I came to this store by accident because I have to use the rest room. I don't usually leave a review for a grocery store, but I think this store deserves one. Clean rest room and their sandwich is one of the best that I ever have. I ordered combo #6 and add cucumber then it's game over. Highly highly recommend. Will definitely stop by again. Sprouts sure is expensive! I think it's worth it, but it sometimes is hard to know if the food there is really better or if it's just hiked up in price a ton and so it makes it seem like it's better? They do have a great selection and the store is huge, which is awesome. My negative today was that despite going to the normal checkout, I bagged my own groceries? I had to reach across the area to get my own bag, and wasn't even done yet. Kathy, the attendant said to have a good day, and started checking out the next person, so our stuff was all inter-mixed. I'm honestly not mad, but more confused. Is that normally the process? I figure self checkout we bag our own, but then the regular line the worker would do it, right? I love this sprouts. It's clean and huge and has everything I need with all my dietary restrictions and caring about toxic ingredients in my body car hair care etc. Never had an issue with staff they have always been super nice and it's one of the nicest strip mall. Sprouts has always made the best fresh Italian sausages. They have discontinued this product and now have prepackaged sausages in their meat section. If sprouts is all about healthy and fresh you can't produce prepackaged sausages and think they are healthy or the best. Where are the chicken and hatched chilies, or the chicken with feta and spinach, or the fresh Italian, hot pepper, sausages, or sweet sausages? Come on Sprouts, you can do better. read more

Well, there are some things you just can't get anywhere else so I will probably continue to shop at Sprouts but I will never shop at the one in San Clemente again. I think they actually go out of their way to hire the surliest, laziest and dumbest personnel they can find. Why a business would do this, I don't know. Today as the next person to be checked out I thought I was going to be in for a quick and pleasant check out. As I dutifully put my purchases on the conveyor belt the cashier continued to chat with the first customer for some time about her children, the new eating places in SJC, whatever. I waited patiently, no eye rolls. When she finally got to me, I said, I put all my stuff up close to you because I didn't want my pasta (in paper wrapping) to be sitting in the puddle of whatever on the belt. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. Then when she put three big bottles of juice in glass containers along with a jar of jam and three pints of of blueberries in one bag and four bags of paper wrapped pasta in another bag, I asked if we could move one bottle to the bag with the pasta. She said in a surly manner, and I kid you not, "Well the pasta is heavy, too." Mother of God. read more

Teo, Anthony and John in the deli we're interstellar we weren't able to locate it out of my was looking for so they actually took the time to specially make me one but is there a closing down it was super friendly and a lot of fun to talk to when I went to check out Erica had to help me because being the type of customer and I naturally crash the computer but everyone here was extremely friendly the store was very clean I was quite relieved I had a much better experience this time and because of all of these people my opinion is really been refreshed as I didn't have such a good experience before but all that changed things to these four employees and many more I'm sure who are just as hard to keep this place clean and healthy! Tried a new thing from the Deli: butter cheese squares. Essentially crackers made from cheese. Addicting and on sale buy-one-get-one-free. In the process I happened by their meat department, which I make a point to do. Sure enough, there was prepared taco meat on a ridiculous sale. This stuff is trimmed from their steaks, marinated, and packaged with added vegetables. Fry it up, put it in a soft corn tortilla, and dinner is served. Last thing. Friendly customer service everywhere I stopped in the store. read more

