Beauty is pain my friends! Fortunately, at SLS Laser Center it is virtually painless. I'll get into the details later. Unless you know SLS Laser Center, you would probably never see it. It's inside a dingy-looking strip mall sandwiched between a liquor store and a Subway. The exterior is definitely not attractive and I was having some serious doubts as we pulled into the parking lot. Once you walk in, it's like you've been transported into a luxurious doctor's office. The waiting area is an open room with a very comfortable large L-shaped suede couch. They have a large plasma tv and a great selection of magazines to keep you busy while you wait. What's great about SLS is that they charge you based on time. I believe they do it in increments of 15 minutes. Now, let's get back to why I said it's virtually painless here. I've been to another treatment center in Huntington Beach and the machine they use causes a lot more pain. I talked to the nurse about their machine because I noticed it was a lot louder than the machine I've previously experienced. They use a GentleMax machine made by Candela. The laser for hair removal creates this pulsating heat but the Candela shoots out cool air (DCD) so it literally feels like a second of hot air hitting your skin. You won't get any of that snapping of the rubber band sensation with this machine! When you make an appointment, make sure you request for Linda. She is very professional and sweet. Unlike other places, she won't push you to spend here. She's very honest and clearly wants you to get the most out of your money. Van Nuys might as well be in another state as far as I am concerned because I would never think about driving all the way out there but Linda and that wonderful contraption that is the GentleMax machine won me over.

My happy place. From body hair removal laser to Botox and fillers. The ladies at this location make my days very pleasant. I started with basic hair removal laser a few years back and could not believe the results. The price can't be beat, the nurses are kind and patient. I refer everyone I know to this location. The machines make it virtually painless! I started doing Botox and lip fillers last year with SLS. I could not be happier! Subtle look and it makes me feel special and put together in a whole new way. Book your appointment ahead of time! They are packed busy everyday, that alone speaks to their satisfied clients.

So I was over shaving and having razor burn and all my friends where getting laser but paying way to much money. A girl that I work with recommended Sls laser center. She said it was cheap and awesome. I went to their website and saw that they had packages and that they were really reasonable. I went in for upper lip, bikini, and underarms it was 85 dollars a session; 4-6 sessions that is. They have other packages, but that is the one I choose. They are sweet and explain everything to you. What you can and can not do! I definitely recommend this place if you need hair removal. One thing I do have to say pain is beauty and in certain areas of my body it was painful, but in others it wasn't. It is definitely worth the pain! lol! Its only 4-6 weeks of pain you need to endure. read more

Great place , I went to a different laser center before this one and saw no difference . A good friend of mine had gone to SLS and recommended I try it out . I was immediately impressed that they educated me on laser hair removal and I had a medical eval/consultation with a nurse . This did not happen at the first place I went to . At SLS I payed 100$ a session which included lower legs, bikini and underarms . AMAZING price . And I saw immediate results , the hair fell out and thinned immensely. I used to be embarrassed if I didn't shave for a day but now I can go almost a week with very unnoticeable fine hair . It's been a year and I didn't do the touch ups at all even though they are recommended . the 4 stars is because I would give 4 1/2 , the only reason being that there was one girl who worked there and she would miss spots on my legs sometimes . The Russian woman is excellent . Also I don't remember her name but there's an Armenian girl who runs the front desk and is always fun to talk to and nice . read more

I am obsessed with this place!! I hate hair, and shaving in those sensitive areas just was causing irritation. I decided to try laser. What's crazy is that this place costs less than waxing at most places. I'm not going to lie, it does hurt, but it is tolerable, especially with the numbing cream. I am almost done with my treatment and couldn't be happier. SLS is the best deal for laser and it is very effective! Only thing is I did my arms which was thin light brown hair and it was not really effective there, but on my brazilian and armpits... it did wonders. I never have to worry about hair again. I shave only when I need to, once every 6 weeks or once a month. No irritation, no ingrown hairs.. and the hair now is so thin.. It's amazing!! It's just awesome to see your hair fall out and grow in so much thinner! I've been scared of waxing since it pulls out your hairs.. and I'm glad I never waxed, because this place is amazing.. AGAIN! I referred three friends here and each is just as amazed and obsessed as I am. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars because of my previous experience. I don't always do yelp reviews but I am very upset. I have been coming here for over 3 years because of how conveniently located it is to my house and there's plenty of parking space. I get a lot of areas touched up and one is the bikini. About a year and a half ago I was burned for the first time and I didn't make a big deal because it wasn't that bad. I let them know the next time I went and they adjusted the machine and all was fine until it happened one more time. I told them again and they adjusted the machine. I am not rude customer and I believe I was polite when I brought that to their attention. Another issue I had was that a couple of times I would arrive on time for my appointment and had to wait extra time which is why I'm so upset of what happened over the weekend. I had an appointment at 5:30 and called them around 2 to reschedule because Mother Nature surprisingly stopped by. I explained to the receptionist what the issue was and she told me she could reschedule me but had to charge me $25 for a "no show." A "no show" is not showing up and I was letting them know so I was upset and she asked me how long I had been going there and and she realized I was a loyal customer and still said she couldn't waive the fee because it was the second time I would be doing this. On a previous occasion Mother Nature had stopped by I tried rescheduling and they said that I could go in like that and that it wasn't a big deal so I went and it was extremely uncomfortable so I was not about to do that again. I explained this to her and she said she couldn't do anything about it. I told her to cancel it and that I was not returning there again. I'm very upset because I have been going there for a long time, never complained the days I had to wait extra time, or the times I was burned by a nurse and aside from that I recommended at least 5 people! I hate when businesses do not appreciate loyal customers. Like really, $25 was not going to make a huge difference in their business but they sure did lose my service. read more

