This place used to be my favorite on the strip! We used to go for cheap drinks and foot-long $1.99 hotdogs. And now its been replaced by Nathans unimpressive dogs :/ They swapped out a lot of slots for Arcade games, which is decent, but I'm just generally disappointed in the changes. read more

i was excited to go to sluts R fun . i thought it was going to be a really fun place. it was a let down . mostly slot machines and on the left side of the casino are fast food stands that rosanne barr would be afraid to eat at . i didnt play the slot machines but maned up the courage to use the bathrooms in the back. the smell was bad in the bathrooms and in the casino. i bought some gifts at the gift store on the right side before leaving this stank ho house and going into circus circus . read more

I thought this place was deserted because we were here at 3am, but having passed by it several different times throughout the day, it seems that it's just always empty. Surprising, considering its reputation as the go-to place for cheapo gambling on the Strip. Perhaps this was because all the table games are now automated (from what I hear, there WERE live dealers here at one point), and the Blackjack/Poker tables are manned by an array of creepy pre-taped video dealerettes. Or maybe it's because the cocktails are watered down even by "free drinks at a cheap casino" standards. Still, aside from the emptiness (and a couple of scary hobos continuously declaring their love for anal intercourse), this is an all-right spot to spend minimal money in maximum time. The $1 Blackjack table kept me entertained for a good while, and I only ended up $5 in the hole. I would probably prefer to stay closer to civilization at Casino Royale if I want to gamble on the cheap, but if you are staying on the north end, this place is still worth a visit. read more

My husband and I took a special side trip to Circus Circus just to try out Slots A Fun. Maybe this place has just lost its charm, but I couldn't find the hot dog stand ( I think its gone) and there was just an overpriced Subway inside. Nothing special at all about this place and wouldn't go back. read more

If you want cheap gaming this is the spot, $5 blackjack, video poker, big hot dogs, lots of slots, I love the big one outside someone always win a few bucks, but skip the margaritas they really don't put much liquor in them. Ok so this is as low budget as one can get on the Las Vegas Strip (sorry Casino Royale). Great food deals (two Nathan's hot dogs for 3.50 I think) , cheap booze and low limit table games. Plus 24 hour Beer Pong. If you need to get away from the luxury of the Venetian, or you are feeling just a bit too clean at Wynn, stop by and slum it. 1 star for the nasty 99 cent 1/2 pound hot dog that is uneatable even when starved. But 5 stars for having dime slot machines and video poker machines from 1983 and those old games where the quarters shoot out and try to push other quarters down to you. This review makes several assumuptions. 1) That you are not "dragging kids" along on a family vacation to Vegas? 2) That you do not live in the SF Bay Area 3) That you do not come to Vegas to win $$ but to lose it slow enough to have some fun. 4) That there is a better than average chance you are young enough to still enjoy beer. I've been coming to Vegas for over 20 years and I think the crap table @ Slots is great. It's the only one on the Strip where you can actually get a great whiff of diesel fuel (from the bus) as you play. People watching here is outstanding, so much better than watching the bozos in the pinstripes down at NYNY roll for 5k a roll. Stand there with your $300 and see how out of place you feel. If you are rich enough to live on Park Avenue or SF, then you have too much $$ and you are required to stay at Bellagio, the Venician or better yet the Palms. Maybe you'll get to go home and say you saw Paris Hilton. You will not find her at Slots. Nobody sez you have to the eat the food, what do you expect for a 99 cent hotdog that you pay less per inch for than at McDonalds? Spring for a Subway sandwich and get decent food. Don't want to drink GOOD beer cheap? Want to get "proper odds" @ a table, then go elsewhere. The odds are still with the house you know. If you want to drink, gamble cheap, and have fun, then this is among the few places on the Strip that is like going downtown. Why do locals and repeat vistors go downtown? The same reason they come to Slots. Nobody sez you have to stay there. It's an old school dive, like Binions downtown. But it's fun!! read more

