Love SLS they have been my go to plumbers for 23 years now! Scott and the crew do quality work at a fair price!

Existing water heater was 13 years old and my wife noticed it started leaking last night. Called SLS as recommenced by my neighbor and Scott answered the phone immediately. As my other neighbors were had experienced the same problem with their water heaters in the last 3 years, I found out that I needed it to be replaced. He quoted me a price over the phone for a new water heater and labor and I trusted it to be fair as he was recommended by a good neighbor that uses their services for his other properties that he manages. Scott was able to send a team out in about 1 hour and Tony and Jake were very courteous, efficient, kind and professional. It took them a little while with a few unforeseen challenges but they worked with me and Scott took care of any unnecessary charges that could have easily incurred. It was a smaller tank than what I had but I was assured that it would be more than sufficient to take care of my household for at least the next several years. I will definitely be using SLS Plumbing for future services that I will need. read more

Scott and his technicians are a step above all others. We have had them in our home several times for various reasons and they have always helped us and the charges have been reasonable. Today was no exception when we had them out for a rocking toilet and a leaking cold water pipe to the water heater. Scott Jr. was professional and respectful. I am seeing SLS more than I see my kids. In the last month they've replaced a broken garbage disposal, fixed on an emergency basis (gas was shut off the the gas company) a gas leak and now replaced a broken hot water tank and installed a water line for a new fridge. Each time they were prompt. They knew exactly what had to be done. It got done in a timely manner and they left my place as clean or cleaner than when they got here. Why not 5 stars? They are expensive. I don't mind the labor costs. The quality of work is worth it. They way overcharge for the items used. If I had more time I could have saved about $400-500 by buying the water heater on my own and having it delivered. They way over charged for the disposal too. I know they get a discount too. I will continue to use them if needed but in the future I will try to buy items on my own. I don't mind a little extra as the convenience of them bringing the item and hauling away the old is worth it but their pricing is ridiculous. read more

Can't thank SLS enough. I was in my basement last week and I noticed one of the walls in my crawl was wet around my drain line. I was able to recreate the flooding. A different plumber came out that was recommended to me. He was professional, inspected the line, and told me "in my experience..." I asked him to scope the line to diagnose the issue so I could see it with my own eyes and he sold me on "that's an additional charge that won't fix the issue." He gave me a monstrous quote so I got a second opinion. I Googled my area and SLS came up. Called and Scott answered at 5PM and booked me for the following morning. They came out and immediately encouraged scoping the line. They found two blockages, rodded the line and cleared both. We tried to recreate the flooding and could not. They suggested that I address replacing the line (which includes digging outside) but that I could do it on my own time. When I do decide to replace the line, I will do it with SLS. read more

Unprofessional and overpriced! Big disappointment using them! I had to book an actual plumber service after these guys came and couldn't fix the leak. They brought an apprentice to teach him plumbing on my expense at 140$ an hour. Rude phone service as well. read more

We have sears warranty. So we called sears for plumbing issue and they assigned Mr Know it all Michael Conforti to the job. He came took $100 deductable and said he don't have the snake with him to open the stoppage. So he would come Monday with it (in other words came for $100). Then Monday we had to call him to see what time would he show up, but he addressed "if you stop calling I can come early). Then he showed up and tried to get more for the job by saying need to cut the pipe, because there is rag inside. So will need sears approval and meanwhile said I don't need supervision, and I said this is my house. So he snapped and left the job undone. A very rude individual, No recommendation what so ever. We called another Plummer and he was in and out within 10 mins. There was no rag just plain old blockage. Mr Michael Conforti is a lair. read more

Great service every time. When we have any plumbing issues, SLS is our go-to plumbers. Scott is the one the phone - he's always friendly and tries to setup an appointment as soon as possible, which we appreciate. Tony has been our plumber for more than a couple years now and he's the BEST! He's fixed all of our plumbing issues, including but not limited to, installing new fixtures to getting some yucky gunk out of the pipes (yikes - sorry about that Tony - did I mention he's the BEST?) I am very disappointed in this plumbing company. I just gave a google review and somehow my ONE STAR review was removed! The day after Thanksgiving (11-25) I had Scott come out to rod the clean out from roots after my sewer backed up on Thanksgiving day. It was observed that his employee used a very small cutter (2"). Within one month my downstairs toilet was bubbling again (12-21). I called Scott back since it was so recent that he was here and just paid him money to do the job which was obviously NOT done right. He told me that no one guarantees this and it sounds like I have a bigger problem. Needless to say I found a more reputable plumbing/rodding company that came out today (the very next day after I spoke to Scott). They INCLUDED camera televising the pipe and found 13 ft into the pipe loaded with more roots. They used 4" and 6" cutters and let us inspect the pipe before and after through the camera when they finished was totally clear. Beware of SLS. read more

