I don't usually shop here, but I bought a drink and thanks to pregnancy needed to make a quick restroom stop. What I walked into felt less like a bathroom and more like a crime scene that hadn't been investigated in days. Sticky pee on the seats, a smell that lingered, and toilet paper everywhere. Meanwhile, people are buying groceries from this store? I understand things get busy, but having someone check the restrooms hourly would save future customers (and their noses). This store has gone from bad to WORSE. Its a mess, crowded and understocked. UsualIy only one checker, mostly self check., No box persons. I don't usually shop there but yesterday was in a hurry and it's close by. Checker was too busy talking to his co-workers, and asking for a break. He did not greet me or even acknowledge my presence. It's just not a good store. Seems they often don't have what I can in for based on their own website or circular. Either sold out or they never had it. They don't offer a rain check. I usually shop Albertsons when I'm home so I pretty familiar with their set up. We stopped by to fill our hotel fridge with goodies to snack on... this particular store is less than a mile from the beach... it's a old store in need of updating in the Deli area. I ordered a couple of sandwiches, mine were good but I over heard a employee tell a customer if she wants toasted bread to go to subway across the street.... I didn't realize that Albertsons deli's don't have fountain drinks until I started looking for one..... this store could make a killing on anything cold during the summer and anything warm during the cold raining season. I found a cold box with a bottle of Coke, and a big bag of chips so I was good.... but just think if they had a variety of items similar to these ready for customers each day that they could grab & go! $$$$ for the store and convenience for the customer! In the time since I posted it, I have spoken to 3 different people including the overall store manager where this took place and today the district manager. I want to stress how professional and understanding they all were about my complaint. The situation should never happened or been handeled that way on Saturday, but the way it has been adressed since has been refreshing. This review is solely for one of the employees whose job it is to collect the carts and bring them back from the parking area to the Albertsons store at Del Obispo in Dana Point: White man, dirty blonde, looks like a middle-aged surfer and always wears sunglasses. Might be on the spectrum or have had a head injury at some point. Anyway, yesterday I went to Albertsons to pick up a prescription because I am miserably sick with COVID. Let me repeat - I already have Covid. Now, because I didn't want anyone else in the store getting Covid from me, I wore a mask. Not to protect ME, but to protect YOU. As I walked towards the entrance, I passed by the cart collector with the possible learning challenge and when he noticed me and my mask, he very audibly started coughing. I ignored him in the off chance his little performance was actually just the weird way he coughed, plus I already felt like crap, had a headache and no energy to deal with this idiot. So I got my prescription, (and let me say the pharmacy gets 5 stars as they are always friendly) and headed out to my car. Sure enough, the dimwitted blonde cart-collector man saw me and suddenly started coughing again. Really? Do I need this shit from some cart man-boy when I already feel horrible. If you are at your place of employment and mock customers who are wearing a mask to protect others, then someone needs to sit this guy down and explain how he represents the company while he wears their name badge. I don't care what your stupid political point of view about mask-wearing is. Seriously, who cares? But when you are at work and mock customers, well, that's how you lose customers. This place is just a rip off, period. Crooks without a conscience. I just spent 15 dollars on a solid piece of gristle. The butcher who packaged that should be fired. Of course, I spent 60 bucks for wine, potatoes, sour cream, chives, everything for a lovely dinner. I am left sick and angry and stuck with the bill. They advertise products on InstaCart but 1/2 the items aren't in stock so they are BAIT AND SWITCHING anyone who uses Instacart. To add to their sliminess, they add 2-4 bucks or more on every food item that you buy using Instacart delivery!! So in Dana Point where most folks are retired and elderly, they are PROFITING OFF THE DISABLED!! I DO NOT recommend this store for anything. read more

We had the best experience here. The deli manager Nathan made us feel like family and gave us the best recommendations on meats cheeses and pasta salads made by Albertsons. He is the best, extremely professional, very knowledgeable and always makes us feel special. We come to Albertsons twice a week now to see Nathan and get his recommendations for deli meats and breads and pasta salads. He is truly incredible. We love this store. I just went in for some energy drinks in the morning and while standing in line the cashier, Karina, was making hateful jokes about transgender people at ~9:45 am with a customer in front of me. They were previously having a conversation about the right to die laws and Karina without no prompting says, "at least we can still call transactions trans, a couple tr*nnies". she seemed to be in a managerial position giving instructions to others. First of all, I'm surprised that I would leave a Yelp review for any type of chain grocery stores, except for Gelson's which I truly love. However, I had the most unexpected and surprisingly outstanding experience at this Albertson's. I was looking for a 7 layer dip that I needed for a dish I'm making tonight. I'd asked my roommate to pick up a couple of containers yesterday. She checked 4 stores and they were out. I'd heard Albertson's had a good one so I called up the store in Dana Point. Much to my surprise, Richard, the manager answered the phone. What?! Usually a cashier or service associate answers. Anyway I asked him about the dip. He then asked if I wanted their in-house freshly made dip or the ready made prepared one. Wait. What!? You mean I have a choice? He said they were out of the prepared but would see what was in stock, He came back 2 minutes later and asked if I wanted the small or large containers. I was really getting happy about the way the call was going. He said he'd hold them for me under my name. These were not big ticket items but he went above and beyond what most stores would do! Very disappointed on Albertsons bakery in Dana Point (Del Obispo and Stonehill). I ordered special cupcakes for my class to be ready this morning at 7 AM. I went in the store and I was told the decorator doesn't come in until 8:00 am, of course, order of cupcakes were not ready, not an apology, the person said I don't know why they keep scheduling it for pick up at 7:00 am, if they don't start to work until later. I usually go here because it is a convenient location, however after today I will not be back. The employees stood by, and even encouraged, another customer who was harassing me. They were quick to jump behind the other male customer when they assumed I was wrong, however once it was clear he was acting inappropriately they were silent. I should have waited for the cops to show up, but I did not feel safe being there anymore. Disgusting and juvenile behavior from the employees. So I've been using this pharmacy for a few year's now but enough is enough. Always rude and i gave the benefit of the doubt cause we all have bad days. I called last night to find out about my prescription and the young man said that they were short handed and to call in the morning when they open. So i called this morning to be told to call back in 30mins so i did. Them She said She hasn't had time to call my insurance to find or why it wasn't being covered. I literally live across the street from this store and will never shop there again. Every time a walk in this store, and it's a lot as I live across the street, there is 1 checker only and a long line to buy anything. Only reason I gave 2 stars is they have moved some people around lately to not have such depressing clerks. Please hire another checker or install self checkout. I've been shopping here for 10 years. This is the greatest grocery store on the planet. Their produce is amazing! Beautifully displayed and always fresh. Im floored at some of the bad comments I've read, because the greatest part of this store are the employees! Everyone is so nice and helpful. It's a family feel here. You don't feel like a number.
