Lots of take out orders and I used my Door dash/Chase reward to get $5 off their pepperoni pizza. Thin crust with lots of pepperoni but super oily . Tomato sauce isn't overpowering. 5 stars Staff- 3 people making pizza. Don't expect them to greet and say hello. Stopped by Humble Oven at the Public Market and definitely left impressed. Ordered the pasta with marinara and a pepperoni pizza and both were packed with flavor. Do yourself a favor and get the ranch on the side because it was seriously next level. Made it even better that it's right next to the Bottle Logic Brewing Tasting Room tasting room, so grabbing some good beer with dinner was an easy move. In the area on vacation and stopped here for lunch. I ordered the garlic confit and if I wasn't from out of town, I'd be here every day. The pizza was amazing. The crust was the best. Not crusty, not doughy. Perfectly cooked. I ordered it with no green onions and both the cashier and cook confirmed that fried onions were okay. This restaurant is located inside of a food court area and went right at 11am ish when it opened. Saw on tiktok and yelp that this place was highly rated and it didn't fail to live up to the reviews! I got the hot n honey, because I loveee spice and honey on pizza and definitely tasted both!!! Loved the spice kick, the crispy and fluffy crust, the honey drizzle that balanced out the pepperoni and burrata flavors. Everything was just so good. Two people can easily share and devour this. The smash burger pizza was a seriously one of the best pizzas I've had in years and is also seriously craveable! It tasted just like you'd want a smash burger to taste but on a pizza crust instead of a bun. The pickled peppers on the pizza are reminiscent of the spicy peppers at In N Out and are a great touch that provides balance to the salty meat and cheese. The owners Mason & Grace are super friendly and work hard to make this spot run in top shape - make sure you stop by and enjoy a pizza at the nice counter or grab a beer and enjoy your pizza outside at one of the tables in the cute courtyard. The pizza was delicious. We got two kinds of pizza. The first one was a pistachio pesto and it had a great flavor with a lemon zest after taste. The crust was perfect with a nice texture and taste. The second pizza that we got was a pepper pepperoni, also yummy And super fresh tasting. These pizzas are not greasy and definitely a taste gourmet! I was looking for a QUALITY 'wood-fired' pizza, to bring to a potluck of about 30 people. I reviewed one POPULAR pizza spot, but read that they don't 'cut their pizzas'. . . EVEN with a "Pretty pleeeease?". . . WHAAAT?!! That was a HUGE turn off for me. So when I read about Humble Oven, I went in person to check them out. I asked if the three pizzas I ordered could be cut up to accommodate 30 people, Mason (the owner) IMMEDIATELY responded "Of course we can!" (with a genuine, cheerful smile too). I gave him the time I wanted to pick them up, and he said he would text me 15 minutes before the pick up time and then reheat them for a few minutes when I got there. Before I left, he gave me a sample. Oh. My. . . It had the most delectable 'crisp' on the bottom of the crust . . . Seriously, I never had pizza THAT good. So, I got online and ordered yet ANOTHER one! At the appointed time, true to his word, I got the pre pick-up text and everything was ready. On my way out, I noticed for the first time, that I COULD have had shiitake mushrooms added! I never saw THAT option before, and it would have tasted amazing! I ordered the Cadillac Margherita and the Bell Pepperooney. Both were outstanding in flavor with that great wood-oven char. As SOON as people began eating them, comments, were flying about how GOOD it was! They do not have a phone number, but you can order on their webpage or contact them via email. I like their location at the SLO Public Market. I avoided downtown traffic, had plenty of parking and could zip in and out. They are closed on Tuesdays. Mason introduced his staff to me, and all of them are so cheerful, upbeat and work well together. He started the business with his wife Grace several years ago. The Smash burger is absolutely delicious! As someone who loves In n Out burgers, and also pizza, this is a wonderful blend of the best of both with also some peppers that add a nice little kick. The pizza crust is perfectly chewy with also some nice crunch from the wood burning oven it's cooked in. The person who helped me couldn't have been nicer, and gave me a perfect time estimate. I loved having about 10 minutes to walk around, and appreciate that on a cold and foggy night I could have my dog inside with me while I waited. There is a terrific ice cream place in the same food space area so I will be back to try their ice creams. Also a really good cheese shop nearby that also offers a nice selection of sandwiches. Located in the main building of the SLO Public Market, Humble Oven serves pizzas, pastas made from scratch, salads, and other specialties. We were in the mood for a good meatball sandwich. Since our regular go-to option has closed, we headed over to the SLO Public Market complex to try Humble Oven. Ordering was easy and quick. The personnel were very cordial and friendly, and the food was quite good. Our order of an Italian Meatball Sub and a Meatball Classic pasta was ready within 10 minutes. Their Italian Meatball Sub consists of four pork & beef meatballs, lemon ricotta, calabrian chili, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, topped with fresh basil on a French hoagie roll. The Meatball Classic pasta has three meatballs, pomodoro sauce, ricotta cheese, and housemade rigatoni pasta. On many of