Another amazing waffle from Slothful Waffle! Amazing every time! Stopped by for a waffle at Columbia's First Friday! I always get the Southern Sunshine, but I noticed after I ordered that they have new specialty waffles! I'll have to head back again soon.

Columbia has a SOLID Texas style BBQ joint...Boot Stompin' BBQ. It was late afternoon when I…read morearrived and Bobby (Pitmaster) warmly greeted me and we started talking about BBQ. I like to sample a variety, so I went with the Bobby's Usual of brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pulled pork with Bobo's Hot Corn + Hillbilly Beans. He offered onions, pickles, and jalapeños as side condiments along with their homemade BBQ sauce. I initially sampled the meats without sauce, but I have to say the sweet/smoky flavor of the sauce is a great compliment to the meats. You can tell Bobby learned his trade from Texas...solid brisket with a thin fat cap with a nice peppery crust. The pulled pork was perfect...moist and tender but still maintaining firmness. While the sausage is not made in-house, you could have fooled me. Nice crispy skin with a good jalapeño kick and plenty of cheese. The sides are exceptional! I loved the sweetness of the beans, and the Bobo Corn (I believe it's grandma's recipe) was addicting. Don't let the name fool you...there's a little heat, but the flavors are wonderful. I chopped a bit of onion and pork into the beans, a great flavor combination. The atmosphere is bright and open with some Texas decor...great place for family. Really good food and excellent service from this TX style BBQ spot...looking forward to my next visit to Columbia for more.

I saw a line right when I got there that kept growing! I had the chance to speak to the woman who handed me my lemonade & she let me know that it was her daughter's business. I think it's very admirable to be starting a business & pursuing all of the work it takes at such a young age. This place will go far!! I had the Wildberry Lemonade in a large. Two prices: small at $3, large at $5 (super affordable). It was yummy!! I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I think a little more sugar would've made it perfect. I can't wait until they open up a brick & mortar shop in Fountain Valley. I have been looking for a good lemonade spot in OC & I'm happy to see this small business growing. Tip: They also offer pre-orders over the phone for pick-up at a later date during the week. Their flavors should be posted on their Instagram. Also, they currently take cash & venmo!! That made the transaction a lot easier for me. Love this spot & I hope they have more pop-ups soon!!

I walked by this truck with tacos, nachos, burritos and such that had a pretty long line and kept that in my mind as I walked around a bit more. I ended up at the taco truck and went with their number 8 (quesabirrias) my total was a little over $17. They didn't have prices listed so I was surprised by the total and a little annoyed at how expensive it was but then I got my food and the annoyed feeling went away. These are simple, not stacked and stuffed with tons of different ingredients but each item in that box was made so perfectly. This was probably one of the top ten best foods I've eaten in my entire life. You get 4 tacos with the order. The meat is juicy and full of flavor. There's also cheese in there and maybe cilantro, I'm not sure. I just know every bite was incredible. The shells have been cooked in the meat juices and are flavorful and crispy. They give you 2 different salsas. The red was too spicy for me so I went with the green. It was a perfect compliment to the tacos. They also come with a dipping sauce that I believe is the meat drippings and idk what else but yum! I ate one taco at the fair and brought the rest home. I ate one when I got home. Still delicious. When I woke up the next morning my tacos were the only thing on my mind. I made one for breakfast. To reheat I microwaved it just for about 15 seconds and then stuck it in a hot pan to crisp it up again. It was perfect even reheated. The final one was my lunch and I wanted to cry when I didn't have any more left. It's been 2 weeks and I keep thinking about these tacos. They were so amazing. I wish this truck was closer to us. I'd be there weekly. There people know what they are doing with their food. I forgot to mention while I was in line a little boy, maybe 5, speaking Spanish with his family got his tacos and took a bite and said mmmmm now that's a taco! That's when I knew I was at the right spot. Amazing food. Amazing

Connected conveniently to the entrance of The Factory; The August Sage Cafe sets the brunch bar high in Columbia. * The decor is modern, laid back, and inviting. * The staff was very kind, warm and a pleasure to interact with. * My honey cinnamon latte was hot, well crafted, and a nice balance of bitter and sweet. * The breakfast taco was a fantastic blend of flavors and presentation-- definitely was worthy of sharing on socials. I'll be honest, I was so in the moment and enjoying my time that I forgot to snap pics of everything. I guess you will just have to take my word for it and go experience this great find for yourself.
