We stopped in on the 4th of July for their amazing shakes. While we were there, one of the owners took the time to talk with my husband after learning why we were in town. Then today, July 5th, my husband and our two boys went back for lunch. One of the owners sat down and spent time talking with my son, who struggles with a disability. In all our years, very few people have taken the time to truly sit down, listen, and encourage him the way he did. This owner shared some of his own struggles and told my sweet boy, "Keep fighting. God has you." Those words meant more than he will ever know. Kindness like that is rare, and it made a lasting impact on our family. If you're ever in Gonzales, please stop by and show them the same love and support they showed my son. We are beyond grateful for the compassion, encouragement, and genuine kindness they gave our family.

The counter service is fast and friendly, the menu is vast, with a LOT of variety - sandwiches, po-boys, comfort food, seafood, salads, pizza - something for everyone. And the food is good. The fried fish was good - nicely breaded, mild catfish (no muddy taste), and good crispy fries. The shrimp remoulade salad is kind of puzzling, though. Small, unseasoned boiled shrimp on a pile of lettuce. After being boiled with no seasoning, the shrimp are then heavily coated with red pepper (or maybe Cajun seasoning). And the remoulade sauce is in small condiment cups on the side - barely enough to dress the salad. But most of the food here is pretty good (the burgers are massive), and most plates come with enough for some extra to take home. She repeatedly told me to "calm down"--even though I was speaking normally and politely--and then abruptly hung up on me. Instead of helping, she refused to process the refund and vaguely suggested I could "come in and get a sandwich," completely ignoring the fact that I had already purchased food elsewhere. This wasn't the first bad experience. Two weeks ago, I arrived at 8:30 PM (they close at 9), but the workers told me they were done for the night and wouldn't let me order. So now, I've tried to get food from this location twice and still haven't received anything--just a wasted trip and frustration both times. Between the lack of customer service, rude management, and overall incompetence, I won't be returning to this location. If you're considering ordering here, be prepared for inconvenience and frustration. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. 1/5 stars (only because zero isn't an option)
