Wonderful ice cream! Cute retro decor and ambiance. Only 1 woman was working on Saturday night and she was bombarded with customers. They let you get samples which is good because there are so many options for flavors. It's a bit pricey at $7.50/scoop (with +$1.50 for a waffle cone), it is a large portion. I like the games inside and there is a lot of seating both indoors and out. read more

Came here on a Saturday evening for some ice cream!it's of fun flavors and loved the creativity. My boyfriend got a double scoop in a waffle cone with the Exhausted Parent and another one that I can't remember but it had fudge. His was really good. The Exhausted Parent is bourbon and espresso with some other mix ins I think. I got the mint chip and the most popular flavor which I can't recall the name of but it has Salted caramel, fudge and cashews. Consistency of the ice cream was great and service was good:) Good spot!! read more

Quite delicious ice cream parlor in downtown San Luis Obispo. I couldn't decide on just one flavor, so I got one of the ones with peanut butter on top and then brownie one on the bottom. I saw they also had an option with ice cream on a waffle or brownie, but I was too full from my dinner at Kiko's down the street to go that route. They have a nice seating area in front. Definitely a good place to go for a cold dessert! read more

The cute ice cream shop caught my eye on a cool Wednesday night. There were plenty of college aged people hanging out on the street outside. My after dinner treat was a sweet cup of ice cream as I walked around the downtown area. Plenty of flavors to choose from and free samples for days. I have beencoming to SLO a' La Mode for quite some time now and it never disappoints! I come down to SLO to visit my daughter at Cal Poly OFTEN and I cannot go home without having some delicious ice cream. My favorite flavor is Iced Latte-Da, but Exhausted Parent is yummy too. And let's not forget Ben behind the counter providing great customer service. He is always super friendly and has a great memory. read more

They offer a lot of regular flavors and special mixed flavors - some of which reminds me of Coldstone Creations (in a good way!). There are vegan and oat flavors as well. It's hard to mess up ice cream but there were flies the second you walk into the shop. The man that served us was on the phone the entire time, obviously not caring about service. And the ice cream had ice shards throughout the scoop. I would rather drive 15 minutes to the ocean and freeze some salt water, that would've given me a more enjoyable experience read more

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience this evening. We came in with our whole family.....four adults and five kids. My oldest has an egg allergy (which is in the top 5 most common allergies). We asked which flavors had egg. The young lady behind the counter had no idea. We asked if she had an ingredient list. She flipped threw a binder but came back with no answers . We asked her if there was anyone she could call. There was no one else waiting in line, it was just us. So no other customers were waiting. She called the manager and when she got off the phone, she said the manager told her to tell us not to get any ice cream because they didn't know. So we left. I am extremely shocked that they didn't have an ingredient list for the most common allergies. We went to mcconnels,one street over, and they knew exactly which flavors were egg free. Kids with allergies deserve ice cream to. read more

I live out of the area but I come here every chance I get! Their ice cream has the best consistency and they truly have great flavors. Once, I even tried their sugar free ice cream and i didnt want to believe it was sugar free! It tasted so delicious! They are ao incredibly friendly also! But besides their ice cream and friendliness, im really wanting to post this because of their customer service!!! My father is a regular. He had been looking for a place to replace old doc Bernsteins ice cream and he found it here! Every Thursday night during farmers market, he goes there and gets the black raspberry ice cream. He absolutely loves it! We found out that when they get close to running out of that ice cream, they would save a scoop of it just for my dad. How amazing is it to find service like that. My son got the birthday cake ice cream, which he absolutely loved. And I was super excited to see they had 2 non-dairy, oat ice cream, options. My boyfriend and I stopped by this place for breakfast (because ice cream for breakfast is the best way to do vacation) and we were welcomed despite technically not being open yet.
