I'm surprised this wasn't on Yelp, although this is my first time at the Destin airport so I'm not sure how long it's been around for. This is a smaller airport so there aren't a ton of food options - I thought I'd be relegated to a cold deli sandwich so I was happy to see this place has hot options, albeit expensive. A grilled chicken sandwich (no side) was $13.99 and with my $3 water, with taxes it was like $17. Expensive but I added pickles to it and it was tasty. They have a variety of other sandwiches and there's also a bar area, if you want a cocktail or drink. Sandwiches, etc. are to-go but there are tables nearby, from which I'm typing this. (and WiFi)

Ordered a drink at the bar and jumped on a conference call. The server, Lourdes began moving the metal chairs and banging them into the metal rail to the point where I had to apologize for the noise on my call. Ordered a Rueben and as I started eating she sat across from me and used nail clippers to cut her fingernails. Clip by clip she brushed the clippings off her lap and on to the floor while I tried to focus on my sandwich. Based on the experience and the $17.50 Rueben (a la carte), I'd recommend eating before you get to the airport.

Well, the food is ok, everything is waaayyyy overpriced. The a Miller Lite tap is $11, for 20oz of beer. That may be ok for you, just seems high to me... your choice

POS making my sandwich complained about no tip. I paid $9 for a $2 sandwich. Get the tip from your boss Ner.

The bartender, Schickri, was amazing. Service was 100. A perfect morning before a long flight(s) home. Thank you!

We pulled into this little avant-garde grocery store butcher shop and, I'll tell you what, we were…read moretickled plum pink and then some. The place is a meat lover's daydream--goat, Wagyu beef, turkey, and more cuts of steak and chicken than you can shake a cast-iron skillet at. And the best part? Prices that don't make you wince on the way to the register. We sampled our way through like it was our civic duty, and every bite backed up the hype. The Italian cotechino sausage ended up pulling double duty--first in a pot of collard greens that could make a preacher shout, and then in a potato hash that was nothing short of sinful. The olives? Lord have mercy. Worth the stop all by themselves. Now let's talk atmosphere. This place looks like a gas station that found religion and got saved by a butcher block--and I mean that as the highest compliment. It's got character, grit, and just enough charm to make you want to hang around longer than you planned. Do yourself a favor: don't just think about going--go. Make the trip, take the detour, tell whoever's with you they'll thank you later. And for the love of all things good and right, get the tuna dip. I don't know what they're putting in it, but it ought to be studied by scientists

I used to go myself but now it is hard for me to get out and shop, I am elderly. One time when I went there to buy some meats, the owner gave me a ride home. This was very much appreciated.

We visited The Local Market because we kept hearing they had "the best Cuban in Destin." After…read moreeating there, I honestly do not understand the hype at all. First off, this is not a real Cuban sandwich. The bread was completely wrong. Real Cuban bread, especially if you've ever had one from Ybor City in Tampa, has a very specific texture and press. I even explained before ordering that I only wanted the outside pressed and toasted, while the inside stays cool. That's how an authentic Cuban is made. Instead, they brought out a sandwich that was heated completely through. The meat, cheese, everything inside was hot. It completely ruined the sandwich. When I politely asked about it, the employee seemed irritated and had an attitude about remaking it. They eventually brought another one out, but honestly it still was not good. The bread tasted wrong and the sandwich itself just wasn't enjoyable. It got worse from there. My grandson ordered chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were bad, and the fries tasted like old grease that should have been changed hours earlier. My wife ordered a shredded chicken and cheese sandwich that honestly smelled questionable, like the chicken may have been turning. The final straw was the fruit cup having visible mold growing in it. At that point we lost our appetite and decided to leave. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor food quality, bad execution, and not worth the money. We will not be returning.

The muffuletta was amazing, the chicken melt delicious and the turkey avocado was perfect! Order at the counter, and find a seat. Plenty of room inside and tables outside as well. They had bottle sodas and water, fountain drinks and a huge selection of beers, both domestic and local brews. But the food was definitely the star, absolutely delicious. I would go here again in a heartbeat!
