I then sent a letter canceling my account and they continued to charge my account , never send an email stating that they were charging my account and when I let them know they said they could not help me and only refunded the last month. This company is terrible and do not recommend you use. I signed up for automatic oil delivery, which they promised once every month. Well, I have had to call the last two times because I have nearly ran out of oil ( less than 1/8). As of today, February 9th, I have not have an oil delivery since January 5th 2026 and before that since November 21st, 2025. I called today several times to reach them and when I did they said they will try to send a delivery before Friday! So clearly, not concerned at all if my heat burner runs out of oil . They reported they go by the usage I had last year. That is absurd! This winter has been extremely cold and they should have anticipated that and deliver oil more frequently or at least at the promise time of once a month. They are thieves. They took $9450.00 from me to pay for 2 mini splits in my business on May 19, 2025. They took my payment on their iPad and I signed for it. I was told I would have a receipt emailed to me. I never received one. On May 9, 2025 they told me that they can't do the job because they would need a ladder to install the unit and they don't do that. They said they would refund my payment. It's now June 21, 2025 and NO REFUND yet. I've called multiple times to hear only excuses. I've texted the sales rep that took my payment and no response. I called the sales rep and he would only say that I will get the refund, it just takes time. They took my payment immediately but they can't refund me after such a long wait. STAY AWAY! I ordered oil from Slomins (2.14.26, via guest side since I don't have a contract with them). Issues started with the lack of communication about when the delivery would occur and NO WAY to find out aside from an unresponsive email. Finally they delivered the oil and left, I checked the tank to ensure everything was find and found a broken piece along with an oil stained rag left in the top part of the tank. Nobody followed up about breaking my equipment and leaving trash. I have followed up with their cod oil email since that is my only way to contact them (even if you call they will not help). I have received one call reiterating my emails and they said they would follow up but have not heard back since. 2+ months of trying to find out what happened and when they plan to fix it. If they are willing to do this to a potential contract customer, I can imagine how they treat their current customers. We used Slomins for 22 years. Free money for them. Not even one false alarm when we used their service. We just sold our house and evryone involved in the sale process was great.....EXCEPT Slomin's. Customer service was terrible. Was on hold for 5 hours and when I finally spoke to someone they didn't follow through with what they said they would do. And trying to charge us a $2k cancellation fee for a contract we never signed and they can't produce an executed contract. This for outdated equipment from like 3 generations ago. Don't walk away from Slomins......RUN away. They're like a school of sharks in 10 foot deep water. Worst customer service experience in my life. I do not recommend Slomin's at all. I was a customer for several years, and the only reason I stayed that long was because I never had any issues with my boiler, and the oil tank was easily accessible. They could deliver at their convenience, and I never needed service. A few months ago, I noticed a leak and contacted them to come check it out. I was told to send pictures, which I did -- via email, through their website, and even through my account login. I received no response. I kept calling and got nowhere. Eventually, I gave up and paid someone else to come fix it. Around that time, we built a deck over the oil tank access. Now, a section of the deck needs to be lifted for deliveries, so I told Slomin's I'd need a call in advance to open it. The first delivery went smoothly -- they called, and I received 250 gallons. Less than two weeks later, they called again. I explained I had barely used a quarter of that oil and that they should come less frequently due to the access issue. They said okay. Last week, I was down to less than a quarter tank, so I called to schedule a delivery. I was told it would take two days -- but they never showed up. I submitted a request again through my account -- no response. I called again, repeated that I need a specific day so I can leave the access open (otherwise, it stays closed for safety -- I have kids). Still, nothing. Today, I ordered oil from a different company -- cash on delivery. Slomin's has lost my business. My contract ends in October or after they deliver 666 gallons. I only need about 130 more from them and then I'm done. The only positive: the techs who come for yearly cleanings have always been professional and courteous. read more