I have been a client of SLS for over 8 years. They truly are the best around for laser treatment. The prices are reasonable and the laser blows out cool air which does not make the procedure that painful. The nurses are very professional and the receptionist is always very nice and helpful. She has even watched my kids so I would not have to cancel my appointment when I did not have childcare. I love that they are open on the weekend! That's a plus when you live 80 miles away. read more

Well, my experience with this place started fine. I was very happy with the pricing and the quality. Then, slowly things starting going south but because I really liked them, I looked the other way. Basically, I will never return here again after the last phone call I had with the management. By far, the worst customer service. I think she wrote the book on how to mistreat your client. The turnaround of technicians has been high lately, the appointments are constantly changing and getting canceled. One day I showed up to my appointment and they were closed due to equipment failure but failed to call me. I've had to return a couple of times for "re-dos" that their nurse missed. After my nice explanation that I was a loyal customer and didn't want to lose my business to them, the owner or manager ended up yelling at him for all the comments I had shared, instead of consoling her loyal customer, she was horribly offensive. Laser shops are a dime a dozen now, save yourself a headache and go somewhere else (unless you don't mind all of the above). read more

I love this place. I have been to many other places for laser hair removal and I think this place does the best job. My hair keeps growing back from other places but when I come to SLS it lasts so much longer and is more permanent. I know it take differently to each person, but I did my armpits only 4 times and my hair never grew back. The bikini line I did 6 times and is totally gone. They also have the best prices out there. I have been going to this place for 2 years. They were always able to accommodate the scheduling for me because of my job I work crazy hours. However over the past few months I have had a bad experience the nurse kept missing spots on my face I believe she's new to the office. I would have to go back for her to redo the spots and believe me it was a hassle not only that when I would call them and tell them the receptionist who answers the phone would give me attitude and would seem bothered not to mention the nurse is very very serious not cordial what so ever to the point where I started feeling uncomfortable I didn't know if she was mad upset or just didn't want to be there. This past Friday i had an appointment and i called to cancel because it was 115 degrees in the valley and the receptionist of course answered with attitude placed me on hold then told me I would have to pay a $35 fee for cancelling. I explained this was not the first time I had cancelled an appointment she didn't care so I told her I would NEVER EVER go there again. I would always call as a courtesy when I would not be able to make they never gave me a hard time. It's very disappointing the way they treat their patients after going there for 2 years. They need new staff. I will now be going else where. read more

Great place, I took an appointment only for consultation but i liked them so much that I did 15m treatment. With 15min they did my full face, underarms and my lower arms. While I don't have deep wrinkles, I've noticed it really has helped to brighten my face and makes me look more awake and less tired. For my chin, we added some filler to elongate my face and make my face less round. I feel like it's a subtle change, but I've gotten so many compliments on how it just makes my face look more dainty. (Most people think I just lost weight in my face, but when I tell them I got chin filler, that's when they say how good it looks.) For laser hair removal, I was a bit apprehensive to get it since I have dark hairs and a lighter skin tone. I was afraid that I may get dark marks from the laser machine, as I had once experienced before. However, they listened to my concerns and reassured me that they would go on a low setting to prevent that. I didn't get any dark tracks afterwards, and I now only trust them to do the laser on my face. As far as professionalism goes, their staff is great at that. Dr. Jeng, Adrienne, and Sherry were great at listening to what I wanted at my initial consult and made me feel comfortable by addressing my concerns. For example, with the chin filler, I wasn't really sure how it would look and was a little curious if if would fit my face. They recommended to inject only half of my syringe first to see if I would be happy with the outcome. 2 weeks later, I came back to inject the rest and was happy they gave me that option. Some other places may not give you that option, so I can tell they really want their clients to have a positive experience.

