I can officially say I've been sugared by SLO Sugar! After hearing how amazing Tiana is, I was honored to finally meet her yesterday. Tiana is incredibly professional and friendly. Her studio is all hers so the space seems to be quiet. Her space is clean and really well decorated. She's fast and knowledgeable and made me feel really comfortable! Yesterday, I got a Brazilian and she did a fabulous job. It's so important to be made comfortable when you're getting services like a Brazilian. The sugaring method is so neat the way its done and if it happens to get anywhere on the floor, your clothes, or skin, it is easily removed by water. I have been getting waxed for at least a year, but have been struggling with ingrowns almost the entire time. I decided to look for a local place that offered sugaring, to see if the more natural route of that would be beneficial. It was so nice to walk in and Tiana welcomed my service dog and I. She was so knowledgeable about service dogs as well, asking to pet him prior to say hello, and both of us forgot he was there at one point. She walked me through how sugaring was different than waxing, what the process was going to be like, and was so friendly the whole time! I had the absolute best experience with Tiana! I have been an avid waxer and usually make appointments back home, but I wasn't going home anytime soon. I stumbled upon sugaring and SLO Sugar through yelp and decided to give it a try. It was a little bit of a struggle finding her little corner, but I missed that SLO Sugar was located in OATS (a friendly, organic tanning spot in SLO). Once I walked in, I was welcomed with a smile I could see under her mask and was offered refreshments. Tiana led me to the table and left me to sign a consent form and undress. The whole process was super smooth (and I am even smoother). Waxing is never painless, but this was the closest I've been to a pain-free wax, especially coming from hard wax Brazilians. I am so glad that I booked an appointment with Tiana at SLO Sugar! Like many of you, it's been MONTHS that have felt like YEARS since I've been sugared. The booking process was super easy, you essentially do it online and can create an account which is helpful when you book future appointments. You are also able to get reminders for your appointment via text, email, or phone notification with the system they use. You do have to add debt/credit card info to hold the appointment, very standard practice to encourage you to keep your appointment or update accordingly. Tiana was ready for my appointment as SOON as I arrived and we got things rolling! Signed my waiver and it was on! If you get sugared you know that regularity decreases pain. Seeing as it's been about 5 months since my last sugar, this was as pain free of a treatment as I could have. I did trim a bit beforehand so I'm sure that helped but overall I really enjoyed the appointment with Tiana! She was super friendly and kept the conversation going. I knew what she was doing and why. I'd never heard of sugaring before but tried it out on my legs before a trip to Vegas. It was super quick, easy and I feel like it hurt way less that waxing! I loved that its biodegradable and water soluble. After we were done she gave me a warm wet towel to wipe off the residue which came off so easily it was awesome!
