I have written no more than 3 reviews ever, anywhere, if that. (Maybe none -- but I am allowing for a few lest memory have lapsed over the course of decades.) POINT BEING: Carmine Galleta, owner of Galletair, really deserves these kudos: A few nights ago, Friday of a holiday weekend, one of the first really uncomfortable evenings of the season, we realized that our AC was running, but emitting only warm air. My wife promptly searched online for some highly-rated service providers, and left email messages with a few. Not only did Carmine reply, he corresponded with my wife over the course of a day tor two to the extent of offering suggestions and advice. Upon realizing that the issue would require a visit, he encouraged her to call the office on Tuesday morning. She did so, and made an appointment for a few days on. Some hours later, she received an email from the secretary indicating that Carmine himself could come by later that very day. And so he did. Carmine made a quick but methodical assessment of the situation and rapidly determined the problem -- nothing mechanical or electrical wrong with the system -- rather, inadequate air flow around the outdoor units as a function of accumulated degraded leaf meal dust in grills, general leaves and debris around units, and surrounding picket fencing too close to portions of units. He clearly explained the nature of the difficulty -- his logical reasoning, experience, and knowledge all in evidence. Carmine flatly refused to accept any payment for his efficient and expert identification of the problem and straightforward instructions for resolution, insisting he hadn't done anything. Then, although the remedy was relatively simple, he proceeded further to aid in addressing the issue, returning to his truck multiple times (for hex-shaped drill bits, gloves, saws-all, and more) and cheerfully proving the adage "There's no such thing as a five-minute job." Moreover, he offered tips to keep our system as healthy for us, as efficient, and as well-maintained as possible. Despite all this generosity, he unequivocally rejected any monetary payment, musing on the pleasures of "paying it forward." Finally, I persuaded him to accept a small jar of our organic, homegrown, home-dried, and home-crushed hot red pepper -- a cayenne, habanero, and halapeno blend. And promised to tell all on yelp. Sooo . . . .while I cannot say that Galletair will provide free service, I feel confident in saying that Galleta represents honesty, integrity, expertise, and reliability. With thirty-five years of business behind him, Carmine Galleta surely has achieved well-earned success -- both for his own family and for future generations of Galettas to follow -- by way of hard work and true service. I made an appointment with GallettAir for Mon, July 6, 2020 for a diagnostic of my CAC, installed 2-1/2 years ago by another company. I am impressed by Matt's good humor, humility, and passionate commitment to his responsibility. Appreciative of the entire experience, personally and professionally, I would highly recommend Matt and GalletAir. I explained the history of my issue to Matt. The original installers had to return twice, once to attach the lines to the two air handlers they had failed to connect, and again to load coolant they had neglected to fill in the three compressors (for subzones). When it came time for the next summer maintenance check, I decided to get a reference for a local independent contractor, who claimed that the compressors were empty of coolant, and charged $1,000 to refill them, and would not check the filter system, because he did not have his own ladder, and did not trust mine (an adjustable multi-position "Gorilla"). This following summer, I got another recommendation, who also claimed that the compressors were empty of coolant, and charged $1,000 to refill them, and further suggested that I run a diagnostic of the lines to check for a "probable" leak. I then contacted GalletAir for a second opinion. Matt spent an hour thoroughly checking the compressors, the returns, the temperature from various vents, and the thermostats. He was patient and attentive, and addressed all my questions in understandable terms. Everything is working as it should. He discouraged me from running a costly and disruptive diagnostic, as the test will require the system to be off for a week, not ideal at the peak of summer, so better to wait until the fall season to reconsider unless there is a breakdown that compels immediate attention. Not all businesses practice such conscientious dutifulness, and instead are quick to turn up problems outside the scope of need in order to increase their profit. When I asked Matt for the bill, he replied that I owed him nothing, as he had "not done anything requiring particular effort". I insisted that he should be paid for his time, and he still courteously refused to take even a "tip", asserting that he would only take payment for more substantive service. Matt's integrity is a reminder that customer care is as much about making you feel valued as providing a valuable skill. read more

This evening I had Matthew do some service . Before he arrived , earlier in the day , I had another company - my company that I use for service - come look at my problem . My company immediately identified the problem but said that I am working with obsolete pipes and they can replace & repair my clogged lines on Monday morning - it was now 3 pm on Friday afternoon . I expressed that i did not want to wait until then but they made it clear that they did not want to start this job at this hour as it is very hot in my attic and they want to come back early Monday morning when it will be cooler in the attic : I let this go as not wanting to kill them in the heat but secretly thinking "isn't this their job ?!" ... as they leave I decide to call someone else and I call Gallet Air and Matthew shows up at almost 7 pm. He couldn't be nicer and more knowledgeable and expresses that the first company did in fact have the problem Identified and that he can fix it without a problem - he then got right to Work and fixed my clogged pipe and Had me up and running with a cold AC within 15 minutes explaining that although my piping is old, it is not obsolete and can still Be worked on and that he did - I was up and running within moments of him coming in - and all for a decent charge . I was so Grateful because my weekend was going to be hot and humid but Matt had my AC going cold before he left . I then went to tip him $20. :.. the only Cash I had in the house and Matthew would not take it . I insisted and chased him down to his van but he asked that I stop and please just write a positive