The Extended Brow Experience was nothing short of a meditative, out of body experience of infinite relaxation. More than 24 hours later, I am still feeling a calm and zenness. I'm 54 years old and have been getting my very bushy brows waxed since the 6th grade. For the past 10 years, Candice at Brow Therapy has been the ONLY person I trust with my eyebrows. She's always on time. Literally come as you are, she's got your brows. Recently, I treated myself to the 40 Minute Brow Experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The slight vibrations through the bed, the sounds through the headphones, and one touch from Candice, took me away so very quickly into a complete state of relaxation. I didn't have to make any effort to quiet my mind. After a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, my body has been carrying an enormous amount of stress. For 40 minutes, all of it disappeared. There was no anxiety, no to do list, and no worrying about the future. I was floating on a cloud and was able to feel so present and filled with bliss throughout the entire treatment. And even after, I was walking on the clouds during grocery shopping at a peak hour! I've been living on the central coast for just over a year, and in that time I've found a hair stylist, great coffee shops, a tax accountant, and even a dentist on Yelp. But the one service I kept putting off was my Brazilian upkeep. I mean, you don't just walk in anywhere and drop trou, and I kept wondering if I could trust online reviews when it came to such a sensitive area... But things were pretty scary in my nether regions, and I had to get brave. Positive Yelp reviews led me to Candice, and when I called to make an appointment, I was immediately encouraged by the friendly, down-to-earth response I got, paired with the fact that I could make an appointment for the following week. I showed up to this amazingly cute little pink bungalow, and the little girl inside me who always wanted to live in an enchanted house in a fairy tale was beside herself. The "cute factor" and the fact that it is just far enough outside downtown to give it space for its own parking lot sold me before I even walked in the door. I was early for my appointment, and Candice and her Gal Friday greeted me with friendly enthusiasm and I was able to get started right away. (Although if I hadn't been, I totally would have loved sitting in one of the cute matching armchairs!) At the end of service, I was able to pay at the desk with the friendly assistant (whose name I forget -- sorry!), which I prefer, as it alleviates the awkwardness of asking the service provider for change and pointing out the tip amount. Just one more piece of evidence of good planning at this spot ... Now for the most important part: how was the service? In my opinion, a great Brazilian has three main components: 1) It is quick and efficient. 2) It is made less awkward by a carefully prepared atmosphere and just the right amount of conversation. 3) It doesn't hurt too much while it's happening, and it heals relatively quickly. Candice gets my highest marks on all three counts, PLUS she offers a selection of post-procedure pamperings, such as a hot washcloth with teatree oil, wax de-sticker, baby wipes, and ingrown-hair discourager. I will definitely be back, especially with her very fair prices and her service punch card. So glad I took a chance on Yelp reviews! Candice is the brow whisperer and that's no joke. She's been doing my brows for the last few years and I will not let anyone else touch them. She shapes them perfectly and also taught me how to fill them in myself with the brow powder and brush that she sells there. I get compliments on my brows ALL the time. She uses hard wax and her technique is flawless - there is no pain during or redness/ irritation after. I can go straight from a waxing appt to a dinner or event and I know my brows are going to look fantastic. Her Brazilian waxes were quick and painless too but she no longer does them :-(. So I've never gotten my brows done before because I was always terrified to get them too thinned out or butchered. Everyone knows brows really do make a huge difference. I had been referred to her by a worker at Urban Outfitters in SLO and finally had the guts to get them done here and let me tell you, I wish I had come here earlier! Candice is incredibly friendly and makes you feel totally relaxed while you're getting them done. She takes her time and really does care about making you look good! I highly recommend her. They do a great job on brows, but are unorganized and impossible to get a hold of. After playing text tag for a week and a half trying to get an appointment instead of just getting placed on the books (even if it was 2 weeks out, I would've been fine with that), I finally got an appointment and was told to come in "Tomorrow at 4:45". Show up the next day 10 mins early, wait outside until someone unlocks the door, and was told that my appointment was Wednesday at 4:45 unapologetically. Will still come Wednesday for my appointment because Candice is sweet and did a great job with my brows, but pretty disappointed in the service. Hopefully they can figure it out because otherwise love it here, but would not go through this trouble again read more

Wow I love this place! I have been struggling with my brows for a while now ...they both looked totally different and no matter how hard I tried they needed HELP! Thank goodness I was in good hands... Both Emily and Candice are great... they have both helped me so much! The best part is that they work great together and are a great team! (See before and after pic!) Emily's facials are amazing too! My face has never felt better ... After my pregnancy I had problems with my skin(hormones! Ugh) but a few facials later my skin is soooo much better and feels great... A few months ago I was a bridesmaid in a wedding and got a spray tan from Emily! I honestly HATE leaving negative reviews especially when companies have a perfect yelp review. However, it's been about a year and a half since I've went to brow therapy and I am still trying to get my brows back to normal. The girl who did them was brand new at the time, and completely butchered my brows. Took off too much in the middle and WAY too much on the arch. I went back to my regular brow lady the next time I needed a wax and the first thing she said was "did I do your brows last?" They were noticeably messed up. I have to spend quite some time filling in my brows every morning because the amount she took off in the middle has yet to grow back. OVER A YEAR LATER! I'm so sad, my brows were gorgeous. Sad part is, it was only one brow she messed up. So now if I'm not wearing makeup I look like a complete clown. When she was done, she filled them in (per usual) so I wasn't able to see how much they were really messed up till I got home.
