I'd asked my roommate to pick up a couple of containers yesterday. She checked 4 stores and they were out. I'd heard Albertson's had a good one so I called up the store in Dana Point. Much to my surprise, Richard, the manager answered the phone. What?! Usually a cashier or service associate answers. Anyway I asked him about the dip. He then asked if I wanted their in-house freshly made dip or the ready made prepared one. Wait. What!? You mean I have a choice? He said they were out of the prepared but would see what was in stock, He came back 2 minutes later and asked if I wanted the small or large containers. I was really getting happy about the way the call was going. He said he'd hold them for me under my name. These were not big ticket items but he went above and beyond what most stores would do! Anyway the items were there for me, saw some other great items too and thanked him for this stellar service. And I told him I'd post on Yelp. Yes, this guy gets it!! I'll be back.

March is definitely spring season and there were so many fresh flowers at store front. Picking up groceries was mainly the purpose of the day. From snacks to salads to basically anything you might have forgotten in your toiletry bag. Price is always right, service from all clerks and cashiers are very consistent whenever you visit any Trader Joe's in any state. What I didn't expect to see was crowds and crowds of customers at this location, and the store clerks were extra friendly. Also bought a bunch of reusable canvas bags to use on the way home and more to give away as gifts. Trader Joe's is always a must go whenever on the US Mainland.

Not sure why grocery stores can't simply change there closing time online as it seems like an easy thing to do. I live right up the street this place has always closed at 11. Came in at 10 to grab some ice cream and this Mexican man with black hair kinda short young guy starts yelling at me to get out very rude and abrupt. He could've handled the situation much better and have been a nicer person but he was a total dick. I wish people like him worked in the restaurant industry that way he can learn some humility. Very rude and terrible experience. As a loyal customer I can say i will definitely not be returning. read more

Although this is the closest grocery store to me, I avoid it because of the consistently long waits to check out. Today I was only second in line but the checker spent more than 8 minutes trying to give a refund to a customer in front of me for one small item. I only had a few minutes between meetings, so I had to leave my shopping items there. I'm reminded that it truly should be called Smart and & Finally done with Dana Point store. read more

If I could give this location minus 10 stars I would! The store is dirty and they have employed homeless people who carry their possessions around in their backpack! Do not shop here!! It's like being in a homeless encampment ! Dirty scummy horrible!! I would never step foot in this store again. If it wasn't for my husband I would not have bought anything! Awful! There was no tip box and no tip option on the card reader. I was embarrassed I didn't have any cash-but who does these days? So, I promised to write a glowing review of how special her customer service was with me. Exceptional is a modest description at best. I used to own a cafe and would recruit people like Chloe to work for me when I came across them. It felt like her own shop, which showed a sense of ownership in her interactions with customers. Finally, it started to get busy, but she never rushed me out the door. She asked if I wanted the box wrapped and what paper to use.