The heat isn't coming up. There's a red light on the burner. Pushing reset doesn't get the furnace to turn on. So I check the oil tank and it's empty. Call Slomins and I tell them I'm out of oil and they tell me that they can deliver the oil in 3 days. It's cold out and I'm out of oil. What do they think is going to happen. But I have to tell them I can't wait 3 days before they tell me I need a service call to get an emergency oil delivery. I realize customer service has to ask questions, but listen to what your customer is telling you instead of blindly following a script. Yes the power is on otherwise there wouldn't be a red light on the burner. Turning the thermostat up to 80 degrees will not wake up the dead furnace whose red light indicates it can't turn on. Insisting that I have to do this nonsense and call back in 1 hour to get the service call is lunacy. You can't take my word for the fact that I'm out of oil and that's why there's no heat, so you have to send over a mechanic to determine what the problem is?!? OK. Do it now like I requested instead of wasting my time with nonsense that can't work and making me wait an hour to call back and have to go through the whole story again to get service. BTW, this is not the first time I've run out of oil. When it gets cold out, adjust your delivery schedule accordingly. read more

If i could rate a -1 one star I would. I was interested in becoming a new customer and responded to an offer of $3.299 a gallon locked in. I called the number on the card, spoke to someone, who said they can help but couldn't, who transferred me to a inept sales person Paul who confirmed the price. When i asked about the service contract pricing he said to go to the website... couldn't be bothered. I go to the website and couldn't get pricing... used the chat and was told to use the QR code which was not responding until my 3rd attempt. Got on another chat and the woman was nice but again referred me to fill out the info on the site which i did. the site is not very user friendly and they only offered an annual service contract of $219 . I asked on the chat what it covered. That's the only contract - so no one on the phone knew that? Inept, lazy people. If that's your first impression, then you know you are in for a year of hell. While the price is lower with Slomin's, customer service sucks. Go to Traggar they're 20 cents more bu you have a premium contract , they give discounts for veterans and they don't give you the run around - at the end of the day its $120 more per year but i know they honor their contract which covers everything no out of pocket - These people at Slomin's need to be schooled in customer service. read more

We have been Slomin's heating oil customers for years. My issue began about a year ago and is still unresolved. We purchased a mini-spirit a/c unit from Slomins for $22,179.00 in late May 2024.This unit needed our electric system to be updated, this service was included in the contract and sub-contract by Slomin's with the guarantee of an electric certificate upon work completion. The unit was to be installed in early July 2024. After many delays the unit was actually installed in late August 2024 and the electric work completed in October 2024. We did not receive the electric certificate for the electric upgrade. We have called numerous times and spoke to customer service who assured us the certificate would be sent. During several calls I asked to speak to a supervisor. They will NOT put you through to speak to a higher up. I even reached out to the original sales person via email, no response. I guess once they get your money they are DONE with you. Fast forward to June 2025, the system was not working. Called Slomins to get the system looked at. The customer service rep would not let us make an appointment until we paid a $235.00 service fee. We pointed out that our contract clearly states in Section 11, that there is a warranty for the first year. Still she insisted on the $235.00 fee, stating that she had NO WAY of knowing what was in our contract. We put the charge on our credit card. When the scheduler called to book the repair appointment I spoke to her about the charge. She was able to see our contract on her computer and immediately put in for a refund. I also spoke to her about the electric certificate, she said she would look into it. The service man did come and fix it, stating a flange was over torqued during installation. In August 2025 I received an invoice from Slomins for $327.25, with no explanation for what it is for. I could not pull the invoice up on the payment portal without an account number and there wasn't account information on the invoice. At this point we were NOT even customers for heating oil. I called the customer service line again and was told it was for a service contract for the a/c unit. I asked for a copy of the contract, like they do for an oil burner service. I was told they do NOT do contracts for a/c service contracts. I said I am not signing up for a service contract WITHOUT BEING ABLE READ AND AGREE TO A CONTRACT. A few weeks later, out of the blue I was emailed a service contract with different levels for service and prices. However, all the levels said that repair would be at the discretion of Slomins. So, I could send them ranging from $327.50 to $650.00 for a service contract and they MAY at THEIR DESCRETION perform the work. I thought it was funny and decided NOT to take the contract. Especially, with their past practice of NOT fulfilling their end of our original contract we found the prospect of a service contract actually being carried out minimal at best. Last week I received a letter from Slomins threatening me with collections and to be contacted by their attorney if I do not send them the money for their joke of a service contract, I never agreed to. Perhaps if Slomin's took the time to get and forward the electrical certification as they did with preparing a ridiculous letter this would be a non-issue. Slomin's seems to be very confused. Be very careful when dealing with Slomin's keep contracts handy and make sure they fulfill their contractual obligations, because once they are done with you they are done and it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get even simple issues resolved. read more