ive been to vegas many times with my family as an underage kid who sat in the backseat of the rental car, looking out of the window at the flashy casino signs, gimmicky decorations and oversized replications of worldly places-- i cant help but to remember one thing-- the giant sign above slots a fun, advertising a giant hot dog :] so last year i finally turned twenty one, with a goal in my mind-- im going to get a giant hot dog. sure i gambled, drank alcohol like there was no such thing as a hang over, but i also found my way walking down las vegas blvd in freezing cold weather (it was january) without a jacket, just to get the frankfurter of my dreams. after two hours of walking from mandalay bay to slots a fun, i thought for sure we were going to give up or else there was a good possibility we might turn into the donner party and eat each other, but we made it with all of our limbs intact :] we ordered our dogs, sat at the counter and ate them in silence amidst the loud casino, feeling fat and accomplished all at the same time. i even bought a hot dog for my little yorkie waiting for us back at the hotel-- but sadly, i dropped it on the ramp going to caesar's palace. it was a sad, sad night. but honestly, my puppy wasnt missing anything. the hot dogs werent that huge, but maybe thats because im used to my dodger dogs back home :] read more

Dark, dingy, and smoke filled, this little casino sans hotel is everything you'd expect from a seedier, downtown casino. At least the tables are very cheap. Int he morning, there are always gambling specials, so if you're on a budget, this is a great place to come. Its location isn't very convenient, though, so you might want to look elsewhere if you're looking to be entertained. I have to say that I'm not a big gambler, so perhaps this would be more attractive to someone who comes for the gambling rather than the sights. read more

Slots A Fun used to be a really cool place. Small, personal. You could play table games or slot machines, video poker, etc. When we visited last year, they had taken out the table games, and put in pool tables. We were just there this month again, and there are big areas where they don't have anything. Not even machines. I hope that doesn't mean they are going to close. I don't see how it's still going. They used to have a free spin there, that was a really fun thing. They did have the Ghostbusters game, which my husband and I love, but we quickly lost our money, so we left and went back to Circus Circus. read more

Slots A Fun is a small place where you can get drunk fast and eat for waaaay cheap. $3.99 for a a soda, bag of chips, and a 1/2 lb hot dog! can't beat that kinda deal. Since its a small place, the drink hostesses cover the slot and table game area in a short time so, you are able to sit a gamble and get comp drinks really quickly. read more

