Neither my husband nor myself had been to a Slim Chickens before, so even though we don't typically do a ton of fast food on trips because we'd rather go to local spots, we went ahead and stopped by. Unlike a standard fast food spot, they bring the food to your table for you and they have outside dining if you prefer. I got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries while my husband got buffalo wings with fried pickles. Food was fairly priced, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant (including the restrooms) were clean. This isn't a fancy place but the food was solid and I'd definitely stop by this or another location in the future. We were in town for a baseball tournament and searched for a place- Slim Chickens popped up & we gave it a try. When we walked in we were surprised there were so many tables were open because the smell was magical. Our family chose the little nuggets, two slim meals, and the slim salad. Everyone was VERY satisfied with their choices. Now let's talk sauces. They had about a dozen different sauces to choose from- all of them sounded so good- I tried the Slim Sauce, the spicy BBQ, the Honey BBQ, and the Ranch- all very flavorful! The staff were very friendly and patient- since we've never been there we had a lot of questions. They were very kind when barraged with all our questions! The chicken tenders were so perfect!! And tasted delicious. Fries were perfectly thin and crispy. & the seasoned Ranch was really good. This was almost a 5 star until I got the dessert in the jar. This was my first visit to this location. My wife and I decided to dine in. We decided to order a could entrees and one side and just split everything. We placed our order at the counter and headed to grab our drink and a table. We ordered 5 tenders, a buffalo tender mac bowl, and a side of potato salad. For our drink we did half sweet peach and half unsweetened tea. I love their tea, so flavourful!!! They brought the food to our table after only a short 5 min wait. The tenders were average in size and cooked perfectly. The buffalo tender make bowl looked so good. I had sweet red chili sauce with my tenders, a nice mix of sweet and heat. The mac bowl was so good. They start with a solid mac and cheese base. Good mac and cheese is sometimes hard to find, but theirs is legit. The tenders on the bowl were also cooked perfectly, the hot buffalo sauce and cayenne ranch sauce drizzles were a nice mixture and the scallions really drink it all together so nicely. The potato salad is pretty bacon forward, so if bacon or things that taste like bacon are not your thing, then skip it. I enjoyed it and would order it again, but my wife did not enjoy it. Just walked in for a quick dinner grab and was not disappointed. Our food was fresh and out pretty quickly. Slim's has a ton of sauces to pick from and we did the Korean bbq and the spicy bbq. I got the slims meals which was a 5 count tender meal with fries, toast, and a drink. Overall, service was good and this location is really clean! This was my first time trying Slim Chickens today. I got there around 11:30am so it wasn't too busy. I ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders with cayenne ranch and slim sauce. I got my food very quick, pretty much around 2 minutes which was awesome. I tried their brewed peach tea and I really liked it. The quality of the chicken is great! Not greasy and very filling. The fries were just okay I'd say. Nothing too crazy, but still pretty decent. I really enjoyed the cayenne ranch. I've been to this location several times since it opened and have ordered several items. We have done dine in and drive through. We received great customer service, the staff were friendly and the location was clean. Our first time we visited the location was via the drive through we ordered the Buffalo Mac and Cheese bowl (I forgot to take a picture) , the taste was good but the Mac and Cheese were too watery for my liking. Our second visit we dined in the restaurant and order the Salad, Chicken Tender meal and Wing Meal. All 3 items were delicious and fresh. Our third visit we went via drive through we had the wing meal with pickles. I could not eat the pickles they were extremely salty. The wings tossed in Korean BBQ sauce were amazing. We also had the 3 for 3 meal and asked them to toss both styles of chicken in buffalo sauce. It was delicious. Lastly we ordered Mayo Habanero wing meal with a side of Mac and cheese instead of fries. The Mac and Cheese was better this time around and not as watery. We tried their desserts in a jar which I forgot to take pictures of. The strawberry cheesecake was amazing the fruit was fresh, the Oreo cheesecake was my daughter's favorite, and the chocolate brownie was also delicious. Very Unsanitary Experience On March 5th at around 10:05 PM, I went to Slim Chickens in Davenport to pick up an Uber Eats order. When I arrived, the food was not ready. As I looked through the window, I saw the cashier and cook handling my order. To my shock, I witnessed the cook grab my food with her bare hands. I immediately yelled through the window, asking her not to touch my food with her hands, and she quickly went to the back. The cashier offered to get the manager, Chris, who tried to issue a refund but said he couldn't since it was a third-party (Uber Eats) order. This experience was very upsetting and completely unprofessional. Customers should be confident their food is handled safely and with care. I'm a huge fan of Slim Chickens and have visited many of their locations--but I've never had such a terrible experience as I did at this one. The food was clearly reheated: the chicken and fries were dry and stiff, and they forgot the parmesan cheese and the bread that are supposed to come with the meal. After we complained, they brought the fries fresh, but the chicken was still reheated, and they forgot the bread again. I've been watching this one since they started