Beauty is pain my friends! Fortunately, at SLS Laser Center it is virtually painless. I'll get into the details later. Unless you know SLS Laser Center, you would probably never see it. It's inside a dingy-looking strip mall sandwiched between a liquor store and a Subway. The exterior is definitely not attractive and I was having some serious doubts as we pulled into the parking lot. Once you walk in, it's like you've been transported into a luxurious doctor's office. The waiting area is an open room with a very comfortable large L-shaped suede couch. They have a large plasma tv and a great selection of magazines to keep you busy while you wait. What's great about SLS is that they charge you based on time. I believe they do it in increments of 15 minutes. Now, let's get back to why I said it's virtually painless here. I've been to another treatment center in Huntington Beach and the machine they use causes a lot more pain. I talked to the nurse about their machine because I noticed it was a lot louder than the machine I've previously experienced. They use a GentleMax machine made by Candela. The laser for hair removal creates this pulsating heat but the Candela shoots out cool air (DCD) so it literally feels like a second of hot air hitting your skin. You won't get any of that snapping of the rubber band sensation with this machine! When you make an appointment, make sure you request for Linda. She is very professional and sweet. Unlike other places, she won't push you to spend here. She's very honest and clearly wants you to get the most out of your money. Van Nuys might as well be in another state as far as I am concerned because I would never think about driving all the way out there but Linda and that wonderful contraption that is the GentleMax machine won me over. read more

This place is awesome! Staff is super friendly! The moment you walk in you feel taken care of. The receptionist: Very pleasant and informative, will assist you with any questions you have. Definitely one of the most affordable laser places! They have such good deals. The ladies who work there are extremely professional and efficient. I've never had any issues with the lady who is administering the laser. She always checks in to see if I'm doing okay. She also asks to see if I would like any breaks considering its very painful. Amazing work with amazing people. Starting from Diana who was incredibly welcoming since the minute I walked in. The nurse was also amazing and made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire treatment. If you want amazing laser treatments, SLS is your go to. I've had a total of 3 treatments and my hair is almost completely gone. I used to go to several other laser places in Burbank and none of them have given me the results that SLS has given me. Ladies we're very kind , great location, very clean, and professional I came here and did full legs,however I was burnt and left horrible scars that have not been able to go away. I was given a cream that was supposed to help but no luck :( Update: after about a year of using the cream for my burnt laser scars they went away ! Do not go to this place very dirty and worst costumer service I ever seen, very rude receptionist. They don't respect their clients. Your time is not valuable to them. This is one of the best laser places in la that you can find. I have been to 2 more laser clinics and none of them are as clean and cheap as this one. Their staff is super nice and informed and they keep the wait time to a minimum. My nurse is Crystal and she is super nice and sweet. She makes sure your ok and asks regularly about previous visits. Their prices are super affordable and they know how to deal with tattoos or other stuff. Definitely the place to go if you need to get your hair lasered away with proffered nurses and nice staff and affordable price. read more

I've only been here once and obviously I haven't seen complete results but I think I do have faith in this place. I purchased a groupon for laser hair removal, I called and made an appointment and was seen within a few days. I arrived and omg it was in a strip mall, I wasn't expecting it to be a Beverly Hills spa but I had no idea it was in this location..whatever no big deal, anyhow I arrived, the nurse sat down with me and explained everything step by step and answered all my questions. The overall laser experience was easy and a lot quicker than I thought it would be, looking forward to my next 5 sessions and hope to be hair free..haha..She said based on my skin tone and my hair it would work on me..let's see. :) Glad I found this place been wanting to try it for a while now. I'm hesitant to write a review for SLS because I'm afraid they will become so popular that I'll never get an appointment. For years I suffered through bikini waxing at one of the most prestigious places in Los Angeles but waxing I've learned isn't all that it's cracked up to be! (No offense Pink Cheeks!) I started with my bikini area and that was next to painless the first time but as I upped the intensity I soon learned that I can only take so much. I have super sensitive skin so reactions from any beauty treatment is to be expected but nothing more than what I experienced with waxing. After waxing I have to apply Neosporin otherwise I breakout in whiteheads (no good for the lady bits) and even with the laser treatment I breakout but the results are worth the pain. Did I mention the prices are amazing, I was paying 50+ for a brazilian every 6-8 weeks which would have continued for the rest of my life. At SLS it's $20 for underarm, $40 for bikini (brazilian) and after four treatments I'm shaving *maybe* every two weeks. I was told it could take 6-8 sessions or more to see near perfect results but I was sold after just one. Even after just one treatment on my underarms I didn't have to shave for a whole month! If you've suffered through waxing like I did for years, please stop and call SLS! read more

