She asked clarifying questions to ensure my cake was how I wanted it to be! I ordered a heart shaped funfetti cake with cannoli filling. It was DELICIOUS!! Super moist cake (unlike the dry ones from the generic supermarket) and it was sooo beautiful. I've always wanted a cake like this for my birthday and what better way to get what you want than ordering it yourself! A coworker recently asked me to bring back some cookies since she knew I was flying home to New York. When she said she wanted good quality cookies, I already knew exactly where I was headed: Alpine. Every time I walk into this place it somehow feels like the first time. Maybe it's the nostalgia from going there with my family for so many years, or maybe it's because it's still family-owned and truly has that warm, welcoming vibe. The people who work there are always so sweet, accommodating, and kind, which just adds to the experience. When anyone brings up rainbow cookies, Alpine is honestly the first place that comes to mind for me. They're the only ones I really go to for them. For my coworker, I picked up a pound of assorted cookies so she could try a little bit of everything. Selfishly, I was definitely thinking I should've ordered a box for myself too! She absolutely loved them, which came as no surprise. If you want truly great Italian cookies and pastries, Alpine Pastry Shoppe is the only place that comes to mind for me. The negative reviews are kind of funny because of what people are complaining about. One guy went here to get coffee? No, this is not the place to get coffee, walk in the door and see that, it's not what they do. I don't think they even have an espresso machine here. I do have to admit that Park Bake shop does do breads and bagels but they are not very good. I tried once or twice because they looked good but the taste just isn't there. But what they do well is cookies, cakes, and pastries. Pretty much anything in the cases are excellent. All the cookies are awesome, always fresh, and all reasonably priced. I love Park Bake shop and will continue to come here often!
