The staff is always super sweet and takes everything they can into consideration. I always enjoy my services with Slick Rock--my only gripe would be that I wish they had an app for booking and also that the Post Falls store had more services. Staff is beyond dreadful. Beds are not working, specially the hydration pod. It was broken 2 months, fixed for 2 weeks, now broken again. No compensation. Simply an I'm sorry. Guys. Slickrock does have great beds and other services. They are always clean, and SOME of their staff members are kind. I worked here in college and then have been a member off and on since the south hill location opened in ~2015. Today I came in and my greeting was "do you have your card?" With no "hi" or smile or anything else. As soon as she scanned in my card another customer came up front with a question, the girl who was "helping" me stopped what she was doing with me and answered questions for the other girl and put her in for other services on the computer-- this probably took 3-4 minutes, so I just waited and then she turned back around and said she needed my card again. This is certainly not the first time I've been treated rudely by staff here, but it's really just gotten old. Prior to coming in today I planned to fill out the paperwork to have June 2025 be my final month at Slickrock for a few reasons; some being the rude staff, I would overall like to stop tanning in beds, and lastly because I am never told the same answer by two staff members. Examples: I was told my freeze credit would roll onto my second month and take money off which it didn't, I've been told before I needed to cancel my membership by the 25th of the month to have the next month be my final month. I confirmed this with today's rude staff member. Then as soon as I came out of my service I talked with a new girl and requested to cancel and she told me I have to cancel by the 25th of the month to have THAT month be my last. Who knows what is true--no one ever is on the same page here. All in all, today's interaction with the staff just really sealed the deal for me--if I ever choose to return to tanning in the future I will do so at another business. read more

I've had a membership at Slick Rock for 5+ years and I'm a little surprised it's taken me this long to write a review. I've been to my fair share of tanning salons, and Slick Rock is truly unmatched. The services they provide, the quality of their products, and most importantly, the customer service exceeds all expectations. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and incredibly helpful when determining what services and packages are best suited for you in order to achieve the desired result. I want to give a special shoutout to Paige and Madi at the Sullivan location. It's easy to see they enjoy what they do and where they work. I've been going to Slick Rock in the Spokane Valley for over 3 years and it has everything you could want! Friendly and professional staff that greet you and answer all of your questions and are happy to show you how to use any and all of the different equipment. The number of services offered are amazing, I still haven't tried everything! The atmosphere is relaxing and the establishment is very clean. 12/29/2023 I went into the Spokane Valley Slick Rock to prepare for a trip later in January. I was greater by Haley Lake, Asst Salon Mgr. She explained the membership I purchased. This is where ethics in question begins. Haley stated that it was very important to purchase one of their tanning lotions. She took me to the wall with several. When I asked the price since non of them had a pricing on the containers, she stated they were all about $80, however I would get 30% off that day. She recommended 2 then a 3rd saying the 24 Karat Gold lotion was fairly new and she'd tried it and suggested it for me. I didn't mind the milder sent so decided on that one. What she failed to inform me was the price difference. For 13.5 oz bottle, the cost was $138. She not once said anything and the way they work this is your receipt is emailed to you. They quickly put me in a massage chair before I tanned. Once I arrived home, I had an opportunity to review the emailed receipt. I went back 12/30/2023 @ 9am to confront Haley about this poor sales tactic. She was not there so I spoke with her mgr, Alyssa Coleman. She was very respectful and understood I was upset about the lack of integrity the way this sale was handled. She took back the lotion and gave me a credit, telling me she would address the ethics issue with Haley. I had another tanning appt at 3:30 that afternoon. I walked in for my 2nd tanning at 3:25 and was met by Haley. She asked if we could speak. She wanted to know how she could make this better, I told her the lack of integrity in the way she handled the sale and that she said she was the manager rather her being the assistant mgr when I asked her position the day before was just a huge problem for me. Ultimately, Brooklyn, another manager, came out as I was becoming ever so frustrated with Alyssa stating there was 2 sides to this and she was supporting Haley as that was her staff. Brooklyn was the most challenging. Ultimately, I let them know there was no way I could or would be able to trust them going forward. After several minutes going round and round with Brooklyn, she refunded my membership. I only ask that the sales tactic be addressed by the owners. I understand sales is the bread and butter, however not giving a customer the opportunity to know upfront all costs is highly unethical, hence my poor review. read more

