    Macaroni Mac and Cheese
    Christina E.

The Mac and Cheese is out of this world!! I never expected the best macaroni and cheese would come from a chicken eatery, but wow. I mean just scope out the pic! Aside from the Mac and cheese, I was utterly impressed with the level of professionalism, accuracy of my order and the customer service I experience while picking up my catering order. The manager triple checked my order and even filled a last min gallon of tea, bc I forgot to order it. I will definitely be calling on Slim Chickens for my future catering needs. -pleasantly surprised

3 of the smallest "tenders" I've ever seen in a 6 finger $11 dollar meal

I ordered a five tender meal for 10.99. I'm just curious to see if you really are gonna try to tell me that these tiny 3 bites of chicken qualify as tenders...

Trying out Slim Chicken's in Ridgeland. It was grand opening tonight, the place was about 60% full at 6pm. When entering, you order and pay at the counter. Next you get a number, find a table, and they bring it to you. Your option is to get the wings/tenders coated for you or sauce on the side. I got the 8 wing combo (all combos includes med drink and French fries) $11 + 2 to upgraded to fried mushroom = $13. I got the wings coated in Korean bbq, and a side of garlic sriracha sauce. Second order we got the 5 x 5, five wings, five tenders combo $13 + $1.50 to upgrade to fried okra. Wings coated with garlic parmesan, sauce on the side was mango habanero and sweet chilli. I like my wings with no breading, skin crispy. The cook on the wings and lightly battered tenders were great. Texture and crispness is on point, just how I like them. We were able to try 5 different flavors. Korean bbq, mango habanero, sweet chili, garlic sriracha and garlic parmesan. The 4/5 sauces were very similar, sweet with a kick and Asian inspired. I enjoyed the garlic sriracha the most, I think we just got tired of all the similar taste, it was our first time, so we didn't know what to pick haha The man wasn't a fan, he said the 5 tenders were almost the same size as the wings, I agree they were small. He also didn't like that the breading on his tenders, okra and mushroom had very little taste. The concept of this establishment is in the sauce. It's not meant to be eaten as is, that is why they offer 17 different sauces, so there's one for every pallete. If they season the wings/tenders and then coated/dipped in a sauce, it could be overpowering in taste...so I see where they're going with this. Also he's a Texan and kept saying "That's not Texas toast!" Clean place, roomy with patio seating. Big screens for games, no liquor. Friendly customer service, food came out quick and hot.

Trying this place out, the chicken strips are cooked well enough but there's not a flavor that makes them stand out for me to come back. The service wasn't the best because the servers are all under 18 or appear to be, so they just don't know how to take orders and answer questions and show common courtesy as someone older expects. The fries are slim cut, and the bread isn't as butter as it appears, the sauces are similar to kraft dressing and the chips are cold (hot fresh chips are what I expected). All in all if you live on this side of town it's a good deal The manager did walk around when things died down, he seems nice and slightly older... And did check with everyone seated as to if they were enjoying their meal.

I do not understand this median? I've gotten my food, there's no parking to the right, hmmm? Mystery for now.

New Place so this is your holds no bar review. I have fast food, drive thru and more than 20 years customer service experience if that helps you justify my review. It is purely my opinion of course, except for the facts around time and quality. Customer Service: (4 stars)They were friendly, fast enough, and even asked if I needed ketchup....but forgot to include it, a spoon for my dessert and for my potato salad in my bag. They also didn't tell me what my 5+ min wait was on at the window but several employees were congregated there not doing anything. Chicken: (3 stars) I got 3-piece strips, grossly overpriced and in my opinion they rank somewhere between fast food non-chicken specialty and fast-food chicken-specialty. Meaning I'd get chicken from them hands down before McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy's, but I'd go to Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, Canes, or Abner's before them. (I'd never go to KFC - just don't like their flavor). It was not juicy, closer to dry. The pieces were on the small side, their batter is a bit salty rather than sweet, and soft rather than crunchy. Their House Sauce (comeback) is sweeter however which makes up for it a little, but I recommend the Cayenne Ranch. Fries: (2 Stars) Go to Kroger across the street, get a bag of seasoned frozen fries for $1.50 and you're one star better already. Many may like their fries, but I was disappointed. I did get a nice big helping of the straight pre-cooked frozen seasoned fries, but they were just BLAH! But I was starving so the Slim Sauce did make them edible. Potato Salad: (5 stars) Ya'll it was good! I would buy a family serving and pass it off as my own in a heartbeat. It was creamy and fresh and you know it was house made. If I do ever get chicken here again, this will ALWAYS be my side item! Fried Pickles: (1 Star) I was most looking forward to these. I could smell them all the way home! However when I pulled them out of my bag (they were in a paper box) I got so much grease on my hand I could've prepped a pan to bake a pie! The grease even looked at the bottom of my bag (gross). I could've powered a power wheels car on that vegetable oil for at least 2 weeks. I'm assuming the didn't 1. strain enough and 2. should put a layer of paper down to absorb everything like Popeyes does. The taste...eh... it won't surprise you that they tasted a lot like grease...and salt. One of the ones I ate had pickle flavor, but I gave up, my pipes were plenty greased. Dessert in a Jar: (3 stars) I refuse to give a 4th star for the fact that I got a jar...I paid for that jar, and I didn't even get a cheap plastic spoon to eat with. I got the Reese's Cheesecake. It wasn't anything special. It was literally chunks of Reese's and cheesecake and whip cream. I could make that at home and put it in a jar. It would taste better because I think I'd make a chocolate crust or something. The graham cracker crust + Reese's wasn't my fave combo. This dessert however was better than their fries and pickles. It is also a very good quality jar (not worth almost $5).

This location was the worst one I've ever been to. Leadership was lacking. Was in line 30 mins and never got an order placed.

Employees seemed to have no idea how to ring up and order. The manager seemed to be the only one that knew anything.

Food is very good and flavorful. I can't lie it's giving raising canes and zaxbys a lot of competition I will definitely be back

It took a while for the food to come out, and it also wasn't seasoned well. Like what makes it stand out from Zaxby's or Raising Canes?
