Hotels near Arches National Park and Canyonland are going to be either really expensive or kind of dumpy. Obviously if you decide to go to Super 8, you shouldn't expect the Ritz Carlton. We chose the Super 8 in Green River since it was cheaper than the hotels in Moab, and we were driving from Salt Lake City, so it seemed like a good location for our travel plans. Overall, the hotel was decent and met our needs. Here are a few notes. Parking: Free. No issue finding parking. Cleanliness: Mostly clean and didn't see any bugs Amenities: Had shampoo, conditioner, and make up wipes. I was super happy with the make up wipes since I didn't bring my make up remover with me on this trip Noise: Depends on your luck. Walls are really thin so you can hear the neighbors' full conversation. We had a neighbor who was talking at 5:30 AM Free Breakfast: Pretty sad breakfast compared to other budget hotels. There are just the standard drinks (juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water) with toast (can put jelly, butter, or peanut butter), bananas, apples, and granola bars. I found this place to be a solid, honest,basic place to stay. My only minus would be the security lights shining thru the windows, but they have blackout curtains. Nothing fancy and no frills. Just a place to get some sleep when you can't push on any further on your drive. Upon check-in, you have to sign a waiver that states a pet will not be staying in the room. Strange, I saw numerous dogs and heard one briefly barking in the room next to me. Breakfast in the morning. Well, you'll see frozen waffles, toast, cereal, yogurt, bananas and oatmeal. Coffee was horrible and so were the juices. The total price with tax and a AAA discount was $73. When I asked him to apply tonight's stay to my rewards he said he didn't know how/didn't think he could and said I had to do that myself...,,when I asked him for Wyndham rewards phone# he looked absolutely clueless and said he didn't know it. Disgusting excuse for a hotel. This place was a true dump, I can't say enough about how bad this experience was. Stayed here thinking Wyndham has some verve, but was disappointed at every step. One bed was Rock hard, the other lumpy, carpets stained, mildew smell, non existent breakfast. For just a few dollars more I had an exceptional, world changing stay at the First Choice. Good stop for the night. Older hotel, but clean, quiet, with beautiful views, and price was great. There also an indoor pool. We received friendly, and accommodating service. The king bed was very comfortable. There is a mini-fridge, and microwave. Big television, although some of the channel reception was fuzzy. The hotel was clean, but not comfortable. The fans in the lobby are incredibly loud, which makes it nearly impossible to talk with the desk attendant. Furniture in the rooms is old & run down. Walls are thin & you hear doors slamming up and down the hall all night. Green River as a city is way run down (with the taco cart being a nice exception). Green River Utah super 8 Sucks! Reserved king bed room with pet on the Wyndham site. Called the hotel to make certain the reservation went thru. They said I would need to call back to discuss "pet issue,." Called them back and was told to call back. This happened 3 or 4 times. Finally I was told they had to manually switch my room to a pet room. When we checked in, the "pet room" was nasty. The carpet smelled like urine and dog poop! The king bed was NOT a king bed. The frame might have been, but the mattress and box springs were queen sized. I verified this with the mattress sticker. We have a little dog. He is fully house trained. It was ridiculous that we had to stay in this shit room...especially since we had reserved it online thru Wyndham with the pet filter on. Furthermore, this location had only hotels, motels, camp sites. There was no place to eat except to buy stuff like poptarts and chips at the gas station. They didn't even have a deli. We ended up eating stuff from our cooler, insteadI of driving 60 miles one way to find a fast food restaurant or eating from the gas station. Usually, we don't reserve a room before we see the hotel and area. Unfortunately, we did this time. If you can, pass this place up and go to the next town over! read more

Breakdown: Rooms from early 2000s maybe even 90s WIFI: Is a struggle. If you have a problem they give you a hotline to call for support. Breakfast: Is free but look elsewhere for quality. You really need to send Marcia, who works at the one in Green River UT, to some school for customer service. She was the rudest person, my husband went to check in and one of the first things she stated was no pets allowed even though my husband checked your website prior to making the reservation. I mean seriously no pets allowed but at check in she gives him a dog biscuit. Marcia told us we could not leave the dog in the hotel room alone, not sure how she expected us to have dinner or move our belongings into the room. The next morning as my husband was coming back to the room after walking our dog, there was another woman in the hallway who had two small dogs who preceded to start barking. Marcia came around the corner and started going after my husband as the lady had already went into her room. Not sure how Marcia couldn't figure out a small dogs bark compared to a large breed dog's bark. After grabbing some coffee and to go pastries I told Marcia and the other worker to have a great day. Not once did she look up and even acknowledge that someone said something nice to her. If she hates her job so much maybe she should quit. As for the room, it seriously needs a remodel but at least it was quiet. read more

