Visited Slim Chickens for a second try today. I ordered the club chicken sandwhich, fries and a side of Okra. The sandwich was solid but needs a different sauce. The fries were cold and plain (they should switch to crinkle cut). They advertise cooked to order and they serve you frozen fries. Sad! The fried okra was OK (you would think it would come with a dipping sauce for a very small $5.99 portion). The food came out very fast which goes against the cooked to order claim. I went once in Tennessee and was excited to see they came out this way and near me! I got the 4 piece meal and my bf the chickens which. I got the spicy strips- omg they had a kick. I don't do spicy spicy but I figuired ranch would calm it down... I had to dab some off (I don't do crazy spicy, but it just sounded good). It was still good tho lol. The chicken was very juicy. The seasoning started sweet and ended spicy. I loved the fries so good. My bf said his sandwhich was ok but nothing great. We would Definitely go back. Took my kids here the other week for some chicken. They are huge fans of Raising Canes (I am not..I hate that place...bland ass chicken...anyways!) so I thought we should try this place out. I went with a 5 piece meal, one kid got the kids meal, and my other kid went with the 3 piece meal. They come with fries and toast. You also get to pick 2 sauces out of about a dozen to choose from. I went with honey mustard and mango habanero. How was the food? 5 Piece Strip Meal- First bite in, I knew it was going to be good. Crispy, hot chicken tenders, with flavor! The dips were tasty! There was no line / no waiting on a Saturday afternoon. While not "out of the way" friendly, the service was efficient and my order was delivered accurately. Many competitors can't say the same. I ordered the Buffalo Tender Mac Bowl Meal. It came with two chopped crispy chicken tenders which were fine for fast food. The bed of Mac and cheese was creamy and ample In portion size. The Buffalo sauce provided just enough flavor without being overpowering. It was all topped off with scallions and crispy fried onions, elevating a simple dish. There was no mention of it on the menu board (for this dish), but the meal included Texas Toast (a slice of grilled white bread). It may be artery- clogging, but also light, crispy and yummy. A (16 oz. ???) fountain drink rounded out the meal. Price: $10.99. I guess I wasn't exhibiting much self control and opted for dessert. They offer both regular menu and seasonal desserts served trifle- style in a glass jar. Mine came with flavorful bits of cheesecake, firm (not mushy) strawberries and whipped cream. It reminded me a little of the trifles another fast food chicken chain offered many years ago, but with cheesecake instead of plain cake. At $6.99, the price was a bit steep for fast food. At least the glass jar is yours to keep and reusable. Overall, the food was good and on the pricey side. Unlike other fast food restaurants, no tip was expected, so it may be on "price par" with other restaurants. I hope they pay their employees a fair wage. read more

I've never been to Slim chickens before They asked for your name, which I told him my name drove up to the window The drink was overflowing. He said he would give me a napkin which he did not. They had my name wrong. I ordered the crispy chicken with fries and a drink. The chicken was so salty no flavor. I don't know what condiment they put on it but he couldn't taste it. I hope this is still "working out the kinks" but after these two visits, nothing about this place will bring me back. Tried again after the first not good visit and the food still wasn't good plus the service this time was horrible in the drive thru. There were only three cars ahead of me (including both lanes) and then moving up, a bunch of cars joined the other lane and moved faster than the lane I was in. When I finally got to the speaker the girl working it was acting like she couldn't hear anything which was definitely beyond frustrating. The cars at the window didn't seem to be faring much better. Some were getting their food thru the paying window, others being moved up to collect at the food window. It was just a mess. When I looked behind me, both lines were long. I waited over 30 min. We've always had a good experience with Slim Chickens but the quality seems to be going downhill fast... ordered a wrap for the first time and there was, at most, a single chicken tender's worth of chicken in it. It was like I might as well have not eaten anything for lunch. If you pay $14+ for a meal, you would hope to at least be full for an hour or so? So disappointing. Fries were cold and soggy, too. This particular location is right next to an entrance ramp onto the 101 off of Northern Avenue. Stopped by Slim Chickens tonight on the way to pick up one of my kids from an activity. If I was reviewing employees alone I'd say five sets all day! From the moment I pulled up to the drive thru the person was friendly and helpful with some recommendations and all smiles. Once I chose my order which was a regular chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich and the 7 finger meal with fries etc I headed to the pay window. Equally friendly, was given my drink and went to the second window for my food. This employee was by far a highlight. I wish I'd remembered her name. She said she was there to help this location out and was a senior at Sandra Day O'Connor HS, she was friendly, talkative, efficient and told us what she loved about Slim Chickens. She was a great first impression of this place. Once we had our food I pulled over to check it out and taste a bit with my son. The chicken strips were great, juicy, and the bbq sauce good. The fries were crispy. I'd prefer a bit more salted but still good. Toast was ok, but not a huge fan. Soda had good carbonation. The chicken sandwiches I brought to my daughter and her friend.
