Stopped out while visiting a customer out in Lebanon. Clean restaurant, quick service. Folks behind the counter greeted with a smile as you walked in, seemed like they actually were enjoying their job. Had the 8 wing meal, and you have to try the strawberry short cheesecake in the jar. I'm an over the road truck driver I drive all over this country and Slim chickens is by far the best chicken restaurant I've been to yes better KFC, better than El Pollo Loco, better than Popeyes, better than churches, better than Chick-Fil-A, you name it it is the best. Now I've never been to Canes so I won't compare the two but I will make it a point to go to Canes so that I can. They have a great selection of sauces to choose from way better than the sauces at Chick-Fil-A's no question about it! Slim chicken reminded me of Raising Cane with varieties of sauces like Buffalos Wild Wings. Drove through a small town and wanted to check out this new fast food place. We went through the drive through because we want to save time and there was no line on a Tuesday night. I would say Slim Chicken's chicken strip breading is lightly breaded(not crunchy as other place). We tried Honey BBQ, Korean BBQ and Sriracha garlic and we preferred the Honey BBQ the most. I sent it back and received new sandwich within 5 minutes ( clearly not made fresh again) it was warmer but borderline burnt again, barely edible. Our friends Chicken strips were burnt, fries cold . Mac N cheese old and cold. Very disappointed as this is one of our favorite places to eat. They need an adult supervising it as all I saw was kids working. We did not receive an item in our order contacted restaurant they refused to refund our money or re deliver the order without recharging us a deliver charge. We were driving thru on Highway 44 and remember Slim Chickens being close to the highway. We had never tried it before, but it was really good. In Saint Louis, we have Raisin' Canes and KFC, but I have to say, overall I like Slim Chickens better. The seasoning on the chicken was tasty and the french fries were really good too. I like having multiple things to choose from, including sauces. The restaurant was really clean, as were the bathrooms. Oh, and the sweet tea was REALLY good!! I ordered a chicken breast sandwich & added cheese. My chicken breast was overcooked, dry, & the cheese was a sprinkle of fine shredded cheddar. Not happy about that. Our fries were barely warm. My hubby had the 3 & 3. The strips & wings were good. I feel like our whole meal should've been hot it was lunch time & they weren't busy, so $25 for lukewarm food is unacceptable. The chicken fingers here are very good. They are a little more crunchy than some of the other chicken finger places out there. There is a good selection of dipping sauces as well as their own original which was pretty good. We also had their bone in wings that were also very good.