I ordered a sandwich from the sandwich bar. I selected what items on the paper I wanted on my sandwich. Because I was getting a "specialty" sandwich I asked the employee directly if they would be able to honor the selections on the paper and she said yes. They did not honor the selections and there was no condiments on my sandwich. Pretty bummed as it was two dollars more than a standard sandwich. See pictures. I'm impressed by this Sprouts. I came in around 10am and they were very well-staffed. Not only was the store clean and organized, but they have managed to keep their prices fairly reasonable despite heavy inflation. I love their selection of organic produce! They have all the variety you would need for basic recipes and appreciate the signage for locally sourced fruits and veggies. On this particular day, most of my fave items were on sale (yippee). I hate it when reviews begin with "this is the worst whatever" because even bad experiences are seldom truly the worst. However,... This is the worst sprouts I've ever been in. My cherries rang up at $5.99 a pound instead of the posted price which I thought was $2 less. I asked the cashier to check the price, she confirmed it was $5.99 per pound, so I didn't take the cherries. My baby boule loaf of bread rang up at $2.49 when it should've been the posted price of $1.99. That one I was certain about. At the car I checked the receipt and realised I'd been overcharged, so I returned to the store. The cashier remembered me, and remembered I'd asked her to check the price of the cherries. She had to call the manager to deal with the overcharge. The manager, however, seemed to think I was trying to scam him, insisting I walk and show him the sign where the bread was actually posted at $1.99. As if I'm going to try and scam sprouts out of $.50! The cashier sent someone to check the posted price of the cherries. They were indeed $2 cheaper than the price at which they had rung up at the register. No apology or expression of concern whatsoever from the manager. No indication that they were going to remove the signs or adjust the prices in the system to correspond with the signs, as required by law. So if you bought red cherries or a petit boule loaf recently, you were probably overcharged as I doubt the electronic register just changed the price for me! For a company that prides itself on excellent customer service, this was a joke bordering on the offensive. Fortunately, there's a trader Joes around the corner, where the customer is still generally, if not always, right. read more

Biggest complaint... few times lately, we order for pickup and they order gets cancelled or delayed (sometimes to the next day) because they don't have the staff. If you have to pay more to run the programs you offer, then do what it takes. ‍ Otherwise, don't offer pickup. At their prices, they should be able to hire some reliable shoppers. read more

I used to love this store. Would go out of my way to shop there, even tho they are a bit pricey and there are much closer markets. It is still a great store, but I was very upset that they allowed people with TWO big dogs to roam the store. The dogs were leashed, but one was bigger than a German Shepherd, and the other not much smaller. Long hair and curious, sniffing and even licking things while the owners were oblivious. One staff member did step up and ask them to move away from the bulk bins, but it was too late. Believe me, I will NEVER buy anything from the bulk area again. Yuck. Dog slobber on my chocolate covered almonds? No thanks. I get it that stores are trying to be nice to customers, but this was offensive. You can't get peanuts on airplanes because some people are allergic. Can we not recognize that some people are allergic to, or afraid of, "fur babies?" This was not a hot day, so the dogs would have been fine in a car for 20 mins or so. And when there are multiple people, one should stay outside! Gah! This is getting out of hand, and places need to step up their enforcement of animal policies. I'm fine with outdoor patio dining places, and legit service animals anywhere. But I do not like them licking my food! Not to mention possible disease transmission to the other pet supplies in the store. Sorry, Sprouts, but like a local Trader Joe's, I'm going to have to avoid you until I hear you have changed your pet enforcement policies. read more

Sadly, San Clemente does not have a Whole Foods, and the Trader Joe's parking lot is way too stressful, so I have gone to Sprouts for my grocery needs to find organic, grass fed, non gmo, no bull crap chemicals, and relatively healthy food items for quite some time now. However, I have been disappointed time and time again with their skyrocketing prices, lack of items, questionable meat, fish, and poultry vendors, and NOW horrible change of music. I can deal with the every so often not having the regular items I buy, and I can even deal with the quality of their vendors in steaks, fish, and chicken. But when you charge more for less quality, or continually not having sufficient vendors to supply an adequate stock or quality products, AND you change the music to where not only am I frustrated with not finding what I need but also irritated by the whining, annoying, and IQ dropping songs playing overhead, that's the LAST STRAW. I miss the days where you could hear a wide range of musical genres. 00s 90s 80s 70s 60s and occasionally "today" music where the variety made the shopping experience pleasant for everyone of any age bracket. Now it's just catered to the music of today, which in my opinion appeals to the generations that aren't necessarily the ones actually buying the groceries because they're still relying on mommy and daddy for their food. I used to walk in and say, yes! This is the one store that uses a decent music playlist! I can shop happily and keep my frustrations low even when they don't have my items. Sadly this is no longer the case, and there really isn't much that keeps me shopping here anymore. That's is all. read more
