The problem is: the pizza, when made correctly, is excellent. The service and execution is just nonexistent. I order the Nonna's pizza every time, and like a bad ex, every time I go back to it- it is BAD. The most recent order is what primed this review: I orders 3 pizzas (received 2) and I called to inquire why I was missing a pie. The guy on the phone assured me I only paid for two (never got a receipt). So, moving onto my second issue: the state of my Nonna's pizza. As I stated above, I usually get the Nonna's pizza with less spinach and extra whipped ricotta (never well executed). The pizza I received is wet with spinach and has 6 sad dollops of whipped ricotta and so I expressed my displeasure at my soggy pie. His response? "Sorry, sir...." I was not expecting a free pizza or a redelivery (God forbid in 2025) however, a little customer service would be nice. Used to be one of my favorite spots in Longmont, I suppose it'd been a while since I'd ordered, but they've recently changed their crust (from that semi-braided yeasty thing they used to do) and our pizza was on the burnt side. I suppose some people might like the new crust more, but most of the appeal for me was that crust. Also, the cost, which totaled out to 31 bucks for a pizza and knots isn't really commensurate to the quality or amount of basal ingredients. The cheese was... sparse, real sparse. Once and done. We will never buy from here again. They told us 20 minutes, it took just over 40 minutes. The fellow on the phone couldn't understand what I said to him, after telling him what I wanted three times he finally repeated back to me the wrong thing, but eventually got what I ordered. I paid for my order and waited for the food in the car. We ordered two very large pies, one a triple pepperoni. I have to be honest and say "decent" was unfair. The pizza is great, and sourdough crust is now the only way I want my pizza. I also have to say the Slice app kind of sucks for delivery. Ordered a large gluten free pepperoni and sausage pizza here during the Super Bowl for my mother. I had never heard of the delivery service but it was easy to sign up. The wait was roughly 45 mins during half time of Super Bowl Sunday. It showed up quicker!! You got notified by the service every step of the way. As for the pizza I tend to stay away from gluten free items but got it for my mom. (See photo) but it's the best looking gluten free pizza I've ever seen. Mom claimed it was the best by miles she had ever had. Tonight we were finishing up leftovers and I reheated the gluten free pizza in the oven. Not only was it the best gluten free pizza I've ever had or gluten free anything, but it is one the best overall pizzas I have had in quite some time. Props to Smack Daddy's! read more

Summary version - It used to be great and it has gone seriously downhill. Our last two orders were absolute disasters that included multiple rounds of inedible pizza, false advertising, being accused of theft, being literally and repeatedly yelled at by the manager on the phone, hung up on and lied to. Absolutely insanity. We will never be back. Longer version - We received great pizzas from them for the first year or so. We ordered probably two dozen times with no issues and great pizzas. Then we had an incident where we received a pizza where the green peppers were so burned the pizza was inedible. After an hour and a half (they promised a new one in 45 minutes) they brought a second one in exactly the same, inedible condition as the first. The manager I called told me it was impossible to cook a pizza with green peppers on it without burning it. Huge facepalm - it is of course possible! In addition, the manager (not the owner) I spoke with was rude, yelled at me, told me I was wasting her time and accused me of trying to steal pizza. I offered to return the burned ones, send pictures, etc. Ultimately I had them bring a plain cheese which we received nearly three hours after the initial order. The third pizza literally had not visible sauce on it whatsoever. We ended up not eating it and just gave up. I spoke with the owner in person the next day and brought the third, uneaten, no sauce pizza in. I told the manager I wasn't looking for anything but just trying to help a fellow small business owner out. Maybe she didn't realize what was happening in the store when she wasn't there. She agreed it didn't look right and offered us a free pizza as compensation and said she hoped we would not give up on them. She said they had changed their sauce recently and perhaps that was part of the issue. The replacement pizza was decent, but not great so we decided to just move on to other stores. Tonight, my wife really wanted a brownie with the pizza. They do have great brownies! We ordered an "extra-large" 16" pizza and received one that was 15" in diameter. I know because it looked small and I measured it. I called the store and was first told it was 16" because the female manager I spoke to made it. I offered to send a picture of the pizza with the tape measure on it. At this point I figured it was just a mistake and we easily could work something out. The manager then said that their 16" pizzas range from 15" to 16" in size and since the size of this pizza was between the 14" "large" pizza and the 16" extra-large that there was nothing they could do. Keep in mind that the difference between 15" and 16" is 13.5%. It is like they brought a 16" pizza with a slice missing. Not the end of the world, but something they should make right. I said was unsatisfied and I expected to receive the 16" pizza I paid for. She asked what happened if they bring a new one and it is also less than 16". I told them they could bring a small if they wanted - I just wanted to make up the difference in size. She said she would and abruptly hung up on me. Ninety minutes later no pizza had arrived so I called back. The manager said that she spoke with the driver and they decided not to send the replacement after all. She said they weigh the dough to certain weight and the size is what it is. We argued back and forth with the manager again literally yelling at me. She then said they had a record of me "causing problems" with other employees (presumably the green pepper pizza issue) and that if I did not want to be a customer of theirs she was fine with that and hung up on me (again). I called back and was put on hold indefinitely. I called back from another number and said I wanted a refund. She refused to do so and refused to do anything to make the situation right. She again aggressively told me that a pizza that measures 15" is really a 16" pizza because they weigh the dough. She then proceeded to get even more aggressive and louder and asked if I thought they should change all their advertising, menus and the picture of a 16" pizza on the wall to satisfy me. I told her we were done and asked her to have the owner call me. We will not return and I have filed a complaint for false advertising. My mind is blown that something that could have been easily solved turned in me being accused of thief, being lied to, yelled at, etc. Crazy, crazy. read more