We just moved to the 'burbs a few months ago and, of course, our home needed some work. I asked a friend for recommendations for some people I could trust. He mentioned SLS and they were exactly that; people we could trust. We had 4 new toilets installed (3 of which were super-fancy wall-mounted toilets), kitchen faucet, a couple of leaks, and a new water heater. All work was exceptional. Scott and his guys are punctual, polite, and hard-working professionals. They clean up after themselves. Scott and his guys are patient. They talk through with you whatever the issue may be. This is my first experience with SLS and I was very pleased. The property manager of our townhouse complex brought them in when it was discovered I had a water leak between the street and my meter. SLS ended up digging a very large, very deep hole on the outside of the foundation as well as in my crawlspace to replace the cracked water pipe inside the foundation wall. They were professional, on-time, clean working, safety oriented and although it took much longer than they anticipated due to the location of the pipe, they adjusted their schedule to accommodate. I was very impressed with how they cleaned up after the job as well. I highly recommend this crew! read more

Don't even think of using them. The plumber never called me w/ the estimate, said he told my son. When he did call me to be paid and I objected to his very high price, he said he would get back to me. He never did, but somehow they got the condo assoc. to take the money out of our account. I just spoke to the owner and he basically said he has an arrangement with the condo and if there is a leak in another unit (above us) they call his company. The plumber did change a cartridge in the handle of the shower, so they probably give the condo a kick back . He was a real smart ass on the phone to top it off. read more

I have used SLS Plumbing two time now-actually my condo building uses Scott at SLS as he (owner) comes continually on time-is extremely knowledgable and his employees are as well. I had to call recently as I had a small gas leak due to improper installation of a cooktop, and he directed me in the safe steps to do before he could get there to provide service. He is detail oriented, and came right over. As the problem was being repaired, he told me of a $25.00 coupon he had on his website and that he would give that to me that day. He came to fix my issue and did it remarkably fast -I was very impressed....... I also have called him a time or two asking about plumbing concerns and he has taken about 10-15 minutes explaining why I have that problem and what I can do to resolve it-one time he just talked me thru the process on the phone-eliminating a service call that day altogether....... I had an issue with a bathroom shower head. SLS came out and assessed the issue. They explained what I needed and that they would order the part. Within 3 days I received a call that the part was in and I could schedule and appointment. Joe and Anthony were right on time and completed the job. I called in the morning and the customer service was outstanding. They sent a technician out at 230 PM that same day. The technician was actually the owner of the company. He showed up exactly on time and wore boot covers in the house as to not dirty the floors. The technician/owner, Scott was very professional. He had to crawl under the house, kitchen cabinets, and into a small area of the laundry room. Even though this was a crappy job, he fixed the issue, no problem. Scott went out of his way to clean up the areas he worked in. I think it was actually cleaner than when he came in! His price was good and there were no hidden fees or extras added to the bill. In addition, Scott did not try to up sell me on anything, and actually gave me some tips to avoid having to pay him to come back out. I would recommend SLS Plumbing to anyone who needs a plumber. They do HVAC and other services as well. When it comes time for my heat and AC to be replaced they will be my first call. Thanks to Scott & his team at SLS Plumbing, for coming to our rescue at 6pm on a Saturday night. We called in a panic when water was dripping from a light fixture. Mike showed up within 20 twenty minutes of calling. He was very responsive and took his time assessing the situation. The problem was fixed that night. We really appreciated the 24hr emergency services, and were impressed with the job they did. He was also very neat and wore shoe covers in the house. I had a plumbing emergency! Water backing up into my house while using the shower and the washing machine. What a scary mess! The advertisment I found in my Yellow Book said "help in 1 hour...". I was in a panic. I had tried to contact other people in the phonebook under the "A" section. I also tried some of the big guys. No one could get to me quickly or at all. I was waiting for a call back and nothing...tick, tick, tick. I then saw the S.L.S. guys. I called and they happend to be right in the area. LUCKY ME! Scott (the owner) was so professional and kind I could not believe it! He also had a partner with him who was so friendly and knowledgeable I will always call them. During their visit My friend happened to stop at my home during the repair. He was very impressed with the problem solving and the professional, friendly maner of both of these men. I can not express how great it was to resolve my problem quickly and during the process understanding what the plan was. His crew was polite and professional, they did an outstanding job removing the old and installing the new pipe. I feel that his price was competitive and the work was completed in a timely manner. I've called SLS Plumbing multiple times and have always found Scott and his team to be dependable, skilled and honest. When I experienced my most recent plumbing problems of slow drains and a dead ejector pump I didn't hesitate to call SLS again. The team started working and one repair led to another which led to suspicion of a blockage in the sewer line, very likely a tree root. Scott is familiar with Lombard and said that it was time to get the village involved. He explained that there was a good chance that the blockage was on village property and that Lombard has a program where they would handle the rest of the repair (the actual sewer blockage) if it was. To my luck it was and SLS handed off the repair to the village's hands. (But not before they cleaned their work area and left it better then they found it.) Scott even called back the next day to check on how everything went with the rest of the repair. I highly recommend SLS! read more