By far one of the BEST laser centers ever. I've went to prolase, flawless, new look center but never got the results I wanted to see. I went to eat subway and randomly saw SLS LASER CENTER next to it. Walked in, the receptionist with orange hair was so nice and gave me an appointment right away. The nurse who did my treatment was an African American lady named Brenda. She didn't make me feel awkward at all. She made me laugh a lot as my treatment was happening. She was friendly. If I could give them 10 Stars I would! Every single person at SLS Laser center are absolutely amazing! So welcoming, and helpful! Hannah is the sweetest!! I've been waxing for years, and could never get used to the pain. Wanted to try a more permanent, or at least a longer lasting result. All I can say is I wish I would've done this sooner! If I can give this place a thousand stars I would. I've never been greeted with such a cheerful and genuine manner. As someone who worked as a front desk secretary for many, many years, I feel like the receptionists personality and customer service is always going to be everyone's first impression anywhere you go. Diana was absolutely wonderful and very helpful! The nurses are top notch, very welcoming and comforting and reflect positive energy. At a place where you are butt naked and about to get zapped in all the unmentionable places, I believe that it is very important to feel comfortable and not self conscious. I've been lasering at SLS for about over a year now and am stunned with my results not to mention the impeccable office and amazing staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes to feel welcomed in a small yet very comforting office. Great job to everyone at SLS for always keeping me happy! read more

I saw results after the first time already and I'm 3 sessions in and almost hairless!!!!!! I'm a satisfied customer. For someone sensitive with course hair. This is the choice for you!!! This is seriously THE best laser place ive gone to. Ive been to numerous laser centers. And this by far is absolutely the best. The prices there are super affordable. All there nurses are super nice, so sweet & they dont make u feel weird at all. They always ask me and remind me if ive been tanning or have used antibitiocs. Which is really helpful ! The front desk worker with orange blonde hair is super sweet. She squeezed me in when i called last minute because i called last minute. Long story short, i highly recommend this place to everybody. While I don't have deep wrinkles, I've noticed it really has helped to brighten my face and makes me look more awake and less tired. For my chin, we added some filler to elongate my face and make my face less round. I feel like it's a subtle change, but I've gotten so many compliments on how it just makes my face look more dainty. (Most people think I just lost weight in my face, but when I tell them I got chin filler, that's when they say how good it looks.) For laser hair removal, I was a bit apprehensive to get it since I have dark hairs and a lighter skin tone. I was afraid that I may get dark marks from the laser machine, as I had once experienced before. However, they listened to my concerns and reassured me that they would go on a low setting to prevent that. I didn't get any dark tracks afterwards, and I now only trust them to do the laser on my face. As far as professionalism goes, their staff is great at that. Dr. Jeng, Adrienne, and Sherry were great at listening to what I wanted at my initial consult and made me feel comfortable by addressing my concerns. For example, with the chin filler, I wasn't really sure how it would look and was a little curious if if would fit my face. They recommended to inject only half of my syringe first to see if I would be happy with the outcome. 2 weeks later, I came back to inject the rest and was happy they gave me that option. Some other places may not give you that option, so I can tell they really want their clients to have a positive experience.

After I called later that day once the burns started to develop the receptionist took my phone number and said she would have the owner call me to discuss what happened. Well he did call me and he was seriously the rudest person I have ever spoken to business wise. He would not let me finish not one of my sentences before interrupting me and asking "Where did you buy your sessions? Online or in our place? It's a simple question?" I wasn't even talking to him about payment, but wanted to explain what happened. Then he said "I'm busy and don't have time for this". I was in SHOCK that the conversation was going so terribly. Did I get a refund, yes, I did. But to me it wasn't even about the money. If I could do more to report his behavior I would. But for now I will just warn anyone about going here. The owner is a disgraceful human. I posted a picture of the burns I received from my laser hair treatment. I'm glad you have the recording so everyone can see what a liar you are because I DID NOT RUN. I TOLD Lidia I was taking the container because you all were trying to give me cream in an unmarked bottle and I wanted the actual cream with the name on it to show my dermatologist so please show the recording. I didn't steal it. And I DID NOT GET REFUNDED FROM GROUPON. you are a liar. I. Light my voucher from living social not Groupon. And I didn't even call them about this. So why are you lying? Trying to save face. Please everyone see what a horrible person he is threatening to call the police on me because of an honest review I gave of his terrible treatment and accusing me of stealing a cream that was given to me to treat my burns. And then lying saying I was double refunded when I was not. THIS PLACE IS OWNED BY A TERRIBLE PERSON. BEWARE.

Paid for a Laser Tattoo removal here. They had not even attempt to remove the color on my arm and…read morealways come up with an excuse. 7 sessions in and their has been fundamentally no change on the color of my tattoo I am trying to get removed. Each session I had a different provider and they would always repeat the same lines "You know it's going to be hard to remove this color" "You know it takes a while right?" I had expected them to at least start on my color or make the settings higher during my sessions but that does seem to be the case. They had also said "Oh we have to wait until your skin gets lighter before we can do these sessions." Stay away from Laser Away when it comes to getting a Laser Removal. They aren't likely going to give me a refund at all and say things like "We can provide store credit". Very displeased with the service I had gotten and felt my time was extremely wasted during the past year.