review on his wok: so here I am, As hard as i tried, Matthew would not take his tip and insisted that a positive review is all the tip he needs . So I am writing this and will also Call his boss on Monday but do want to plug what a great business this is and how much I appreciate them Coming out at 7 pm on a Friday so I am not stuck without AC. I wanted to thank Carmine and Mike for their absolute sincere honesty and integrity that you just dont find anymore. Long story short is I had my central AC installed 12 years ago. I was never able to get the house below 80 on a hot day. most times i just shut it off and used window units The original contractor came a few times and ran away. Everyone after them who came to service it, gased it up, sometimes more than 3 times a year told me the system was undersized and needed to be replaced. I was told there was nothing I can do to get cold air. The system was just too small. I got 3 estimates in the last month all of about $13,500 to replace my 2 zones. i was worn out and ready to sign when my brother called and told me to try Galletair. he said he has been using them for years and they always been great. so i called for an estimate to "replace the 2 units." Mike came took one look at the equipment, measured the temperature at the ducts and told me there's nothing wrong with my system other than a needing a Freon pressurization adjustment I was skeptical but figured i had nothing to lose. So as Mike started re pressuring the system the house got magically cold. he told me to run the system overnight so it will stabilize and someone would be by in the morning to finish it up. Carmine came and finished the pressurizing and the house was 72 within a few minutes and the vents were blowing strong like they never did before. turns out JB Cool, the bums who installed the system over charged it and the rest of the knucklehead service guys just kept adding more and more Freon making it worse and worse to the point where the system was not even turning on. Mike and Carmine could have easily sold me a new system. i had the deposit check in my pocket. They chose to do the right thing and be honest and even better they didn't charge me a dime for their time. You can beat that. Good Job Guys! After purchasing a condo recently, I asked some of the other condo owners who they used for their tune ups and service for their heating plant/air conditioners. A few mentioned GallettAir. I called them and the secretary set up a tune up service for me. I felt the fee was very reasonable. Fast forward a few months to the summer and one day my downstairs air conditioner does not come on during a very hot day. Even though we did not have a contract, we called up GallettAir and a technician showed up the same day. I believe his name was Matt and he was the owner's son. So, he goes into our heating plant/air conditioner utility room in the garage and the air conditioner suddenly comes on. Mike calls me in and says somehow your switch got turned off and asked was anything done recently in the utility room. I told him we recently had a central vacuum system replaced and a garage outlet added in that room. From the position where the vacuum hose would be hooked up, he showed me that the way the hose left the utility room, it was very likely that it would hit the switch. Sure enough, we had used the vacuum garage outlet the day before. We now know to check the switch after using the vacuum. I asked Mike what we owed him for his time to come here, etc. He said no charge even though we do not currently have a service contract. He was very polite and could have charged me but did not. How incredible is that in this day and age? I asked him to have his office send us the particulars to get a service contract. This is the MOST amazing company - and it clearly starts at the top with its owner Carmine Galletta. I have been a homeowner for 28 years and have never written a review, but the incredible professionalism, technical skill and customer service GallettAir has extended to me and my husband warranted that I take the time to share my experience with this company. I bought a new house six years ago and purchased a service contract with them. In these 6 years GallettAir has always promptly scheduled appointments, provided courteous technicians and repaired my air conditioner without inventing upcharges to the service contract. I have always been satisfied. But eventually one of my air conditioner systems needed to be retired and I purchased a new system through them. After approximately a year I started experiencing some issues with the system and GallettAir immediately took action to find a solution and succeeded! I was quite impressed when one evening the owner having heard I was having repeated problems came to my house on a Friday night to assist the technician and promised me that "he was a man of his word - even if it means replacing the entire system. I stand behind my word and my company's reputation." I can vouch that he lived up to his word and beyond -and I really do appreciate a company with an owner of the highest standards. GallettAir installed an air-conditioner in my house built in the late 50s. They promised a clean job, profession appearance and approach and a couple of repairs. As well as a good air-conditioner. The work took one day, and it looked like the work was spotless. Remember this is still a 5 star review. A day or two later I went to do laundry, there was one space that had to be cut from the upper floor to the laundry room. Unfortunately they forgot that the laundry was there, and didn't set anything to catch the splintered wood debris, which flew everywhere. When I went to do laundry I picked up a towel and yanked it and something sprayed into my face. After returning with my glasses I say the full extent of the mess. I called GallettAir right away. They arrived as soon as they could and took charge apologized profusely and shooed me out. In about a half hour they called me back down and the place was spotless. They cleaned as much of the dust and debris as possible, even taking apart my humidifier and cleaning it because debris had fallen in. They reimbursed me for a couple of things that were too damaged to clean, and offered a tune-up on the heater when winter came, gratis. This was impressive and I was incredibly relieved that I didn't have to argue about clean up, or was left with it damaged things and all. So after all this, I would absolutely recommend them. I had used other companies previously and was not happy with them at all. We live in an H.O.A. community of 80 homes in Long Island Two years ago we updated our heating system and the unit started to