Shout out to this hard working crew! I was selected as one of their winners for their 10K IG Giveaway! Today we went to pick up the prize- an EST EST EST tshirt and magnet. I'm in love with the green tshirt (my fave color!) in a medium size (like it was meant to be it's my size!) and the adorable pizza magnet that already has a home on our fridge. I let the owner/manager know it was my first time visiting in person and I had won the giveaway. He was so kind and hospitable. The other work assisting on the pizza oven was just as warm and inviting to us. We also ordered two slices of the delicious BBQ chicken pizza to go and a slice of cheesecake. Easy peezy, lemon squeezy. They were tossed in the oven for a few and it was fabulous! The pizza had just the right amount of char and bite plus the chicken, onion and BBQ worked perfectly together to make a sweet and tangy slice. Shout out and Thanks to EST EST EST for delivering to the local hospital so often and other great NH places!! I loved the little touches of welcoming Halloween decoration. The skeleton was super fun and pumpkins placed just so around the entrance make a cozy atmosphere. I snapped a quick shot of the mug with the mustache because how fun someone was chillin" on this dreary, rainy day with some coffee at this neighborhood spot. 5 stars! Please visit them soon. We'll be back!

Finally stopped in to try this place out. Late night wings that totally did not disappoint. Wings were crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside. The flavor of the sauce packed the perfect punch of heat with a sweet flavor. The spot was pretty busy for a after midnight spot. Definitely looking forward to trying more item on the menu.

Delicious New Haven pizza that is not burnt. Very thin and tasty. Not heavy, but the cheese was ordinary brand stuff. Get better cheese! Review: 4

After hearing so much about Est, we finally had the chance to stop in, and I can see why New Haven locals love it so much. Classic, no-frills spot, with just delicious food. Loved the calzone, wings, and pizza. It's nice to know there's a spot that sells slices in New Haven too, since many of the pizzerias don't, and that they're open for late night. Nice selection of desserts too. They handled the volume of dine in and takeout well. We would definitely return!

One thing about New Haven is that they LOVE their pizza here!! After trying some of the "big names" in the New Haven pizza game, I wanted to branch out and explore some other local gems. One thing that frustrated me about getting pizza in New Haven is that very few places do slices! Sometimes you just need a quick slice without having to pay for (or eat) a whole pie. Est Est is one of the few places I found that does slices and does them WELL! The pizza here is very reasonably priced and they have a nice variety of classic pizza flavors such as BBQ chicken, Buffalo, and the tried and true plain cheese. The pizza here is tasty and honestly I have no complaints! It's a solid choice for casual pizza.

What a solid spot! This is more than the 2am slice people know it as. Located right on Chapel st, it's definitely an easy spot to walk into while in downtown New Haven. It's rare to find a spot that serves slices AND they are good! We also really love the selection of pasta. The space isn't huge but plenty of spots to sit and enjoy. They even have a long center table for a bigger group. The staff is very kind. Overall, it's a spot I'll return to!

Pizza came out hot and toasty. People are friendly at the counter when ordering. The atmosphere is very New York pizzeria. There's seating outside as well for those who like fresh air.

I worked within walking distance of EST Pizza back in 2012, and that is when I started eating there regularly. Whether dining in, or getting food for takeout, they have so many choices of entrées, subs, salads, paninis, strombolis, desserts, and naturally, every kind of pizza there is.

Tasty pizzas! They have lots of options and toppings and even have gluten free options. Restaurant was clean and service was fast. Prices were good as well.

We get it - long lines create the illusion of demand, which then creates the feeling of novelty,…read moreuniqueness, value. That was what I thought about Sally's. Well the reputation of Sally's initially came from recommendations from acquaintances and uber driver. So I figured: Sally's must truly be the best pizza in New Haven the pizzz capital of USA (well that's what the signage at New Haven Tweed airport says!) So on a Monday mid-afternoon (July 13 2026) I made sure I put my Teams offline and drove to New Haven from Milford. Traffic on 95 but that's I guess typical. This doesn't happen in VA Beach where am visiting from; but not a novice in dealing with I-95 traffic since I've lived in Northern VA for 36 years. Anyway why am I describing all this? Is Sally's truly worth the hype, long lines and oh btw for pickup/delivery you get in line to order, and have to come back 45 minutes to pick up your order!?? The notable thing is that service is a 4 for takeout. You have to wait a few minutes for the staff who takes orders to be at his station to take the order. He disappears for minutes. But ordering was quick and when they tell you ready gif pickup by 4:15pm, it was ready (but of course got to get in line for that too!) The answer is: only if you don't want to drive to NY to get really great pizza. I ordered the garden (signature) pizza. It looked like a garden alright: vibrant green not overload of red pizza sauce or overly sprinkled cheese. The crust was pretty thin (way I like it) but not as thin as real pizza in Italy. The toppings were fresh. But it was on the bland unseasoned side. I'd give the pizza a 3.

We arrived on a Monday around peak dinner time, but there was essentially no wait (apparently uncommon according to my friend -- just a delightful consequence of dining at a college town during the summer). We split a medium pizza (1/2 elote mexican street corn and 1/2 bbq brisket), proving to be more than enough for two plus a more than ample amount of leftovers. Recently, I've gravitated toward thinner pizzas, a far cry from the typical Detroit (foccacia-esque) style pizzas I used to prefer, and BAR's pizza is akin to a flatbread yet very thin, another fallen angel to the GLP's. The undercarriage boasts a brilliant crust, almost cracker-like. However, it should be noted that the pizza is indulgent all the same. The elote pizza is quite possibly the most memorable, unique pizza I've ever had; it arrives almost crimson-red with a generous layer of corn and takis atop. It's still incredibly well balanced despite the hodgepodge of varied toppings. It's hard to pick a favorite between this and the bbq brisket though; while one is incredibly unique the other is simply sumptuous, nothing pedestrian about either of the two. The service is also impeccable, almost rivaling that of southern hospitality. I always thought Californians were friendly but something is in the air every time I visit New Haven. Incredible!

Also, the cheese was perfect with just the right amount of grease. Finally, the sauce had a savory tomato flavor which was excellent. I just wish they put more on the pizza. In similar fashion, the spicy shrimp pizza was very good as well. To breakdown, the shrimp tasted fresh and had great flavor. My only complaint was that the pizza was a little too spicy for my taste. This place is small, unapologetic, and full of character. Decorative firewood stacked with intention, walls filled with wine corks, and #10 tomato cans repurposed as pizza stands. Walk in and you immediately catch the vibe, exposed brick, distressed plaster, a slightly industrial, almost factory-style feel that somehow still feels warm and welcoming. The centerpiece of the room is the wood-fired oven, running hot and glowing with that perfect orange flame. The aroma of burning wood hits you right away and sets the tone. From that moment on, the culinary experience is in motion. We ordered The Mootz and Breaking My Meatballs. Both pies are built on a very thin, tender crust with beautiful leoparding. The dough is flavorful and clearly well-fermented. Sauce is applied with restraint, just enough to support the dough and cheese without overpowering them, and it delivers a clean, bright tomato flavor. Breaking My Meatballs was the standout. Homemade meatballs, herbed ricotta, cherry peppers, mozzarella, and that same balanced sauce. The cherry peppers bring a sharp vinegar tang that cuts perfectly through the richness of the ricotta and meatballs. Every bite hits a different note, and it all works together. Easily one of my favorites. The crust across the board was thin and tender with a delicate smoky char from the wood fire, exactly what you want from this style. Bottom line: Great spot. Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA).
