Candice is not only the best eyebrow waxer, tweezer, shaper, and scissor artist I've ever encountered, but she also runs her business with a genuine and humble, no fake BS approach that I absolutely love. She's always on time. Literally come as you are, she's got your brows. Recently, I treated myself to the 40 Minute Brow Experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The slight vibrations through the bed, the sounds through the headphones, and one touch from Candice, took me away so very quickly into a complete state of relaxation. I didn't have to make any effort to quiet my mind. After a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, my body has been carrying an enormous amount of stress. For 40 minutes, all of it disappeared. There was no anxiety, no to do list, and no worrying about the future. I was floating on a cloud and was able to feel so present and filled with bliss throughout the entire treatment. And even after, I was walking on the clouds during grocery shopping at a peak hour! First, she toned it to smurf blue, offered to wash it out, apologized that she didn't understand what I wanted because she mixed my wishes up with all of her other new clients and offered to book an appt to fix it three days later if I paid her. Not surprisingly she then tried to change the time, the day and ultimately cancelled on me because she was sick and told me if I wanted to book a new appt, because she was no longer saying she was fixing it, now it was my poor communication, it would cost me 350 dollars. I have heard other people say bait and switch and that is exactly what I felt.

Genuinely a fan of this place and have been coming here since the beginning. I stopped coming for a bit because as this place got more well-known and popular, walk-ins were merely impossible without a 10-15 minute wait and I've noticed that when it's busy, my brows are never fully "cleaned up" to meet my standards. Maybe I am just a little nitpicky but when there are several clients behind my appointment, my threading treatment lasts less than 5 minutes and I still notice some stray hairs around my eyelids. I would like to not have to go home and tweeze the stray hairs. Whenever there aren't any clients behind me, the staff takes their time with my brows which I really appreciate. I came back because Kaya was helping me grow back sparse areas on my brows and to help lower my arch. I thought it was a good idea to stick with the same person to do my brows so I can reach my desire results so I have been sticking with Beauty Box for the past few months. Overall, prices are cheap, all the staffs are nice, and I leave content most of the time! read more

I highly recommend Kaya for all your eyebrow needs--she is amazing! I made the mistake of letting other people pluck my eyebrows, and it completely ruined their shape. But since I started going to Kaya for brow waxing, she has totally fixed them and brought back their natural shape. Every time I leave her chair, I feel so much more confident! I also have to give a big shoutout to Jade for Brazilian waxing. I was super nervous since it was my first time, but Jade made the whole experience so comfortable and easy. We had great conversations, and honestly, it didn't even hurt as much as I expected. She was quick and professional, and I felt totally at ease the whole time. First off, it's impossible to get ahold on anyone via phone. There is also no receptionist so you stand there waiting 15 minutes wondering if anyone is in the building. The lash beds are so uncomfortable they should really invest in a pillow it was painful to sit through an entire lash lift/ tint and brow tint/ lamination. The girl that did my lashes Mayra was very rude, from the time she "greeted" me and during the entire service. Any question i would ask she would have a confrontational response. I was sent home with no after care information, and i dare not ask after her other responses so i guess i'll google it.. $205 for the services, the brows look good, they're pretty dark but will hopefully wash out. I posted a review before, but it keeps disappearing, what's up Yelp? Here is my review again: I am happy I discovered Beauty Box SLO, at 17 Chorro near Starbucks/Jamba Juice off of Foothill. I encourage everyone to try this new threading, body waxing and styling business. I am a senior citizen, new to the threading, hair removal process, but the need for hair removal affects us all. I have had facial waxing with Kaya and others before but am now a threading convert. Kaya has threaded my upper lip, neck and chin twice and I am very happy that it is lasting longer than waxing and is less painful than plucking and electrolysis. Kaya offers many other beauty services, threading is just the newest that I have tried in her recently opened, cozy and attractive salon. Check it out, I think you will be pleased. read more