make quite a bit of noise right under our bedroom window. The company came back a couple of times and could not fix the horrible noise. They said, "Live with It." They left and never heard from then again. I asked people in our community and many folks recommended Gallett Air very highly. I called and took a yearly contract with them. They were very courteous and professional. They sent a manager named Paul down to see what he could do about the noise. We could not sleep in our master bedroom due to this horrible vibrating sound from the A/C unit. Paul was polite, humble and so nice my wife wanted to hug him when he finished his work. He took his time and got rid of the horrible noise in about a 1/2 an hour. What a wonderful company Gallett Air is. Kind, polite, prompt and solved the problem that no one else could. My wife is the President of our H.O.A. Board and you can be assured that we will absolutely recommend Gallett Air to all our homeowners. It is a pleasure to find a company that has its customers interests in their hears. Carmine and the rest of the team at Gallette were on the top of their game when I needed their help. Yesterday, Carmine (owner himself), came out to oversee a troubleshoot/repair of my AC system. Usually providers will put you in a queue (first in, first out) and treat you like a number. I spoke with Carol and told her that I have four young children, two seniors, a dog and a 9 month pregnant wife at home, as well as family visiting from Dallas. Needless to say, we had some extraordinary circumstances. Not only did they prioritize our situation for my household, they didn't sacrifice other customers because Carmine knew they needed all hands on deck. He himself, brought the tools, knowledge and experience and determined that there was a defect in one of the compressors that was causing our home to melt. In fairness, Carmine talked us through the diagnosis and repair and there were some significant costs that were not covered under warranty. But knowing that we just bought the house, he wanted to do right by us and covered those additional costs in the spirit of being a good neighbor. Doing good by doing right and doing right by doing good. This is a company that will have my business for the foreseeable future. During Sandy my AC system was wiped out. I had tried to get quotes from the company that had installed it and got a hard time and a ridiculous price...I then tried a few other companies that wanted to give me inferior systems at high prices....while discussing the coverage of the unit with my adjuster, he said he was having the same problem, but somehow found Gallett and said they offered him a fair deal...so I called them...they had someone to my house to survey the job within a few hours and a written quote to me later that day....it was for a very good quality system and at a price that I thought was wrong...just over 50% of the other prices I had gotten and for a much better system that has operated flawlessly since installed for the 2013 Summer season. The installers were very professional...polite and neat....the installation included a 5 year no cost warranty...never a problem scheduling the season start up and they always arrive at the appointed time...I now pay for the "contract", but it is reasonably priced ,and again easy to schedule the included season "start up"...this is a super efficient system that has helped keep electric bills in control..I highly recommend this company ...they seem to run this business the way it should be run read more

Our central a/c crapped out 7/18. Did a lot of vetting and pulled the trigger on replacing 70 year old oil fired forced air heating system and a/c with GallettAir. Nice clean install with very good follow-up service. The equipment they install is good quality (checked all the manufacturers out too) and would recommend GallettAir to all my family and friends. On that note my daughter had a gas fired hot water heating issue last week. Having no service contract I recommended GallettAir. Well, after just a couple hours GallettAir servicemen (2 trucks) met at her East Northport house to address the issue. They identified the issue but being an older system could not immediately fix it due to a very hard to find part. Just a couple hours later, on a Friday night, the Service Manager found the correct part, came to the house and installed it. Then Mr. Gallett shows up to insure everything is correct. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. My 2 year old granddaughter slept well that night. My son-in-law will be writing the check on a new (safe) gas boiler so it's his decision on who to use. He'll likely go with my bias towards GallettAir. read more

It was the end of December, near Christmas, on one of the coldest nights of the year when my home furnace went out. I sent photos to GallettAir and they helped me by explaining a quick and easy fix (thermocouple replacement). They did not charge me and was more interested in helping me get my heat back then making a quick buck. Carmine sent several messages explaining what the issue could be and step by step instructions on a fix. He also gave me the option of immediate service, in the middle of the night, at a reasonable fee. Carmine also offered next day service for an even cheaper rate since it was the next day. He gave the service options in case it wasn't the thermocouple or if I was not handy with tools. For a business to diagnose remotely and giving instructions on an repair is unprecedented. It shows that he does care and is honest with customers. Every other company was giving me the option to come out to inspect for a fee and to charge an unknown amount once they determined the issue. Hats off to GallettAir for helping that night and for thier honesty. I will definitely be using them for future projects. read more

I just had GallettAir come get my new AC up and running for the season. I have also had them do my hot water heater and by gas boiler. I have had around 10-12 of their employees in my house over the last year. One thing I have to say about each and everyone on of them is that they were all professional, respectful, and trustworthy in my home. I have two small children and they always made sure the keep the noise down during naps and to keep their workspace as clean as possible. (They even work plastic coverings over their boots when they walked through my house to set all of my thermostats.) The review below regarding them being thefts or drug users is COMPLETELY false. Not only will I continue to use them for ALL of my heating and cooling needs in the future, but I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for their services.