Wow. This was amazing. I had gluten free pizza in New York City a few years ago that was as good as this but this was so good. Another reviewer wrote that he was mad that he had been given a regular crust pizza. I Ate the first piece and was dreading what was coming because I too assumed this has to be regular crust. It looked different than my wife's regular crust but she actualization said the gf is more soft and fluffy than her regular crust pizza she had (I made her take a bite of mine because it was so good). I had told her that night I just want to order a good pizza and enjoy it. Glad I did. I went with the large GrandDaddy and swapped out the mushrooms for jalapeños. (I made a note in the comments section of my order to do this). It is spendy at $24. But it was so good to have great pizza again. The sauce is great. Generous toppings. Half was more than I needed to eat but I did eat half because I wanted to and was enjoying it . I gave a piece to my gf daughter the next day and she devoured it. I've bought pizza from here a few times. The last time I will ever order from here again was an order of garlic knots, an extra-large granddaddy pizza, and a large med salad. It arrived to me freezing cold, I had called the store the very next day and a very nice guy had answered my phone call and had told me that I could come in and have the order remade for the inconvenience it caused me. I went in about 2.5 weeks later and spoke to another man, who was pretty rude from the moment I started speaking with him. I showed him the past orders receipt and explained my dilemma, he told me that the pizza being cold wasn't his problem and that he wouldn't grant me what the other employee had offered me. don't usually leave reviews but this needs saying. loved this place but now I'm not so sure. I ordered a "create my own" gluten free pie Saturday night and the owner(?) Josh, asked me what I wanted on it. So I mentioned all the toppings I DID want and never ONCE said anything about cheese. My pizza ended up coming with cheese, which I'm allergic too, and was therefore inedible. I called to see if they'd rectify their mistake. Josh told me that "all pizzas come with cheese, if you had wanted no cheese or vegan cheese you should have so. Nothing I can do". And was unwilling to assist in correcting the mistake. My point was that if I had wanted cheese of any kind on my CREATE MY OWN pie I would have specified that in the ordering of it. Josh, please listen to your customers when they order pizza next time. I was/am pissed off and unhappy that you wouldn't correct a $40 dollar mistake. read more

I asked for extra cheese and while it's sometimes hard to decide if other places had actually given me extra cheese, this pizza was definitely with extra cheese. Prices were reasonable and competitive. I had no idea where the restaurant was or what their pizza was like but I trusted other Yelp reviews and went for it. Came here for a quick lunch on a weekend - very small (2 tables) but friendly and food came quickly (and freshly made). We had garlic knots and split a small pizza with a soda as I wasn't super hungry. Pizza was great, hot and not too much or too little cheese. The garlic knots were cute to watch being made and were crispy outside and squishy (the good kind) inside. Ugh! Love! I am from Chicago and this is the closest I have found to my favorite pizza place back home. Staff is super friendly and they even know who I am at this point.