This is a throw back review so if you start reading this thinking this is how it still is you are going to be very disappointed when you get there. But then again I would hope my review wouldn't be the only one you would have read considering theres a 100 more on this establishment. I used to go to this place since I was 8 years old. To put it in perspective I'm 42 now. Back then kids could walk through through this casino without being hassled. But let me back up a bit. We would always stay at Circus Circus hotel. This was the place to stay if you were a kid. However thats another review but you first must know that Slots A Fun was or still is owned by Circus Circus. After a long morning under the big top the afternoon munchies would settle in and I would walk out the automatic doors at the north east (3 o clock) of the casinos to head over to Slots A Fun. Why would you ask? Well first off was to grab a coupon book from the nice circus employee right before walking through those automatic doors that lead you to Deli heaven. That coupon book had one and only one coupon that I would use.. It was for the free bag of popcorn. I'll get to that a little later. As soon as you walked through that door exiting circus circus the heat would be intense. You just couldn't wait to make it 25 yards to Slots A Fun to enter yet another smoke filled air conditioned casino. And this place was a bit on the small side so it really reeked of smoke. If your clothes didn't smell like smoke when you walked in they definitely would when you walked out. I would B line it for the Deli racing through a maze of slots. Stomach growling. The sound of coins hitting metal tubs. Slot machine sound effects blaring. Man there was nothing like it. After you get through the thick of one arm bandits you arrive to the belly of the beast. Now let me put the establishment in perspective. If you were standing at the entrance looking in, to the left of you was the enormous bigger than life slot machine which cost a dollar to spin. What a gimmick. Who wouldn't want to spin the biggest one arm bandit that boarders Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon and Utah. Right in the center were all the cheap back jack, poker, and crap tables. Yes they had crap tables at one point at no they weren't crappy. And to the left of that mess of tables was the best Deli on the north end of the strip. At least it was for me because this was my world. Aw yes the Deli (See I was getting to food as some point in this review) . The line started by the walk up bar so as you waited to order the food you could order the .99 cent Heineken. No matter. I was in it for the food. Now lets get back to the popcorn coupon. Thats what I would cash in first. Get that fluffy aired treat to hold me over while waiting in line to get the real stuff. That was my .99cent Heineken. Now what to choose from the menu. Their piled high roast beef sandwiches that we're so thick you would need at least 4 to 6 packets of mayo to moist it down. Their .99 cent shrimp cocktails were legend. The shrimps were as small a thimble. No kidding. Smallest shrimp I still have ever seen. They would sit on a mound of celery that was all drenched in cocktail sauce that all rested in an actual cheap plastic cocktail cup. Saltine crackers was your pairing with this delectable seafood treat. But I wasn't there for that. I was there for only one thing and that was the (Insert heaven angle music here) HALF POUND HOT DOG!. Yes all beef (yeah right) with your choice of kraut, chili, or liquid gold (insert applause here) plus your normal fixings. This dog was so big it dwarfed the enormous bun it rested in. You couldn't eat this thing like a normal hot do trying to torpedo it into your cocked head. No this was a knife and fork monstrosity. Or at the very least cut it in half and then go cave man on it. I went through plenty of napkins believe me. Maybe that's why this place didn't make it. Couldn't afford enough napkins, saltine crackers and popcorn? Kidding. Around 2000 a Subway was put in place of the Del (Insert movie soundtrack Platoon here). They dumbed down the deli into a stand and you could still get the dogs (only dogs). Then around 2008 a Nathans went in place of the deli stand. No more half pound hot dogs. So, so sad. And just like that it was gone. Like it never existed. Some people say they sell them at a deli in Circus Circus but they are not the same half pounders. One last thing... This little (no more than 5 feet tall) old (60's) white haired lady worked this deli. She must have been full time because she was always there. I always thought she remembered me because she would call me, "honey." I guess i was just a naive kid but it made me feel good and brought a smile. She is and will be always a part of my memory when thinking about this place. God knows she isn't with us anymore but she will be with me as long as I'm alive. read more

I wanted to like this place so freaking bad. But Slots A Fun was just full of Slots A Germs and Slots A Mullets. SERIOUSLY. Why does everyone at Circus Circus have a mullet? I'm beyond disappointed. This place has various casino games, and the people playing them are a pretty accurate predictor of what a Zombie Apocalypse would look like, you can tell these people haven't seen the light of day in a while. I thought the idea of the beer pong tables were cool, but I was so skeeved out by this place that I can't imagine playing beer pong here. If that ball rolled on the floor and then I had to put it in my cup, I would definitely catch an illness. There is a Nathan's and a Noble Roman's food stand in the back. Who knew that a hot dog could take 35 minutes to prepare. There is also a discount ticket booth in the back. This whole place needs a hazmat team to do a thorough scrubbing immediately. read more

I first visited Slots A Fun in 1980 as a young dude..re: not 21. Hinikens were .50 cents and they had a champange fountain for all to enjoy (very gross theses days, but it was FREE BOOZE). I hit the place each Veags trip and yes there is at least one Black Jack Dealer still there from the old days (as of last month!) Run don't walk to this place, it's as old school as you'll get any more. Funnest crowd and best people, just ask....., all ages, they come back before it's gone. One player told me "This place can't go away" . But....Even as recent as '08 you could park behind the pink advendure dome and take that walk down the creepy alley between C.C. and the Westward Ho to S.O.F. It was sooo cool. Not any more W.Ho. is gone...you can't even take that walk anymore. Viva Slots A Fun! read more