Trying to cancel my membership the day after I signed up because the spray tan was so bad became such a nightmare. It took me weeks to get just a partial refund. They charged me $70 in total for a spray tan that didn't even come out right first I went into The salon the day after they were closed on Black Friday because I got my tan the night before Black Friday and the lady told me I would get a refund well it ended up never happening so finally I called customer service and they have the audacity to only refund me $32 And then to put the cherry on top. They offered me a complementary shitty spray tan that I'm never going to use because I'm never going to that salon again the place down the road charges $25 for an even spray tan and there's a really nice normal fair human that runs the place go there !!!Don't use the versa spray tan bed number 21 until they get it serviced. It's coming out in blotches and random parts of my body were still completely white. Other parts were very dark and I could feel it spraying in chunks. read more

The friendliness of their staff is hit and miss. My biggest complaint was when I couldn't make an appointment and tried to cancel it. Their emails are no-reply, I tried twice to call and after being on hold and remaining caller#3 the whole time, I tried doing it on my online account. Not user friendly at all. This is my wife's account of her experience: Today was the 2nd time that was ignored for over 30 minutes to check in for a scheduled appointment. I had a 10:30 appointment and arrived on time. The 2 employees were each working with potential new customers, including giving them a tour, going over packages, products, etc. I understand attending to the person in front of you, however, when someone has an appointment and it would take less than 1 minute to check them in, it seems absurd not to take that minute. When I finally left to do other errands at 11:02, I was the 3rd person to leave without being acknowledged. It appears that getting new business is truly the priority and showing any sort of customer service to existing customers is secondary, if at all. The only other businesses I know of that operate in this way are cable companies and cell phone companies. I returned after my errands were done to cancel my membership. The person behind the counter informed me that "everyone's time is valuable" and that at one point I had signed up too. This was exactly my point-everyone's time IS valuable. As a new client, I would have been happy to know that when I had a set appointment, it would be honored and that my time would be respected. Having the employee be anything but apologetic and actually treat me rudely simply added insult to injury. As I should have done in the 1st place, I drove directly to a locally owned business, where I was treated respectfully, and signed up. read more

They treat their staff horribly including managers! They don't get lunch breaks, and when asked for support none is given. Your ideas don't matter here what so ever. Good people get screwed while Karens get their way. You also do not have to buy products here just to use the beds, you can go get the same stuff from a different salon at a much better price and use it as long as it is from another salon, this excludes the hemp lotion you can get that anywhere and use it. The beds are the best in town, really. However, I agree with James R.'s wife's experience with checking in for an appointment. I've been a Slick Rock customer for 7 years or so. Often, it takes staff 20 minutes to get you checked in for a 10 minute tan because they are always helping new clients with all the forms, signatures, and payments, or upselling lotions, and don't have time to take a minute to check in existing customers with appointments. Sometimes staff gives away your appointment timeslot to walk-ins or new sign ups and you have to downgrade to a different bed or go to a different location. This happens mostly at the Valley location and sometimes at the South Hill location too. It gets frustrating. The business model seems to be to sign up new clients at the cost of existing clients. Also, the whole salon shuts down to existing customers on "Customer Appreciation" weekend and only allows walk in appointments encouraging only new clients to tan on the weekend without crediting the accounts of existing customer's monthly flat fee "all you can tan" contracts since the salon refuses to book appointments for existing customers. It's a frustrating juvenile business mentality but it is a tanning salon so I guess that mentality goes with the territory. read more