their offerings, one may customize their selection with additional choices of protein and/or veggies. Both of our selections were very flavorful, and we enjoyed them. One should know their tomato sauce is rather spicy, and the Meatball Sub seemed to have just a bit more warming heat, probably from the addition of calabrian chilis. The sauce on both seemed very similar. The price point is similar to an establishment offering table service. Considering all their food is packaged "to go", and one eats with plastic utensils and paper towels as napkins, it is expensive. They have a small counter to eat at, or one may sit in the main hall or outside at the courtyard tables. They use only the finest ingredients imported from Italy. In SLO over the weekend and elected to try the SLO Public Market. Once we arrived and scanned the options, we selected Humble Oven, an Italian Kitchen. We ordered the 12" pepperoni and bell peppers, minus the bell peppers. We also ordered the mixed green salad with goat cheese, sliced almonds and balsamic vinegarette. The pizza had sweetie drop peppers, basil, pepperoni, parmesan and mozzarella cheese on the pie. The dough was chewy, sauce was bland and to many burnt areas on the crust for me. It just was not flavorful. The salad was fine. I don't have the need to return or try Humble Oven again. The salad was adequate but again the venue is more like a food court. The pizza would be fine for a stop after a sporting event but not remotely impressive. The venue was packed full of young athletic teams stopping by after their game and loud. I am not sure I selected a proper place for us to eat and I was lazy. I need to be more selective on what we want and not try to make a certain style of restaurant fit my palate. Today I tried the meat lovers pizza and I can honestly say I have never tasted any pizza like it! First of all can we talk about this huge chucks of perfectly cooked brisket!?!!!! The margherita was delicious but the hot honey was out of this world. Perfect blend of salty and sweet. The pistachio pesto was also really good--a bit lighter and brighter with the lemon zest. Counter people and pizza folks were all very friendly and helpful. Order at the counter and they'll text you when it's ready for pick up. So my husband and I decided to take the grandkids here as we haven't been here with them. My youngest granddaughter had pasta with butter and she ate it all and loved it. The rest of us ordered two pepperoni pizzas. There were four of us, and all the pizza got eaten. The pizza was very hard to eat you could not cut them you had to like fold them. They were pretty messy. And for what I spent for everybody, I thought it was pricey. We ate at one of the tables and I got a text when the meal was ready. We were staying at the Madonna for my birthday and planned on a fancy dinner night, no matter where we ended up. I found The Humble Oven online, and the reviews were good, but what caught my attention is that they literally have a menu item called Buttered Noods. I loved it so much I picked this place based on that and the fact that they make their pasta from scratch. We did Not realize that it's in a complex in what's like a little food hall with what looked like 3-4 other places. The Humble Oven is right in front-It's a walk up counter with a small 2 sided area with counters to sit at with minimal yet nice decor. The lighting wasn't too much, there were tiny candles hanging from the ceiling, and it was really cute. We ordered at the counter, I got the pesto pasta and my date got pasta with meatballs. Everything is served in takeout containers and it seems their main business is that. We were told it would be about 10-12 minutes, and the girl who took our order said it like she was apologizing for the time frame-no need at all, I would've waited longer for this pasta ... It was incredible. I took a bite and the texture of the pasta was unlike any rotini type id ever had before. It was beyond perfectly al dente, the tomatoes were cooked perfectly, and the artichoke was an uncommon delicious touch I wish more places did. I don't eat meat so I tried a bite of my dates and ate around the meat, and his was so good as was the texture. I was nearly in tears to be honest, as pasta is my favorite food group and this was some of the best pasta I've ever had. In my life. The only other place in California I love that makes their own pasta, makes it with eggs overall which I cannot really eat. We had started talking a little to Grace, who I felt was the owner before I even knew for sure, and she told me there's no egg in her pastas... I couldn't speak. Literally couldn't form words I was so happy, especially because I'd only had about half my pasta out of worry i'd get sick from eggs (sometimes it's worth it). I was so beyond happy and could've eaten 2 containers of this epic pasta. The way Grace (and I think it was her husband who is the other owner), were working with what seemed like newer employees also caught my attention. I worked in the industry for 20 years and these 2 were very much like the bosses id wanna have. They were extremely informative and not in an aggressive way whatsoever. They clearly care about their food, their business, their employees and customers a lot, and a Lot of people came in for pickup while we were there. I wanted to go back the next day but our timing didn't work out for it. I would hands down drive up there again just to get their pasta and try the pizza. You have to go. Right now. But only if they're open when you're reading this and you're able to get there... If not add it to the list of places you need to go and eat things at. Trust me you will Not be disappointed.
