This is a dream come true for this Italian food lover!! Excellent food, service, and nice ambiance. I came here with a group of 24 people FOR LUNCH and we were greeted warmly and each of us were treated like VIP's. Starting with the in-house made bread that was FRESH and crusty but soft inside. The bread was served with olive oil and was a a great way to kick off the meal. The menu has so many choices it's hard to choose what to try. I decided to start with the ZUPPA CAPRESE soup- $8 Roasted garlic, tomato and basil with melted mozzarella crostini. Mmm mmm good! EXCELLENT layering of fresh flavors. Next I got the lunch antipasti - appetizer with steak and fire roasted peppers and eggplant. The complexity of flavors was absolutely incredible. There was enough food to make a nice meal. I didn't need anything else! Alas, the linguine putanesca - Linguine, olives, capers, garlic, tomato basil sauce called my name and I could not say no. I added some grilled chicken for protein. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The sauce was so flavorful! My only complaints are that I probably had one or 2 olives total, once you add up the little pieces. Also, that chicken I added? $6 for 6 tiny little partial chicken strips. Overall, given the great flavor and excellent service, this is my new favorite Italian restaurant! The staff couldn't get their crap together tonight, we ended up walking off the patio without ordering... After waiting for 20 minutes. The party next to us had already been waiting for another 10, to get their tab settled. We felt ignored. I'm not sure if we'll be back, it's sad, I love this place. I love the food. I love the setting, but as of last night, the service has really gone downhill. Came back to celebrate another birthday and ordered what I thought would be a signature dish. Papardelle with Bolognese sauce. Noodles were fine, but sauce was a dead ringer for Chef Boyardee--the canned kind of spaghetti-0 sauce. I didn't eat it. Another bust and another $200 meal wasted. Even the calamari was undercooked and too chewy and the mussels were tasty but TINY! Best thing on the menu is the gelato. Really good. But prolly won't return. Went there for happy hour. Ordered the Avocado Bruschetta, the tuna and the calamari. Comes with some bread and olive oil for dipping. The bruschetta and the tuna were really good. The only reason not to give another star was the rubbery calamari. Happy hour is a good deal. The server was attentive and good. The atmosphere is modern. Went there for a birthday celebration. First time there, would like to go try other things late looked better than what we had. BISTECCA - 4 stars : really good, enjoyed this a lot but the meat was well we ordered med rare POLPETTE - 3 stars : good but only two meatballs, pretty pricy for 2 meat balls CALAMARI FRITTO - 2 stars : good portion, nice batter but WAY too greasy - the grease kills the flavor. CARCIOFI - 0 starts : tiny, overcooked by 2x, there was pretty much nothing the eat, literally BURRATA - 5 stars : simple and standard as anyone would expect, nicely done RAVIOLI FUNGHI - 3 stars : ravioli itself was nice after I scraped the sauce off... the sauce is far too rich/butter heavy and overpowers the delicate flavors of the mushrooms, especially since there is not a ton of mushroom in the ravs itself. This could be a 5 star dish with the properly very-delicate sauce. CANNELLONI - 5 stars : fantastic flavor! the only thing we had that was 100% properly executed. This basically has the same heavy sauce of the Ravioli Funghi but the filling breaks through the heavy sauce so you can taste it, unlike the Fungi which is too delicate. The place itself is a single large, loud, room since there is really no sound absorbers or anything... big loud 'family style' restaurant... not a place you go to have a quiet, private, or intimate meal. Went there with Seaver colleagues and we each had something a bit different - and they all were delicious! Our waitress was very helpful on the menu and drink selections, helping us decide what to order and checking back in several times to make sure everything was enjoyable. I came here for a meal on a work trip, Google has this with 4.4 stars vs Yelp so figured I would give it a shot. Got seated right away on a Monday with happy hour all evening. Ordered the meatballs (polpette) and they came out almost instantly. So I wonder if the happy hour items are semi ready to go. These were fairly good, but definitely not piping hot and not super moist. The highlight of my dinner, however. Then I ordered the gnocchi as I saw they are made fresh daily with the pesto cream sauce which is usually a go to when in doubt. The gnocchi was very overcooked to the point I could have been eating shaped mashed potatoes. The creamy pesto was lacking flavor/salt. My table also didn't have parmesan at hand so I ate about 12 gnocchi before calling it. I wound up dipping the bread in the sauce which added texture and salt, and that was better than the dish as it was. Server was fairly attentive and kind. All in all, an OK experience. Better menu options may exist and I just did not order them. Nice place otherwise with open kitchen and bar area. read more

I don't get the negative reviews. My husband and I love this place! We are regulars, both for happy hour menu and regular. On happy hour, we've had the margherita pizza with added mushrooms, the seared tuna, the polpette meatballs. For dinner I've had the trout, and some pasta dishes. All great. Ray was literal sunshine as soon as we walked in and was constantly attentive while also giving us space. Full bar perfect for a solo dinner or make sure to sit near the open kitchen to watch some magic happen. The decor and ambiance leaves a bit to be desired, but the food makes up for it. The pesto sauce all over my gnocchi was unique, the fresh herbs shone, I wanted to lap it up with a spoon! It was tough to stay ladylike. The tiramisu was rich yet light and not too sweet, perfect flavor. The pistachio ice cream is the best kept secret! Made fresh weekly by hand by an actual nonna! It's nutty, salty, it's sweet and creamy, it's almost a gorgeous custard. This actually tastes like fresh, salted, roasted pistachios and mascarpone had an ice cream wonder child. It has a consistency and flavor that reminds me of the historic ice cream in souk Hamidiyeh, Damascus, Syria that makes ice cream the same way