The owner is a disgraceful human. I posted a picture of the burns I received from my laser hair treatment. I'm glad you have the recording so everyone can see what a liar you are because I DID NOT RUN. I TOLD Lidia I was taking the container because you all were trying to give me cream in an unmarked bottle and I wanted the actual cream with the name on it to show my dermatologist so please show the recording. I didn't steal it. And I DID NOT GET REFUNDED FROM GROUPON. you are a liar. I. Light my voucher from living social not Groupon. And I didn't even call them about this. So why are you lying? My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

Ladies save your time by not going to SLS center unless you have nothing else to do than sit and wait for hours-ohhh and yes don't forget to pay for that too. I have been customer for almost 4 years-because of a wonderful nurse who used to work there. Time to time I had to wait for max of 15 min extra to get in for treatment, if they where running behind which is acceptable since we all have unpredictable situations etc. Today I had worse costumer service-I come 10 min earlier to my appointment, there was another girl already waiting. No one there was rushing, nurse was talking and doing her own things. Finally, she invited other girl in, emmm my appointment should be started-10 min ago?! No! Ohhhh ya I forgot I have nothing to do just to sit and wait. I kindly ask front desk lady how long I am going to wait because I am planning my time, and do not want to get late to other places planed for a day, I got answer; soon.So I waited there hour, HOUR!? Than I again ask front desk what is going on how long I should wait? I got very rude and unprofessional, ugly answer; I don't know it's not my fault that the nurse got late to work and machine takes some time to get ready, do what ever you want! And it was in tone that she almost yell at me. Hellooooooo! I'm a customer and you should at least try to work out situation. I got a great deal from Groupon and decided to give them a try since their prices are supper affordable. I bought a deal to do my underarms only. I was just there last Thursday. The most important they have a free parking. The office is clean and looks nice. As usual I had to complete list of documents since it was my first visit and then I had a consultation or what they call exam by a Nurse Practitioner. He asked me list of questions and even took my blood pressure to make sure I can do laser treatment. I found this very interesting and at the same time I kind of felt very safe because I had a impression that I was in good hands. Guys I have been three different Laser places before going to SLS but never had a examination and never saw a doctor but only a Nurse. But here according to them I had to go through this exam to make sure the laser treatment is safe to perform on my skin. After the exam I met with the Nurse and she was very gentle and throughout the treatment she kept asking if I am OK. Since i got this deal from Groupon I first thought I would only go there for the deal I got from Groupon. But in my head I am thinking that I would definitely go back there for more areas. The place is clean, prices are unbelievable , staff are supper nice, they use advanced laser machines and my safety was their concern. I normally do not leave reviews but this is an exception and a must to share how happy I am with my treatments at SLS Laser Center. I started to come to them since 2012 and I would never change this place for anywhere else. I had laser treatments before them elsewhere and with such poor results and with a huge different in prices. I saw some good results since the first time I came to SLS and many years after I am still coming back to them. I am extremely happy to keep coming back. Diana is such a darling. She takes her time to listen to her clients and does her best to work things out for them and also she has such a good communication with everyone. nurses are amazing and very professional and also listen to the clients requesta. I have recommended many of my friends and some family members over to this center and they all have been happy as well and still coming back for touch ups. Starting off by saying I'm from the Bay Area.. so it takes me a while getting to this laser center. Been to numerous laser centers that I even lost count of. This by far is literally THE BEST laser center ladies & gentlemen. I got my lower body done & I have to say my nurse did a throughput job. Staff is immensely professional. The nurses are so logical on what they're doing. They're not money hungry at all. Previously, I was going to a laser center and they were scheduling me every 2-3 weeks & I had absolutely no clue that they were ripping me off. The staff here at SLS Laser schedule you exactly when you need to come. Definitely do your research before being a loyal client to any laser center. Prices are great as well. I used to go to SLS for hair removal. I got 7 or 8 treatments on my legs. Great results haven't shaved my legs for months. I Just recently received a deal on Groupon for BOTOX. I was there last week. The nurse examined and explained everything in detail and suggested to use few units more Botox than what I had purchased on Groupon so I can get the result or the look that I was looking forward to get. First I was little upset but now I am glad I did. My boyfriend loved it. I definitely do recommend this place. The staff is nice and the place is clean. Okay this place is amazing!!! I love the nurses and the receptionists there, they all are super nice. I've been going here for about 5 months and i LOVE my results... I haven't shaved in forever and i don't even own a razor!!! My botox results are amazing also. I've done it twice and i couldn't be happier. This place is a hidden gem! They are super busy but they always try to squeeze you in for a quick session. OMG the prices are so reasonable! You will not find anywhere cheaper than this. LOVE THEM!!! Love this place. Went to LA beauty but didn't like it so much. I was referred here by one of my good friends. This place is super clean. I always see the receptionists cleaning. Love the staff a lot. They're very professional. The nurses are great, they don't make you feel uncomfortable at all. The short little receptionist is sweet as well. Honestly. I've been coming here for years and years. My mother introduced me to this place. It's super clean & in a very professional environment. I usually had Lyusia do my treatment but they told me that she doesn't work there anymore .. I was just used to her. But now krisal does my treatments & im pretty much in love with my results. This place is seriously the cutest. I highly recommend this place. This place is great. Clean, professional, and the receptionists are constantly asking if I've been taking new medication which is quite helpful. My favorite is the green room! I'm definitely referring my friends to go here. I've only met two of the nurses from my previous treatments. They are all sweet and don't make you feel uncomfortable.