We were passing through on a multi-state road trip with a toddler, and I wish we would have bought reservations months ahead, but we waited about 3 weeks before. For $85/$90 we got the Super 8, which wasn't too bad. Strictly "meh". But 3 stars seems adequate. We weren't expecting much for just staying one night, but we're still disappointed. Our bed was horrible and we tossed and turned all night. I woke up in horrible back pain. I think this convinced me to never stay at a cheap motel again if we can avoid it. We couldn't find a channel list anywhere, which was annoying. The TV looked nice until I turned it on and it was so grainy it looked 20 or 30 years old. My toddler almost ate an old vitamin or pill that was never cleaned up from a previous family, but thankfully I caught it before it went in his mouth. The whole hotel is dated. We didn't try the pool because we got in at 8 and it closed at 10 and we needed to get food. It smelled WAAAYYYY over chlorinated, but I still wanted to try the hot tub. We got back too late. :( when we needed another pillow for our toddler, they don't bring anything to the room. You have to go down to get it. But, that was a "meh" problem. More of a topping of issue. The breakfast was the most disappointing. I didn't think it was a skimpy "continental breakfast", but it practically was. I thought they'd at least have something warm/protein like sausage, but no. The breakfast selection was: Frozen/toaster waffles Bagged cinnamon rolls Quaker Oatmeal packets Kellogg's Special K cereal Yo plait yogurt Green bananas But it was the cheapest in the area. The motel is located in the middle of nowhere! Bed sheet and pillowcases colors were not white. They were more like reddish yellow color. Breakfast was okay. Friendly staff. Back door was broken and always unlocked, and everyone was able to go in and out which made me a little bit insecure. read more

This location wasn't so bad. We needed pet-friendly and we drive into town without reservations. And a torrential downpour was passing through. The front desk clerk was very accommodating. Same lady there this a.m. Still very personable. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. A/C isn't working too well. Nice grassy area for Bella to relieve herself...even have poop bags. We didn't eat breakfast but there was plenty of cinnamon rolls, waffles, cold cereal, and toast. If we ever travel through again, we'll definitely stay. Sort of long drive from Las Vegas (NV) and looking forward to our trip to Colorado Springs. This was our first stop on a multi state vacation. Arriving, the palce is well situated across from a gas station/convience store. The outside is well maintained and dealing with the front desk crew was refreshing. They were polite and helpful and their restaurant recommendation was spot on.The Tamarisk...very good. The room, ADA - Handicapped - was super clean and nicely appointed. The A/C was cool and quiet. The bathroom was nicely equipped for a ADA guest and the shower was a pleasant surprise as it had full pressure and was adjustable. The breakfast was adequate to get you off to a good start. The young lady who monitored it kept the food items refilled and the coffee flowing. Of course there are those that panic and need to have two of everything....but they were outnumbered by those that were polite and waited their turn. I have read several of the Yelp reviews for this motel and did not have one bad experience, especially with the staff. Maybe those negative reviews had an effect and changes were made. If and when were pass through Green River we'll stay at this Super 8 again. read more

Indoor Pool & Indoor hot tub Rooms were clean and the TV had cable channels. The staff was kind and the ice and breakfast were great for the price! Hot and cold options, including fruit, yogurt, cereal, but the coffee was really not good. Room had a bath tub and good shower. It was very quiet and we all had a good night sleep! For $84 - two queen bed for three - we were very pleased. Gas station, burger king and store within 50-100 feet walking. Otherwise the little town has the River's Edge Inn (I think) that has a restaurant. Four stars because on a 15 day road trip with my kiddos this was the BEST "cheap" place we stayed - bigger than the Inn in Santa Fe and it had a fridge! read more

Ok super 8. on short notice we decided to go to Moab for memorial weekend. Unfortunately everything was booked so we stayed in the nearest city, Green River. I asked for a frig and roll in bed. Got it; bed was $5 bucks extra. Rooms were a clean and decent. they have an inside pool, small inside pool. The staff was ok. The early morning staff; older lady was not friendly or helpful and thats why I gave them 3stars. Overall for 50 bucks a night it was worth it and I would do it again if I have too. The view from the motel was pretty cool; free continental breakfast with fruit, toast, Danish, cereal, juices and milk. One plus was the "Free wifi" ; 15 different modems to choose from so the connection was great. Not bad, especially after.see Bates Motel down the street. read more