This place is no longer was it once was. No more fun thrills and cheap food. I remember going in there it was ALWAYS crowded, even people overflowed onto the sidewalk. Their famous $2 Heinekens and $1 half pound hot dogs and shrimp coctails.. and the best of all were real dealers at the blackjack and roulette tables. It's all been replaced. Video blackjack and video roulette. Where's the fun in that? No more cheap beer or food either, just a subway and Nathan's. And worst of all it's deserted now.. it was one of the last old school feel places and now that feeling is gone! read more

Slots a fun is a gambling hall dating back to what smaller LV gaming was like before in the 70s and 80s. Giving you a different feel, people came for the $1 hot dogs and you have a definitely younger feel at the casino here than the major ones on the strip. I remember coming here 15 years ago when I couldn't afford the $15 -$25 minimums of the main casinos for table games and you could enjoy blackjack or the other games for $2 a hand or $5 a hand. It would get rowdy here with the younger crowd and drink specials as the night went on! Now it's looking a little more tired as it ages and you wonder how much longer they can keep a go at it before the wrecking ball or dynamite blows the place up. The N end of the strip will be revitalized I. The next 10-20 years as the boom comes back and then the property here will be worth a lot. Till the it's an aging casino that has seen many a wild night and we shall see how long it lasts! read more

what a dumpy place. The slot machines pay out in real nickels. Cashing out $20 takes about 5 minutes and scooping the change into the cup turns your hands black. The card tables near the entrance blows the cards up sometimes. The only plus is the cheap hot dogs and the cheap craps minimum. It's far off the strip and not worth the hike. read more

Ok, well I didnt go here to play slots or cheap table games. I happened to be nearby and hungry. I started to recall the Yelp reviews about the cheap hot dogs that are available and figured, what the hell. So I go inside and there is the snack area that sells the hot dogs right next to the Subway. Huge line at Subway and nobody at the snack bar. I think "Hmm, surely these people do not know about these glorious hot dogs. What a pity!". Most likely they were looking at me and thinking, "Look at that idiot standing alone at THAT place. Does he believe EVERYTHING he reads? What a pity!". So I order the hot dog and make it the combo. It says you get a hot dog, a bag of chips, and a 20 oz soda for $3.99. I think thats what it cost at least. I'm trying to erase the whole episode from my mind so I may be off a little on the price. The soda you get is actually a lot larger than 20 oz though. Anyways, on to the hot dog. Why did I even take a bite of this mystery meat concoction? First off it was cold. I should of just threw it away and chalked it up to another Vegas gamble that didnt pay off. But no I'm too damn stubborn. Took a bite and almost vomited. Got up to throw it away. Even that was an ordeal. Having to maneuver through a maze of rats with wings...errr pigeons....must be part of the ambience that people seem to like about this place. I will be back to do some gambling I am sure. I WONT be back to do further damage to my intestines though. read more

Great place came here when I lived in Vegas, Jersey Joe is the best bartender in Vegas and one of the nicest guys I have ever met. One of the bartenders is a pompous a** (Slade). Cheap beer and fun times, nothing like the Wynn, and it is connected to circus circus but kids are not allowed in here!! read more

Upgrades ruined this place. About 10 years ago I got my first taste of slots a fun. I loved it. One night, myself and my best friend were playing these two nickel machines in the back. We played for 12 hours then got our sorry butts on the bus and went back to the hotel at 5am. We loved those machines. It was one of the few places you actually put your nickel in. .50 roulette, you played for the love not to get rich. We ate at the subway in the middle of the night. Although overpriced it was good and surprisingly we didn't get sick!!! Now slots a fun has been killed by modern gambling. It's electronic now, no putting in your nickel and pulling the reel. The table games are closed. I did play some video roulette because we walked a good ways to get there and I wasn't going to make it a wasted trip. They should have just left it be. If I'm in the area I'll stop in. But back in the day we would go out of our way and travel down the strip to get there and play. It was our favorite spot. Now it's just a dumpy version of what modern casinos are. Boo. read more

