We tried Jimmy's pizza after a recent Dave Portnoy pizza review. After all is right down the street from us and we never had it before. The pizza was served very hot and was very flavorful. It was great to bring it home and feel like it came right out of the oven. We found their meatball pizza to be better than Sally's. Their cheese pizza was very good as well. We frequent New Haven pizza places, but found this restaurant to be a nice change of pace. It was also a very reasonable cost, and the staff was very friendly. read more

We had been going to Jimmy's for a long time and last time we ordered a pizza my 9 yr old granddaughter found a screw in the pizza we brought it to the owner's attention and they asked us to bring it to them the next day which we did, they did nothing for us, no apologies nothing. We even told them that we had to throw out the pizza in case there were more screws, the owner seemed to not care at all never apologized or even credit us for the pizza that we had to throw out. There's an old saying I just made up that says "crummy pizza is better than no pizza at all." Well,sorry to say but the slices I just had here were in fact crummy. They were overcooked, thin, had little sauce, and they came to me out of a plexiglass box where it looks like they'd been sitting for quite a long time. I don't agree with bashing a business and that isn't the purpose of this rather than a wake up call or eye opener. we placed an order for a large bacon pepperoni pizza and a large salad with chicken. 1st off-there was prob 7 slices of pepp on the whole pizza. Like come on. I wiiiiish I took a photo, also we counted 3 slices of bacon on the whole pizza. not to mention it was F R E E Z I N G. Anyway, we got to the beach, open the bag and there's no napkins and no utensils for "takeout" also. dressing top was never closed and salad was a mess. it's sad because the place had serious potential. the flavor was there but the quality wasn't. this is a coaching moment to the staff, quality is everything. people willing to pay to eat out in the economy is a blessing you can afford to put more meat on your pizza and do the little things better read more

We ordered a large pie with meatballs and peppers. The pie itself was very good. Done New Haven-style. I like it that way. What I didn't like, however, was the scarcity of the toppings. A tiny handful of peppers dashed in the center of the pie. A handful of mini meatballs scattered here and there. And I paid $21 and some change for this pie? I know other New Haven-style pizzerias that are far more generous with their toppings and make it worth the extra $6-$8 I would pay there. read more

We support restaurants during this difficult time of social distancing. We've been steady Jimmy's Apizza customers for 10 years. But, seriously! The last three out of four take-out orders have been so burnt on the crust underside that the pizza needed to be thrown out. It just wasn't edible. "Buyer beware!" doesn't mean that while picking up a molten pizza, a customer needs to hazard burnt fingers to check the inside of the pie to check if it's solid black carbon. We expect more from Connecticut pizza parlors. Clean your ovens, Jimmy's Apizza! This is just lazy, wasteful business practice. read more

Have had takeout from Jimmys twice now. First time had a cheese pizza and bacon cheese fries. Second time enjoyed a Hogan pie (chicken parm pizza) and bacon cheese fries. We went to Jimmy's last night after waiting a very long time at another establishment down the road. We were seated immediately and the service was outstanding . There was a mixup with our order. Our waitress came over and apologized profusely and took full responsibility for the mistake. She brought us another round of drinks on the house. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best pizza's in CT. The crust edges are a little thicker than other CT pizza's but still have that proper dark bottom crust that CT pizza is known for and their dough is gorgeous where flavor is concerned. Personal fav is the Milford Seafood pie. You have a choice of shrimp or clams red or white. I always choose the shrimp with red sauce and cheese. The shrimp are large and succulent with that hot oven grill flavor. Another fav is the Buffalo chicken pizza medium hot. They also have really good garlic knots with a ton of garlic on them. We will start off with a small regular cheese pizza, perfect size for 1 person maybe 2, nice color, melted cheese, toasty crust, let's dive right in, one bite everyone knows the rules. hmm, good good good, great pie, new haven style thin crust, very good, we'll give it 7.9 and that's a review! Bonus pie, buffalo chicken pizza. different levels of heat to choose from, we went with medium, very good spice, breaded chicken, not overcooked. definitely could use a dipping sauce each or blue cheese but very good overall, 7.5! read more

To start, the young lady answering the phone knows nothing about Italian food, ordered a chick an parm hero sauce on the side, came in a platter and dried like baccala! I ordered brocolli rabe and sausage, no idea what cavatelli was so I got ziti on the side cause I'm carb free and I repeatedly said light garlic and it came LOADED with BS pre-minced garlic, I mean you cant even use whole garlic so I can take it out! Can't believe I haven't reviewed Jimmy's yet. It's my favorite pizza in Milford. Michael Anthony's is probably second. They have wonderful New Haven style pizza and have been around for years. I enjoy the garlic bread, fried mozzarella, and fried calamari in addition to their pizzas. They have so many great specialty pies. The Devyn (mashed potato) and Ashely (ricotta and eggplant) are some of my favorites. If you eat in, they usually have a couple good craft beer options too. read more

You can either come here for the dine-in or the take out. The dine-in section was pretty crowded since Santa was in that day, haha. So, we went to the take-out section and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You get to talk to the guy making the pizza, watch some TV and have a drink as you wait for your order to come out.
