We hired Vin and his crew for my dad's 70th birthday/family reunion. From the very beginning they were professional and communicative. On the day, the truck arrived on time and they got to work right away. Once the pizzas were ready, they explained the different topping combinations to the guests, and I was quickly surrounded by family telling me how delicious the food was! Highlights were the peach and goat cheese, the spicy pepperoni, and the Mexican street corn. Just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat any more, the dessert pizzas were put out and blew everyone away again. Vin was great about allergies, and even used vegan cheese we provided to ensure that everyone present was able to enjoy a truly delicious meal! Had their pizza at a catered high school reunion and what a delight! It was a chilly afternoon and I was lucky enough to have a few slices right out of the oven and it hit. I went into thinking "great, another pizza truck with *sh!tty cold pizza". It was the exact opposite. I will say that as the night went on they are not as good cold, but the staff was nice enough to reheat them. I would love to experience this again on a warmer day parked right next to the table to enjoy straight out of the oven. We are team New Haven pizza and they nailed it. I was happy to see an escarole version which is oh so underrated. Having just got back from Italy and having escarole on pizza, it made my day. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating and you can see that they were really working hard to put out amazing pizza. They care about their product. Food breakdown: Crust, soft interior and crunchy and slightly charred exterior in all the good ways. You can taste the long fermentation process in the dough- not quite sourdough but great complexity and not flat tasting. I base a good dough on whether or not I need salad dressing to get down the pieces of crust that didn't have toppings. Did not need the dressing! Also, most toppings went right to the edge! Score! Sauce: perfect tomato flavor with very little acid/tang, not sweet, just good ol tomato-ey flavor. Holds on to the crust well and no slipping! Toppings: great selection and great quality. If I had to say, MAYBE the size of the toppings were a little too thick cut as you got that flop and the pointy end. The crust is so delicate that the toppings should be cut a tad smaller for some , especially the mushrooms as they are heavy. Otherwise, the meat toppings were appropriate. Best pizza truck for me. I attended a company event that brought in these guys to serve up an unlimited variety of pizza for the employees - there is no doubt this was well received by all. Slice of New Haven showed up prepared and ready to feed the crowd and what seemed to be an endless line, the staff was definitely up for the challenge. I was impressed to say the least by not only the number of pizzas these guys can put out but the quality was outstanding and so delicious. I don't ever recall seeing a real wood fired pizza oven inside a food truck but it was pretty amazing and the team executed this event perfectly, this is definitely a professionally ran operation with a friendly and accommodating staff. This is like the ultimate pizza buffet on steroids I would highly recommend bringing these guys in for any event, everyone loves great pizza. I had a few slices at a catered event at Charlotte Hungerford hospital in Torrington a few weeks back. New Haven style for sure, but I was a bit underwhelmed because the slices had been sitting out for a while, New Haven style pizza doesn't it lend itself to be eaten cold. I shouldn't complain too much, as these slices I consumed were free, and I imagine the product would be better right out of the oven. But until I run into the Slice of New Haven food truck again, I have to give them a 3 Star rating for now. read more

She set down pizzas at a party I attended and I witnessed 2 people go over to them to get a slice and were scolded " not yet"! WOW. I wanted my guests to experience true New Haven thin crust pizza and Vincent and his assistant didn't disappoint. We were a group of about 40-45 people and were served at least 10-12 different kinds of pizza, salad, and dessert pizza. The dessert pizza included S'mores and the smell from the oven was incredible. My event started at 6 and they left New Haven at 2, usually a 1 hour drive, but with traffic they didn't want to be late for their 5pm set up. That was much appreciated, as I didn't need to stress about it. They came well prepared and were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them. read more

We had Slice of New Haven cater my sister's engagement party, July 2019. Reasonably priced, easy to work with, and, most important of all, DELICIOUS pizza! Vinnie and his team delivered! They were asked to cater a lunch for 100+ workers on a construction site and they handled it with ease! Although it might have been a new experience for them, Vinnie and his team came prepared and adjusted perfectly to ever changing conditions. They quickly set up and started cranking the pizzas out a fast as they could make them. The line moved fast and not a single person left hungry. You can't survive in New Haven if your pizza is subpar and these guys deliver, literally. I helped my friend arrange for Slice to come to the house for a party. They were incredibly easy to work with before the date of the event. I was pleasantly surprised by their prices, which were hundreds of dollars lower than other local pizza trucks. On the date of the event the team was so kind I was really happy to give them our business. Their options were classic and creative, all delicious. People at the party even said they liked Slice pizza better than other local trucks. They were also kind enough to box up leftovers, so some guests were able to take a box home as a party gift. I wouldn't say I'm hard to please, I'm just very particular and have high expectations and they met or exceeded them all. I definitely recommend them! read more
