We were so happy we ended up finding Small Bus Tours NYC and went with that instead of the big bus tours, which I'd heard lots of mixed reviews about. We did the 5.5 hours day tour. My sister and I (in our thirties) were visiting NYC with our 68 year old mum who has mobility issues. It was her first time to the city so we wanted an easy and enjoyable way to see most of the city without having to walk or wait in the sun all day. This far exceeded our expectations. Briant was incredibly entertaining and personable, sharing all kinds of unique information we wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. I had read from reviews online that a lot of the big busses have switched to audio tours and don't have air conditioning - this bus was nice and air conditioned with comfy seats, free wifi, free water, and free charging stations for our phones which was super useful! We got to get out and take pictures of all the key sites - and Briant (our tour guide) even at one point lay on the ground to get the best group photo of one of the buildings. You really can't ask for better service than that!!! We got more than our money's worth!! Also we only had 11 people on our tour which made it a great, authentic and personalized experience. We saw all of the key sites we wanted to see, and the history and background info Briant and Guy (our driver) provided on each was riveting. Guy and Briant are clearly extremely passionate about their city, and the two of them are like a comedy duo which is so fun and entertaining! Briant also went out of his way to make sure we had the best views on the ferry to Staten Island. There are so many personal touches on this tour which make it super unique and special. I'm originally from Cuba and had only seen NYC in the movies. I went with my girlfriend and my mother, who is in her late 60's and speaks limited English. We only had a couple of days to see NYC and my concern was that I needed to accommodate my mom and although she can walk fine, I did not want her to overdue it. Guy was an excellent driver and Farai an amazing owner and tour guide. The bus was very comfortable and they had complimentary water and a place for us to charge our phones. We booked the all day tour so we could see all points of interest and get to know the city. Guy, an amazing driver, picked us up at our hotel. As Farai explained the history to me, I was able to translate to my mother so she could gain knowledge too. He was very courteous and patient helping her get off and on the bus, holding doors open for us and crossing us on the street. He kept the tour at her pace and never made us feel rushed. Farai knew the perfect places to take photos and had so much knowledge, not only about the history, but also, where to shop, where to get good deals, where to eat, the complete layout, he really knows this city. As a first generation immigrant to the United States, seeing what a hard worker and great host and business owner Farai is, showed me what is possible for an immigrant and has given me renewed strength and knowledge to continue to follow my dreams and that with hard work and a positive attitude, anything is possible! read more

We had never been to NYC so we choose to take the 8 hour tour that Small Bus Tours NYC offered. We had looked at some of the other "hop on hop off" bus companies and are VERY happy we did not choose any of them! My mother has difficulty walking distances so the tour company picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off there after the tour. Before our tour began they wanted to know where we had visited already and what our sights we wanted to make sure we saw the day of our tour. They catered the tour to fit our needs. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided information, including the history, of the locations we visited and in general about NYC. He accompanied us every time we exited the bus. It was very nice to have our own tour guide. We were offered bottled water all day and you were allowed to eat on the bus too. I had emailed a number of times before our visit and they always responded quickly. Our tour guide and driver were friendly, knowledgeable, and competant. Martin and Guy paired well to give us an awesome tour of New York City! They were knowledgeable and catered well to our group. Their knowledge of the city's history made it come alive for our family. I spent time in NYC long ago but it was great to see it through my husband's and son's eyes for the first time. The 9/11 memorial was very emotional for me and Martin respected the need for an extra few minutes there. We lucked upon a group of bagpipers in Grand Central Terminal that were awesome. Small Bus Tours is top notch and I highly recommend. You do have the chance to get off and see many of the most popular spots (we got almost 11,000 steps in that day!!) with the guarantee that your bus is still there and waiting for you with plenty of water. His knowledge of the NYC sites and added sense of humor is exceptional! Tour van driver, nerves of steel Guy, got us to all the visiting sites of the tour safely. Guy is a true New Yorker with his deep New Yorker accent and "Forget about it" phrases. My wife has mobility issues and traveled with a portable wheelchair. Bryant and Guy treated her like a Queen by helping her in and out of the van, lifting the wheelchair in and out of the van too, and whatever her needs were, they took care of it like family would do! We took the 6 hour tour and you will see a lot of NYC landmarks and sites, which would be hard to do on your own with a short visiting timetable. This tour was the best part of our 32nd wedding anniversary trip to NYC and we brought home a piece of the Big Apple in our hearts! read more

While in NYC a few weeks ago, we took the 8 hour tour of New York with Guy and Farai from Small Bus Tours. Initially, I was hesitant to book this tour because the reviews seemed almost too good to be true. But the reviews are on point, and the tour was fantastic. John was kind enough to pick us up in Jersey City and deliver us to the pick-up point in New York. At each stop, Farai, our guide, made the short walks with the group, giving us a lot of history and helpful information along the way. Our driver, Guy, knew the best places to park and we never had to wait for the bus as we returned from our walks. This was our first time in New York and it was a perfect tour for us; we saw everything we wanted to see. The price was very reasonable for what we got. Can't give this tour enough stars. First, small bus tours was a lot more interactive than the big double-decker busses you see driving around. And we got to stop several times to actually get out and walk around some of the sites. Our tour guide, Bryant, was absolutely amazing. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but had a wonderful sense of humor. In fact, he is HILARIOUS. He definitely makes the tour more personable and entertainment. I hope he does make it big in stand up comedy, and not just "sit-down" comedy someday. I'll be the first to buy a ticket to a big a show no matter the cost. The driver, Guy, had a few lines along with Bryant, that also made it enjoyable. Keep up the good work! This bus tour was THE BEST! Guy, Farai and Bryant made us feel like family visiting from out of town and took incredible care of the four of us (me, my husband and our two children (ages 9 and 12)) from the very moment we booked the tour. Farai checked in with me by phone before we even left for our trip and then checked in with me once we arrived in town. He also picked us up from the hotel the morning of our tour. Guy and Bryant were our WONDERFUL tour guides. They took special interest in each person in our group and cared very much about what we were hoping to get out of the tour. Being a tour guide myself I have to give credit where credit is due... This tour was extremely fun and educational.. Being a small group really does make it a comfy and more personal type of tour.. the guides and driver are great. Bryant , Frank and GUY , who is one hell of a character. All native New Yorkers. You get to see all the main spots of New York, with bathroom breaks and a lunch break. The Staten Island ferry is a nice touch. You get to do something an actual New Yorker does themselves on a daily basis.. I chosed to take the double tour. our family of 4 went on the tour on Tuesday Aug 6th 2024. From the moment Guy met us the fun started. Along comes Bryant (Brian with a T) and his extensive knowledge of NYC and he had jokes too. We learned and saw so much by taking this tour that we never would have otherwise. The traffic is insane so we are glad we weren't driving through it. our advice to all is pay for parking as there is litterally a parking garage around the corner from where the tour meets (it's worth the $). Frankie and the driver (forgot his name) were very enthusiastic and entertaining but at the same time super knowledgeable and well informed on their city. Made our trip to NYC from California worth it. Frankie was very patient and kind. My grandma had to use the restroom at one of the stops & she ended up getting lost on the way back. Frankie helped me find my grandma and although everyone else was on the bus waiting for the next stop he remained patient with us. Also, another family left our tour group and got lost and he did everything he could to find them and eventually did. 5 starts well deserved. read more

He was very engaging and fun. He was most adapt in keeping our party of 13 together on the crowded ferry. A thoroughly enjoyable day with Martin as our tour guide & Winston the driver. The day went so quickly while we visited/walked loads of different places. Winston was a star keeping the coach warm each time we left to visit sights, it was -9°!!