Kaya is a true eyebrow goddess. I grew my eyebrows out for 4 months after someone else had ruined them. That means I was putting my full trust into her. She spent time understanding what I wanted, assessing my eyebrows, and then explaining to me exactly what she was going to do. I have never been so satisfied with my eyebrow before! After such an amazing experience with my eyebrows I decided to get a wax service performed by her. I was not let down. She made it quick, easy, and even spent the extra time after to get rid of ingrown hairs, and pluck left overs. Her attention to detail is everything you could want! I just recently switched locations to Beauty Box for waxes. I use to see Court at EW, and am so so so glad she is now working at Beauty Box! Court always does an amazing clean and even wax. I checked this place out when my usual brow place was moved to another location. This place is very convenient to where I live so I decided to come in and the waiting time was not bad. The process only took like about 5 min or less, Kaya works very quick and precise on your brows. She was able to fix the uneveness of my brows. She will always ask you if aloe vera is ok just in case you're allergic to it. She is super thoughtful and kind I would recommend this place to everyone. I had never gotten my eyebrows threaded before but after about the hundredth time breaking out from waxing I decided to give threading a try and I am so amazed at the results. It is so much cleaner of a line than waxing and my skin isn't inflamed immediately after and I have zero breakouts which I am so happy about. This is THE place to go for waxing and threading services. I can't speak to other services there but I know they have a ton of loyal customers. Prices are good - not the cheapest but reasonable. Some places can get gross but here they are commited to making the clients comfortable, pampered, and happy walking out their door. Kaya is very talented and caring, and her staff is amazing. Kaya is absolutely amazing - I have never been happier with my brows. She was so nice and knowledgeable, and I was able to walk in and be out within 20 minutes without an appointment! The salon is brand new and extremely clean and welcoming. For any type of threading, I am always careful and quite nervous to change places. However, since this place has opened up, it's my new favorite. Kaya is not only super nice and accommodating, she works with you on what you need and want. She is currently helping me fix my eyebrows after so many years of over plucking. Look, I know this whole COVID mess has screwed up everyone's lives....and livelihoods, but holy…read moreheck, if I could give zero stars for the interaction I've just had with the owner Emily at Brow Fox, I surely would. Last month when we were in the middle of the first shut down I literally stopped at the salon and called from the parking lot in an effort to avoid any unnecessary exposure to Emily, her employees, and other clients. I could see people in the business moving about, but no one bothered to answer the telephone. This should've been my first indicator that things were not legit here. But because I have visited the salon before and had a great experience with one of her contractors, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went ahead and walked in to see if I could make a future appointment. Emily herself finally came to the counter and explained she was in the middle of eating lunch and there is no possible way she could take me that day. Again, I hadn't asked her to take me *that day*, I was simply trying to make a future appointment. She advised she had zero availability for at least the next 6 to 7 weeks. I agreed to accept her first available appointment and kindly asked her to please place me on a waiting list in case anything freed up before then. Then I asked about her availability to touch up the micro blade on my brows at a later date (a $300+ service). Suddenly she had availability three weeks out. Of course I took the appointment and was anxious to have my COVID Frau unibrow whipped back into shape. Skip ahead to yesterday when I received not one, not two, but three request to confirm my appointment for today via email and text nearly back to back. I responded to all three as requested immediately. A few hours later I received an email stating she was shutting the shop down down due to state guidelines. Unfortunately, her email message was not 100% clear and I wanted to make certain I wouldn't miss my appointment which appeared from her email would be one of the last completed before her shut down. I did not want to stand her up, and I also did not want to violate her policy and be charged for an appointment I missed due to any misunderstanding and her communications (she has my card # on file). I emailed through her site but got no response. At 7:30 this morning I received a fourth request to confirm my appointment via email. I immediately called to leave a message at the shop as it appeared her messaging system was having problems. Imagine my surprise when she answered her phone at 7:30 AM! I attempted to explain my reason for calling only to be cut off, interrupted, and barked at in a nasty, unprofessional manner. This was followed by the line going dead, so due to her attitude, I assumed she had hung up on me. Rather than call her back, I simply emailed her just her asking she remove me from her client list permanently. Below is her email response to me along with my reply received this afternoon. I'm also including screen captures in case anybody wants to call into question the validity of her response. While I understand we are all on edge due to the extreme stress and pressure COVID-19 has placed everyone under, her behavior was completely inappropriate and unwarranted considering the situation. I will no longer do business with this woman, and strongly suggest anyone interested in her services continue looking for someone who can manage their behavior and communications in a professional manner instead of lashing out and behaving as if they are the only person in the world who has been affected by this pandemic.
