This place makes a great breakfast and lunch. Cash only, and a nice cozy atmosphere. They make a great chicken noodle soup!

My sister and I ordered food, before anyone else came into the restaurant. My latte came in a soup bowl. I could barely pick it up. We ordered the pancakes and eggs. My entire plate was meat and I had two very small eggs. The bread was very stale and hard. It also took over 45 minutes to come out. Save your money. There are much better restaurants around here.

They have several tables in the front and additional seating in the back. Our waiter was very kind and accommodating. To drink, I had a mocktail. I was worried it would be too sweet because it included sprite and cranberry juice, but it was actually very pleasant and bursting with flavor. For my main, I had the frittata. It was tasty. Some of the broccoli rabe was a little tough to chew, but not too bad. It was topped with a generous portion of cheese. I loved the tender mushrooms. My husband got the cozze. The portion of mussels was large and he enjoyed the sauce. We also shared the cinnamon french toast, which was delicious. It didn't even need syrup as it was perfectly sweet with the cream and berries on top. Even so, they had several syrups to choose from including amber and maple. Looking forward to coming back to try the dinner menu.

The amazing white pie is nothing like we have back West, the friendly vibe, fast service and a classic pizza shop everyone should try. RIP SAL and thanks for your tasty legacy!

Tough to review just a quick stop by the slice. I heard Sal's outdoes everyone else in this part of…read moreWestchester, so I accompanied my pizza fiend - oops, friend - down to Mamaroneck to check them out. And this is a place worth checking out. Old-school vibe inside, not at all like the new-wave joints around. You can tell Sal's has been here for generations, which means they do it right. You walk in, there's a pizza counter to the left, a few tables to the right, some more in the back... and a hidden whole other room! So there will be room for you to enjoy your meal. This review is divided for now. My friend got cheese slices. They're big, thin, covered just right in cheese - win. Crust just the right toasty to hold the slice up. Classic NY pizza we got here - everyone in Fairfield County should visit. I peeked over at the other table and they had Sicilian slices that also look legit, if that's your thing. Plenty of cheese, soft crust, all that. Then there's my side. I had looked at the BBQ place next door and decided "nah, too contrived", so when I discovered the neat-looking slices on their platter were BBQ chicken, I went for them. Well, they actually didn't come out that hot. The thickness of the meat probably got in the way. Then there's the fact they were white slices (since BBQ sauce gets in the way of tomato sauce), but not hepped up with ricotta or other white cheese inside. I'd make those suggestions for improvement. There are also some other bizarre slices on offer - they're not afraid of variety! I'd steer clear of the salad pizza though. So based on just the one visit and everything I saw and tasted - 4 stars. I would want to get a whole pie next time for a fresh-baked experience, see how quickly that goes and if it's done just right. I doubt my review will drop, but it could rise up to 5. To be continued... ... So, I came back a second time with my friend. This time, I wasn't even feeling the pizza vibe, so I went with a meatball... wedge. Which is a sub if you're not from the area. Don't be scared by the name. It was tasty, but as I expected, just meatball, cheese, and some sauce. Actually a better balance of sauce to cheese than the pizzas, I thought. I was a little perturbed that our visiting friend's white slice is just pure ricotta, no white sauce below, no mozz on top. From my second experience, I'm keeping it at 4 stars.

Sage is my go to deli when I'm in Mamaroneck…read more I like their wedges. And I like the York peppermint patty they add to the bag. I tend to order the Veggie Weggie. It's a wedge with cheese (I order provolone), artichokes, roasted peppers and lettuce, tomato & onion. I'm not a vegetarian, but I really like this sandwich. Beyond that, I mostly get meatball wedges or turkey. Someday I need to ask if they can make a Balboa.

I should have just gone to the place in our area that we know but I happened to see this deli when I was stopped at the light out front Theres 15 minute parking our front so I quickly found a spot and went in. They look led pretty clean. The salads in the case did not look that fresh but I don't ever get stuff like that unless I know there's a good turnaround. The guy who took my odder was nice. Initially, I ordered a hot Italian for my son. I saw it on one of the pic from the deli's Yelp page. I should have paid attention to when the picture was posted. The guy said that he could toast the bread but would have to microwave the cold cuts. That was a hard pass and that should have been my first inkling to get out of there. I just told him no to the microwave but yes, toast the hero bread. I also asked for him to put out chipotle mayo on the sandwich. Hubby's sandwich was simple: honey turkey, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and regular mayo on a hero. Not hot. I came straight home and both of my guys ate their sandos. I wasn't feeling a sandwich so I did not order anything. Thank goodness. Fast-forward to last night. Hubby was sick all night until the following day (today). We think it might have been the mayonnaise or the lettuce, which would make sense because my son was fine. He had not lettuce on his sandwich and had a different mayo. It definitely could not have been anything else that he ate because he did not eat anything else that day that was out of the ordinary. I was not sure about ordering food from this deli and I should have listened to my gut but because I saw a good amount of people come in and I odder food, I figured that they might have improved. Never again. If the deli see this review, please check your fridge temps, expiration dates and produce for contamination.