I haven't read the reviews here yet for Slomin's Oil ...let me tell you stay clear of these crooks. The price looks good until you sign a "one time delivery only contract "... except you pay. Here is the scam; you prepay for 100 gallons minimum. When they deliver, as in my case, I get 88 gallons .Now before delivery I measured my oil level in the tank and I had room for over 120 gallons. So my first reaction is "I must have measured wrong, except I went back out and remeasured...mathematically I had room for over 20 gallons. Ok... they owe me 12 gallons on my prepaid account , or $31. It's impossible to get back in touch with them , but 3 weeks later I did... asked how we were going to reconcile the invoice... they agreed to reimburse ...3 more weeks go by, I get an envelope from Slomin's with and invoice for $99... minus the $31 they owe me.... It's for a cancellation fee...called Slomin's customer service...told to write to the COD Online purchase email....no answers...I referred this issue to the Pennsylvania Attorney General Office of Consumer Fraud. ...in the mean time I received another invoice from them, adding 42 cents in Finance Charges.... Can you believe it. So I paid these crooks, hoping the Attorney General's Office can recover my money rather then make them do the right thing. Stay clear ..Caveat Emptor . read more

1. Failure to disclose that you need a permit from Suffolk County to get an alarm system. If I had know I would never purcahsed Slomins security 2. Their sensors kept failing and 2 technicans came out and said the sensors I had was end-of-life, and they replaced it with ones that are more compatible which they would only replace as each one fails. 3. Service calls only work Mon-Friday, So lose a day's pay/take a day off from work so they can replace a sensor when it fails rather than replace all of the end-of-life ones. 4. They stopped servicing our oil-burner when it failed. We did experience a few service calls; either our burner was old, or the technician didnt fix right the first, and/or the second time. I has to spend $600+ dollars to have the plumber come and fix it. 5. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income! I wish I would have read reviews before counting on them! Great price on heating oil. First transaction, no problems. Advised many people in my neighborhood to use this company. They provide a guaranteed delivery date before you agree to purchase. I ordered on Feb 3, 2026 with a guaranteed delivery by Feb 7. My credit card was charged as soon as I agreed to the purchase. I called customer service on Feb 6 to confirm delivery no later than Feb 7. I was advised delivery would be Feb 9 not 7. If I run my burner to keep warm during the coldest spell in a decade, I will run out of oil before Monday. I count every penny. Slomin's price is $1.66 less a gallon than any local company. Since last night, I've sent multiple emails demanding oil delivery today. Their answer continues to be, sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Your delivery will be Monday Feb 9. They are making no attempt to honor their guaranteed delivery date nor do they care that I am a senior citizen and will likely run out of oil. Though I've been a customer for many years and they always get paid, it's tough in the winter with oil prices the way they are. This year to get in the budget plan they wanted $1,000 up front. If someone needs the budget plan they don't have $1,000, duh! When I paid what I could on a $600 bill the balance was late I got a letter that can only be considered harassment and bullying. In NY landlords are not allowed to withhold heat from November to April yet Slomin's threatens to do this in a letter with all caps. I wrote to the CEO and cc'd two CFO's that the letter is rude because all caps is considered yelling and they could save money in ink if they print in normal 12 point type and pass the savings in to their customers. Of course I got no response. I will look for another provider and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

We have been customers for 30 years, first for home alarm/security, then oil. We pay the annual dues to have the system maintained, but the last year, they would cancel in the last minute. We needed oil last week. We called on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and today. We were promised delivery today, then, at 7pm we were informed that the "driver missed our appointment" and the fuel will be delivered on the next business day - Monday! Temperatures have been 10 and more degrees below freezing; consequently, we had to have the heat on. We have to take showers, but we won't be able to until Monday! SLOMIN'S annual revenue is 65 M!