building and they opened a couple weeks ago. Today I finally had the chance to stop in and walked in. I was greeted upon arrival and asked if I was picking up. I should no, I was hoping to order. It was the lunchtime hour, and there were guests already dining but nobody waiting. I chose one of the two registers and placed my order. I downloaded their app because they're new and was awarded a free sandwich for the download. To go with that I ordered the fried pickles And a chocolate shake. Service was really good and everybody working was friendly and attentive. I placed my order to go and we covered all the bases. I was getting the sandwich, the pickles and the milkshake along with a couple of sauces to try. They had me have a seat while I was waiting. Apparently there was some confusion with some drinks and one of the gentlemen handling the to go orders walked over and asked me if I had a drink with my order. I told him I had a chocolate shake and they handed me one that they couldn't find a home for. The shakes are kind of small and thick. You do get a larger straw for them though. It was a reasonable wait for my food to come out. A gentleman brought it right to the table and thanked me. I took my order and headed out to go home. Apparently, I should've checked my order before I left the location. Bear in mind that they are a bit overstaffed still as they are a newer company. I do expect mistakes to still happen and the confusions they had they did handle things quite well. When I got home, I unpacked the bag which had two containers in it and some napkins. One container held my sandwich and the other one the fried pickles what was missing were the two sauces that I was supposed to get. I did check my receipt and the pick ticket and both of them listed them . This was rather disappointing. As for the food itself, I was not over the top about any of it. The chicken sandwich that I received was the cayenne mayo sandwich, which I had to get without the sauce. This was the reason I had ordered the sweet red chili sauce to go with it so I could have something with a little bit of spice on the sandwich. as to the sandwich itself, it was a bit limp. The chicken was kind of soggy and losing the breading. There was a pitiful amount of onion straws on top and it had one leaf of lettuce and some pickles. The pickles they have are very tasty, but the sandwich on its own with no sauce didn't have a lot of flavor. Thankfully, I have Tapatio hot sauce at home that I could put on it which made a big difference. The fried pickles themselves were kind of soggy and somewhat disappointing. They did have good flavor though and the Tapatio I used made a big difference. The milkshake was kind of small and ordinary. For four dollars it was a good milkshake. For me, they were about the third or fourth down a list of chicken places that are local. For the price of chicken these days I feel I can do better. I will go back to try their tenders and their wings and probably their fries as well, but I may dine in just to see if , the food is better in house than taking home. We visited the newly opened Slim Chickens just a couple of days after they opened. They were very well staffed and they gave us a friendly and warm welcome. This restaurant is very similar to a PDQ or Raising Canes. We ordered chicken tenders with fries and an order of fried pickles. Everything tastes fresh...the negative is that the the chicken was over peppered. Over peppered to the point that out of my three chicken tenders, I only ate one. The fries and fried pickles were over salted...like eating the ocean so we didn't come close to finishing anything. I'm hoping that this was just growing pains for them and that they back off on the pepper and salt. We will give them another try at some point down the road. The dining room was nice and comfortable. They have televisions on the walls playing a soccer game. We aren't into sports so that wasn't a positive for us but we also don't mind having it play in the background as many people love to watch. I request that my to go order meals have the correct items when the lady express my feedback with Jazmin she look at me and the coworker horrible and didn't care about the feedback. Day 2 of Slim Chickens being opened and we saw that the drive thru looked empty and pulled in. We decided to eat inside and I am so glad we did. Great spot to stop in and eat with family. We were welcomed in by all the staff and there were a lot. The man taking my order was patient and kind. We ordered kids meals and an adult meal. Ordered, payed and walked over to get drinks. By the time we sat down our food was delivered. So fresh! The toast was amazing, my wings delicious and kids loved the fresh fries. Kids loved the tenders and Mac n cheese! Servers checked on us multiple times to make sure we were happy with our meal. Owner came by as well and made my girls so excited to be here and gave us some yummy brownies! . Slim chicken indeed! The portions were not it. We visited their Davenport location and the best part about it was the staff. We got the club sandwich and the chicken and waffles and both were absolutely inedible. The chicken on the chicken and waffles was not crispy but oily and my husband was unable to finish his meal because the oil the chicken was cooked in tasted funny like a rubbery taste. The club sandwich was not any better, the chicken tasted like clay with no flavor. The lettuce and tomato did not have a taste aka not fresh and the bun was the only appetizing thing about it. We spent $24 for 1 tiny sandwhich (1/10 rating) , 1 soggy waffles and greasy chicken (1/10 rating), 1 oreo milkshake (4/10 rating ) and a $3.99 side of macaroni (2/10 rating) that was smaller than the size of my palm. Will definitely never be going back! You are better off waiting in the Chick-Fil-A line to get your money's worth! The ad did not say a minimum purchase so I made three separate orders was expecting three shirts.
