We visited The Local Market because we kept hearing they had "the best Cuban in Destin." After eating there, I honestly do not understand the hype at all. First off, this is not a real Cuban sandwich. The bread was completely wrong. Real Cuban bread, especially if you've ever had one from Ybor City in Tampa, has a very specific texture and press. I even explained before ordering that I only wanted the outside pressed and toasted, while the inside stays cool. That's how an authentic Cuban is made. Instead, they brought out a sandwich that was heated completely through. The meat, cheese, everything inside was hot. It completely ruined the sandwich. When I politely asked about it, the employee seemed irritated and had an attitude about remaking it. They eventually brought another one out, but honestly it still was not good. The bread tasted wrong and the sandwich itself just wasn't enjoyable. It got worse from there. My grandson ordered chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were bad, and the fries tasted like old grease that should have been changed hours earlier. My wife ordered a shredded chicken and cheese sandwich that honestly smelled questionable, like the chicken may have been turning. The final straw was the fruit cup having visible mold growing in it. At that point we lost our appetite and decided to leave. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor food quality, bad execution, and not worth the money. We will not be returning. read more

Wow, so happy that we found this place off the main drag and had lunch here! The meal was so delicious! The muffuletta was amazing, the chicken melt delicious and the turkey avocado was perfect! Order at the counter, and find a seat. Plenty of room inside and tables outside as well. They had bottle sodas and water, fountain drinks and a huge selection of beers, both domestic and local brews. After looking at the reviews, I thought it was going to be amazing but I think it was just average. Nothing just completely impressed me or overly excited me about eating it. I will say the service was amazing and staff was very friendly. The restaurant was nice and very well kept. I like to leave reviews as if I would come back again and again and I just don't think I would come back for seconds. The honey butter chicken biscuit was good. My fiancé rated it an 8/10. My brother in law got the bacon breakfast tacos and rated it 7/10 as it was nothing special. Very basic but we did get everything we asked for. My sister and I split the Philly cheesesteak just was not great. I was able to eat it but I would never eat it again. 5/10. I also got the chicken Cesar salad which was good. The Cesar sauce was very good. Probably 8/10! Overall, it was good but if you have other options, keep this one last or just don't go. read more

Sandwiches are delicious. They have a lot of unique choices. The people that work here are amazing. They are patient and helpful. There is also a line of hot sauces that we can purchase. Not quite sure how long this place has been around but, it was new to us. We go inside and it's not quite what we expected for a Market. It has quite a unique setup. It's adjacent to a Mexican Restaurant called La Paz. Both places have some odd hours. La Paz is open from like 4-9 and the Market is 7-3. We didn't have a chance to visit La Paz when it was open but, maybe next time. The inside of the Market has regular Picnic like tables for dining in and you can dine in at the adjacent La Paz where the bar sits. There are some pinball machines, clothing rack, coolers for drinks, food etc. What else is cool is that you don't have to just get breakfast here, you can get lunch items during breakfast as well. The Cuban sandwich is their best seller from what we were told however, we did not get that this visit. I got a breakfast sandwich with Bacon, cheese and egg. I forget the name of the dish my friend got but, it looked good. Everything was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed it. I also bought some of their locally made hot sauce. I got to sample them and the Garlic Cayenne was a hit with me. We were very pleased with the setup of the place and the food. We are hoping to visit the Mexican restaurant that is connected next trip. Overall a very satisfying visit and great people. read more

I was on Google maps looking up spots to eat at while in the city for the first time and this one popped up and I immediately saved it! I got the chance to go and it was incredible. The service was too notch, the setup and decor of the place is so unique and special which I really enjoyed, and the food was delicious. The Cuban sandwich seems to be the signature, and it's a tasty option...meats were tender and juicy, bread was fresh, and the sandwich was pressed nicely...quality take on a classic. And you get a choice of sides, so why not get tots or something else you don't see with a Cuban sandwich every day? Also tried the honey butter chicken biscuit. Name basically describes it. Biscuit had some good flavor to it, as did the breading for the chicken. Chicken was a tad dry, but that can happen, and I'd give this sandwich another go. Grits weren't bad, and part of me does admire that adding cheese meant a slice of American cheese tucked into the bowl...again, just adds to the vibe! We stopped in for a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The Local Market was, to our pleasure, not extremely crowded. I ordered the Buffalo Fried Chicken Sandwich and my husband had the Cuban. Unfortunately the ticket for our food was lost so we waited about 35 minutes before asking a food-runner about it as we had seen others who had arrived after us getting their food. After I inquired, we got our food within 5 minutes. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was a smaller piece of chicken than I was anticipating but it was tasty. I really enjoyed the homemade pickles and the Buffalo sauce was a bit untraditional and not super hot, but I liked it as well. The Cuban was tasty but a little bit dry. The French fries were delicious! The portioning for the price is very good as well. When we return next, we'll be trying some different items on the menu and hoping for a more seamless experience, but we really enjoyed it! read more