since Jesus was there. So nostalgic! Ordered my food on line. 2 min before arriving I received a text from the restaurant that my order was voided. Arrived at restaurant, and was told they only served the Valentines meal. That was the reason for the voided action. I drove from Boulder to pickup my order. Which takes about 25 min commute time. Valentine's Day was a disappointment in the fact that they overbooked and our reservation was 45 minutes late that I booked on the 20th of January. I waited at the bar to be called and when I went up and checked they said we already called you and I was sitting there the whole time. Quite disappointing. The service was good at all. Raymond was not attentive, rude and even called me a liar. The meatball appetizer came out to the table and they were hard to even cut. Once we cut into them they had black circles which they were not fresh at all. The second dish of meatball were not much better. Our entree came out wrong and Raymond called us a liar three different times. The manager came over and really did not do anything for us. We used to have dinner here twice a month. Went on a Thursday at 5:30 it was completely packed but we were able to get bar seating. The food was overall pretty good but the crust didn't taste homemade. The margarita pizza was good and I would get that again. The Caesar salad pizza was good but I thought that the chicken was over cooked even though the charred flavor was good. We tried it for the first time on Tuesday. We had our dog with us and sat outside on the patio. Our server, Logan was top notch in every way. He even brought some cold water for our dog. The focaccia and dipping oil were wonderful. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and my husband ordered the trout. Both were wonderful! The eggplant was as light as a feather, the sauce was silky and there was lots of melted cheese. Pure heaven. My husband's trout was beautifully presented with roasted potatoes and broccolini. Portions were generous. When Logan asked if he could get us anything else, I jokingly said "a hot dog for our pup". He came back with a treat from the chef. Love this place. It saddens me that I'm writing this review as this restaurant used to be one of my favorites in Longmont. The last 3 times I've been, the service was horrible. Had lunch with a friend and waited on our server for at least 15 minutes. My husband and I went in around lunchtime, sat at the bar and waited ten minutes for someone to greet us while the wait staff was standing 10 feet from us. We walked out and haven't been back. Our waitress Maria explained the menu well and was very attentive and nice. We ordered the Tortellini and Chicken risotto to share between the 2 of us. We had a wonderful dinner again. Great service and good food. We have been going here for YEARS, because it is so good. I do however...want to say something about the Veal Parm. I had a very large portion of meat. A small pc on top of two larger pcs. It was so much, that I brought it home! I ate the smaller pc there, it was veal and melt in your mouth delicious. The meat underneath was so NOT veal. It was tougher and stringy, it reminded me of pork and I'm quite sure it was. Got the Fettuchini Putanesca -- Worst ever, thin watery tasteless canned tomato sauce you could see the dish under the sauce, some capers thrown in, some sliced canned black olives, overcooked pasta........Completely tasteless and it was $16.....Just horrid!! I didn't send back since I was with friends and didn't want to make a scene, but it was TASTELESS. I will call the restaurant to complain!! We were very excited to eat here after reading reviews. we're not local, but enjoy good Italian cuisine. The bread with herbed dipping oil was some of the best we've had in any restaurant. The fried stuffed squash blossoms were tasty, although the batter was a little heavy. My husbands veal parm was good, nice and thin, not tough. The deal breaker for me was the butternut squash ravioli described in a sage butter sauce. The pasta was well cooked. The filling had no seasoning and lacked flavor. The "sage butter" looked like pasta water poured over the ravioli. No flavor and most definitely not a butter sauce. I couldn't eat it. I was really looking forward to the ravioli, -but this was just awful. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She did offer something else but I was fine. It was my choice. We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered she'd taken my entree off the bill. Of course the tip we left was based on the price including my entree. She didn't cook it, not her fault at all. Was hard to get a group reservation for Valentine's day for our party of 5. Located in a strip mall like complex - there is plenty of parking (maybe that isn't a big deal for Colorado!) For Valentine's Day they had a set prix fixe menu of appetizer, entree and dessert. I had the polenta, new york steak and a slice of tiramisu for my selections. They offered a pretty decent selection of options for everything - all meat groups as well as GF and vegetarian options. Decent wine list although service was a bit slow - but it was a busy busy night so no one was standing idle. My coworker didn't want an appetizer but she was "forced" to order one that ended up just going to waste .... we were a party of work folks all meeting for the first time and it wasn't really a meal of sharing food or over abundant eating / drinking. Our family has been coming to Caprese consistently over the last few years. It's a solid, dependable good Italian experience. Service is typically good. The kids love their pastas. I enjoy the chicken and veal dishes. My wife swears their Torta Cioccolato is the best dessert in town. I just wish they had a good steak. Stopped by here for dinner on our way to Boulder. The food and service was amazing but the atmosphere was a bit off. FOOD: Spaghetti Corsara ($21) - Really good portion of shrimp, scallops, and salmon. Most of the pieces of salmon were undercooked however. Sauce was fantastic and went well with the seafood. The complimentary bread was incredibly soft and flaky. My friend had gnocchi which was great as well. I believe the gnocchi is made in-house and it was one of the best I've had. SERVER: Victoria was very attentive and friendly! VIBE: It was extremely packed and can get pretty hectic with all the staff trying to maneuver around the tables.