It's super convenient to the Arches National Park, but not within walking distance of the attractions of downtown Moab (also not necessarily inconvenient, just don't plan on walking). They've attempted to modernize the rooms I gather, but I find the decorations cold and and somewhat lackluster. Though, they do have everything you may need. We stayed in early July '15. read more

This place is a dangerous vector for the spread of cover-19 that can be transmitted by any one and everyone who has stayed here and passed on all over. No one wearing masks, or gloves. One staff member openly coughing in the lobby. The receptionist was over heard telling someone that one of their co worker is out with pneumonia while in the same breath calling the corona virus a hoax. I know that if and of my family or myself gets sick and we can have it contact traced back to this hotel I will be suing. And I recommend if anyone who has stayed here in the past week or two and come down with symptoms I would suggest the same. This is totally unsat. First, the good: 1.The room was very clean and it even had a mini fridge, which we didn't expect to have. 2.Bed sheet and pillowcases were one of the cleanest I've ever had. 3.The shower head is big and it's powerful, with many graduations. 4.Indoor pool and hot tub (the hot tub jets are fake, it only shoots bubbles) but it's really hot. And it was open from 7 am till 10 pm. Very relaxing. 5.Free breakfast with regular and decaf coffee, milk cereal, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, toast, yogurt, apple and orange juice. Definitely more than expected. 6.Free wifi, is fast and with more than 10 connections. 7.Excellent location and price. While the Super 8 at Moab wanted more than $400 for two nights, I paid $155 at this location. For that price I didn't mind the 45 minute drive to the Arches National Park. 8.Lots of very clean and fluffy towels. Now, the bad: Extremely rude people. I avoided contact with them at all costs because every time they make you feel like you are a hassle for them. They even have a poster on the front desk that says: "If I had a dollar for every time I cared about you, I would care about you". My son was in line waiting for his toast to jump out of the toaster and a rude Haydee, was going to refill the coffee machine and instead of "excuse me", she said "WELL!..." to him. I don't understand why the owner of this location doesn't do something about their employees. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't doubt in coming back there, but just for that, I will deduct 2 stars from the rating and search for a different place next time. read more

I have a dog. My dog goes where I go. The Super 8 has always welcomed my dog. I appreciate that. the room is a hotel room. Basic but very functional. I slept very well in the bed. Do not stay at this hotel. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was very defensive when she claimed I had not called the hotel directly to reserve a pet room and claimed they had none available. Even though I had called the phone number available online for the hotel, the front desk still tried to claim I had booked through an agent that had not communicated with them which was not the case. After pushing the issue, a pet room was found in their system. Later in the evening, the front door lock malfunctioned and we were locked out of our room. There was no manager or maintenance staff on duty. When the manager did finally arrive and I confronted her, she averted eye contact and got defensive when I stated that this was unacceptable. The window had to be broken to get access to the room. While the hotel gave us another room, there was never an apology or offer to comp the room for our inconvenience. The manager never took responsibility and acted bothered that I made her come in from home. I will never stay here again - make sure you don't either. A dump would be an upgrade for this poorly run establishment. read more

Checked in, asked if there was a target or Walmart nearby. Front desk snickered. Was told to park in the back because I'm trailering a car. Tried to go through entrance in the back. It was slightly ajar so I figured it would be okay. Fire alarm set off and unhappy staff member came to tell me that it was an emergency exit. Then why is it open? Why is it not marked? Got to the room, took a shower (this shower is not for the tall. Well. It's not for the short, either. I'm 5'5" and it hit my shoulders when I got in. I don't want to imagine how my 6'1" husband would have handled it.) Went to blow dry my hair. Blow dryer overheated. Tried to call to the front desk, phone didn't work. Towel bar near sink hanging on for dear life. Forget about trying to sleep, as the walls must be 1" thick. Is it just plasterboard? Breakfast is just as other reviewers said. Mainly pastries and some yogurt. Oh, and my deadbolt on the door didn't actually work. At all. A random hair (not mine) in the shower, the sink had what appeared to be dried snot. Consider this as high as I'll rate any Super 8. On my cross country trip, this was the first motel we stayed at and, as I soon found out, the best. They have a pool, a spa, free internet, they're right off the interstate, the staff was friendly, the room was clean... I mean, what more could you ask for?
