambiance. Taking all of this into consideration the prices are on the high end.

Busy place with good food! Adds 3% if you pay with a credit (not a debit) card…read more We got here without a reservation on a Monday around noon (May 2026). While they were busy, we didnt have to wait long for a booth. Our server quickly offered strong hot $4 coffee and a personal teapot to brew our $4 Earl Grey. There were season recipes available, but we found what we wanted on the regular menu. $10 Eggs As You Wish gave us two over-easy eggs, super-crispy hash brown sticks, our choice of slightly-sweet whole grain toast, and a $4 add-on of a savory oatey local pork-beef hash called goetta, much like Maryland's corn-based scrapple. We had more good old breakfast food: a $12 stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with whipped butter, light powdered sugar, a maple syrup, with a side of goetta included. Both were breakfasts that were a perfect traditional balance of flavor and texture. We had luscious $14 Smoked Salmon Toast on richly-flavored multigrain toast, made into a crunchy fresh sandwich with caper-dotted cream cheese, crisp cucumber slices, sliced red onion, and tasty microgreens. And we went vegetarian with $11.50 Vegetable multigrain Toast: creamy avocado, thick ripe tomato, pickled red onion, fresh cucumber, thin radish slices, and microgreens All of the food was delicious and creative, and that includes the tasty well-crafted vegetarian offerings. Prices were quite reasonable. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We ate at a leisurely pace with generous coffee refills, and never felt rushed. We envied those who thought to ask for patio-seating. They do add 3% to credit-card payments (not to debit-cards), which is posted so you know ahead of time. My only advice is to ask for a table if you find that a booth can feel a little tight. (Me :-). We loved our visit here!

I LOVE this place…read more They may single-handedly have the best margaritas in town. Tasty and strong -- just how I like them. Every time I go, the drinks are consistent and well-balanced, and they don't skimp. I usually pop in for a quick happy hour with friends or former coworkers, and it's perfect for that. So far I've had the deviled eggs and the potato latkes, and both were really good -- great little bites to pair with a margarita. The vibes are super cute, cozy, and welcoming. I cannot wait until the weather warms up so I can sit out on the patio -- it's going to be such a whole mood. The staff is always friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even better. Pro tip: if you get there around 4:30-5:00 PM, you typically won't have much of a wait. If you're in Blue Ash and want strong margaritas, cute vibes, and easy happy hour energy -- this is your spot.

Our server brought all three food dishes out at the same time, which we could not even fit on the small table without taking off some things to put on the bench next to me. The soup was tasty, but mostly large cubes of bread with practically no cheese at all. The Croque Madame had no discernible cheese on it at all. The worst part: we each requested a coffee refill (one was never offered), and our server poured half of my friend's topped up coffee directly from her cup into my cup! I was so shocked that I was speechless. To top off this incredible faux pas, she split the check into two without asking, and I was treating my friend. Instead of bringing a new check as I requested, she had me sign her tablet that just showed the total, with no breakout, had me fill in her tip, and then walked away with neither asking me if I wanted a receipt, which of course I did, nor providing me with one. The coffee thing was so gross and unsanitary that I never shall return.

Seated quickly, attentive staff, decent prices. This place traffics in excess. The food was all quite good as well, if not over the top at times. Great pancakes, delicious potatoes, slabs of bacon, and everything in portions bigger than your head! I think OJ was bigger than your typical Big Gulp! And no shortage of calories or fat. Do not come here expecting egg white frittatas and fat free yogurt parfaits (although I bet they have both - in gobstopper sizes) I would put the food quality above that of most mom and pop diners and far above the typical chain. But clearly not boutique or high end. Very accessible and something for everyone. While others call this expensive, living on the West Coast, where breakfast for a family of 4 can run you $200 without blinking, I would call the cost average, to a wee bit above average for the Midwest. Its definitely on the short list when we visit home again!