SLOTS A FUN!!! Hope they give me enough room on here for this review! My wife and I traveled to LV this past weekend for a 4 day getaway and we stayed at the Riviera which is across the street from Slots A Fun. On Sunday night (our second night there) we walked outside of our hotel and she NEEDED the tour of probably the 2 most shady casinos on the strip. We headed across the street to Circus (squared) and entered this fine esatblishment. We quickly exited... my wife was scared that we could be stabbed. We then proceeded next door, to the home of the HUMONGOUS HOTDOG... SLOTS A FUN!!! For a mere $3.99 you can get a hotdog thats long as your arm, a Dr. Pepper (which most places in LV dont have... thanks a lot Pepsi!) and a sack of chips. You have to try this just because its been a staple in LV for the down on there luck forever. I new this was going to be an adventure upon entering. Reminder, she has never been in here before. If you are a people watcher this is the place to go. It is dark and dimmly lit. There are probably 10 tables which are from blackjack, let it ride, etc. It would resemble someone setting up a casino in there 2 car garage. The craps table is 2 feet from the sidewalk of Las Vegas Blvd. Throw them to hard and the dice could end up getting stuck in a passer by's fanny pack. We continued through the casino which has probably 150 slot machines, which are mostly penny slots. After going all the way to the rear of the casino and back to the front we figured out that the average age of the people in there was from 50-60 years old and averaging 13 teeth each. No 2 teeth touching each other! I convinced her we needed to play here, just so she could say that she had. We sit down at a black jack table (single deck where you actually get to handle your cards) and proceeded to play. She is new to this so at $5 a hand i figured this would be a good schooling place. We were at the table for about 20 minutes when the guy sitting in the first seat kept hitting his cards until he had 4 cards that added to 36! This is a first for me! Ive never seen someone get a 36 on a black jack table. It was great and added to the aura of this fine establishment. I laughed my ass off until i realized he was affecting my NOT $5 bets! I decided to get up and walk around while my wife continued winning $5 at a time. I walked around the sidewalk craps game and saw something interesting. A black jack table with a miniature wheel of fortune looking wheel at the top of it. It was called the WHEEL OF MADNESS... I figured what the hell i will sit down and check it out. It was like something out of Vegas Vacation. There were 3 guys sitting there. Two of them were brothers, one of them 22 and the younger one was his 21st birthday, and a friend traveling with them. They were drinking and having a blast so I thought I would join them. The Wheel of Madness comes into play if you put from $1-$5 in a little circle above your normal bet and you get a natural blackjack. You then spin the wheel and what ever $ amount it lands on you get. The first hand dealt to me was a blackjack! The amounts are from $10-$1000! My first spin was worth $12. The guys went wild! A couple of hands later I hit it again... another $12 on the wheel. They went crazy again. At this time i thought about charging them for high fiving me! The fun was just about to begin as the 3 kids started chanting Wheel of Death! They were going wild! I dont drink so I was having a blast watching and listening to them carry on. By this time my wife heard all of the comotion and seeing that she was tired of watching the mathematically challenged guy sitting at first base at her table she joined the fun. She had just walked over when I hit another blackjack. She saw the dealer present the little green button from under the table and asked what in the hell is that thing. I told her when you blackjack you get a free spin on the little wheel and you win whatever you land on. She could barely here me from the 3 noisiest, but fun guys from North Carolina! I pushed the button and the chanting began... until it landed on $1000! Those guys went crazy! THere were people on the street walking inside to watch me fill out IRS paperwork ! The pit boss came over to give me the papers and to my suprise he was missing a front tooth! The dealer handed me 10 $100 chips and we were having fun! To sum up my experience there is kind of funny. Its the seediest, shadiest, dirtiest, darkest casino in Las Vegas and I had the time of my life there. We went back every night and gambled there and had the time of our lives. I guess no matter if hookers, bums, drunk college kids or whoever is around you win $1000 on a $6 blackjack bet you to will have a great time. If you go to Vegas, head straight for Slots A Fun and sit down at the Wheel of Death and see how things turn out for you! read more
