Bravo, Smart & Final, you've won back my business! About three months ago I posted a review and shared that the loitering in the parking lot made me feel unsafe. I shopped here again yesterday and was pleased to see a clean and safe parking lot. THANK YOU! I'm such a fan of your stores and brand, so am really excited to be able to use my local store again. I shopped on a super hot Saturday afternoon, so had the store to myself. I completed my weekly shopping trip and found everything I was looking for. The grocery costs were significantly lower than the local competition I've been shopping with this past year. I did purchase many of the Smart & Final brands. The really exciting price coup? The San Merican Tomatoes were on sale for only $2.49 a can (buy 4). That's $4 less per can than my normal grocery and $3.51 cheaper than a global delivery company. Of course I had to stock up on this NYT Wirecutter best tasting canned tomato. As usual, the store was tidy, displays easy to access and the cashier's so friendly. I like this store, I buy the best turkey mince there, 99% meat. The most delicious. Bubble tea for children appeared. We buy ice cream, a large selection. In the photo, the store was decorated like this. read more

James always goes above and beyond to help me and every other customer, when he is on register he is a very fast scanner and bagger and he still can hold a conversation in order to ask me if I found everything okay and ask how my day is going. When he isn't on register and he is busy doing other things his head is practically on a swivel in order to find an out of place item, or to find a customer in need of help, I have on more than one occasion seen him go out of his way to help a shorter customer reach an item from a high shelf and much more helpful things. James is by far the reason I keep going back. read more

Came in for a few things today and had Cameron "mr positive" as my cashier he was even so kind to help me load my car as a had sone heavy items he is amazing and definitely deserves a raise. awesome customer service. Thank you again read more

Be very careful with the produce and cheese! I saw rotting produce including mushrooms that should have been tossed about two weeks ago. I bought a bag of Kraft shredded cheese and when I got it home half the bag was completely molded. It was disgusting! Double and triple check before you buy! Also, understaffed and there's a possibility of getting harassed in the parking lot. read more

Do you like Costco sizes and Walmart prices? This store falls somewhere in the middle and there's no membership fee. Most prices beat out your local grocery store, especially with bulk items. The store is super clean, impeccably organized, and stocked with a friendly staff that pays attention to the common sense of opening another register when the lines start getting long. Normally I would give this place a four star rating since a little of the produce selection looked less than stellar and the vegetarian/vegan section was virtually nonexistent. But since this store has literally given an entire neighborhood a face lift in a big way, it's become five star worthy. read more

Horrible people in the store I've only been in the store maybe less than five times and every single time the cashiers are rude there's no One ever on the floor to ask for items I am disabled and I'm just treated so rudely they throw your things in a bag and push you out of the way and start to help another customer literally my things were still on the counter before they were helping somebody else and pushing my bags to the side and this happens every single time I come into the store won't be shopping here ever again. read more

I am pained to do this. S&F is a great chain - good prices, great service and excellent non-food items (cups, etc.) BUT you have to BOYCOTT this entire chain. They do not allow normal people to shop. I face discrimination very time I try to enter. I am actively excluded from entering. I am not a mask person - I am normal and S & F will NOT let me shop there. They have spurious claim of health that is - based on ALL available scientific evidence total nonsense. Help me - help yourself. Stop allowing businesses to promote fear and brainwashing. read more

Four stars because the half and half creamer I bought was spoiled. Other than that, I was impressed by their selection that I haven't seen at other grocery stores, such as pickled eggs. Almond butter. They have a good selection of bin foods such as steel cut oaks, almonds, nuts, gummy bears, yogurt pretzels, and the like. It was my first time shopping at Smart & Final because I always assumed they had non-refrigerated type of food like office snacks. I was wrong. They had USDA Select NY too sirloin steaks for a lot less than what you pay per pound at Bel Air. Chicken breasts were 1.69 a pound. The lowest price I've seen for chicken breasts was 99 cents a pound, but I have seen those kind of sales in a long time. Triscuits and Wheat Thins were 2.50 a box. That was their standard price, which is a good deal. Nice produce section. Also, they have toilet paper and paper towels in large quantities, so you might want to reconsider that Costco membership. Just saying. All in all, you buy everything that you need for dinner at this store. read more

This store has everything to offer at a reasonable price. Only thing I wish they have more selections of Seafood such as Fresh Shrimps, Lobster tails, etc. Highly recommended to shop here. read more

Here's a shout out to Smart and Final on Fair Oaks in Carmichael. After calling and dropping by several stores and searching online, that is the only place I found eight ounce paper hot beverage cups! Since our citizens are routinely trashing the environment, I so appreciated finding an environmentally friendly product! Kudos! read more

Im just so happy that they put a Smart and Final in our neighborhood. Costco was too expensive and thier supply always appeared low. Sam's Club was cheaper than costco, but even though Sam's was cheaper, has a better selection, has MUCH nicer, better trained employees. read more

This place is always understaffed. Long lines with only one cashier most times...They have some good deals but the lines are a very big deterrent from coming in here. read more

Staff is dope! Thanx! They were supper helpful. I was in rush and. They got me what I needed fast and I got out of there quick.

They never have more than two cashiers at a time and the line always has 5 to 6 people and its never a quick trip. Went to get strawberries and saw that there were multiple packs of moldy strawberries on the shelf. I told a stockboy that was nearby and he just nodded and continued doing what he was doing. If i didnt live so close to this place i wouldn't be spending my money here. read more

This store is great for buying in bulk, good prices. However, they don't have a lot of products another grocery store would. I was also not very happy with their produce and wouldn't go back for produce. Staff is very friendly and the store is nice and clean. Overall, a lot of the items are cheaper then other stores which can really save you a lot of money in the long run! read more

Absolutely love that they put a location here. Now instead of walking to Belair or Safeway I can easily go here without having to walk that far. Nevar shopped at a smart and final prior to the one opening here but I'm quite impressed! read more

This place is where the old Price-Less used to be way back in the day. When they closed, it used to be a place for the homeless and drug-addicts to squat at. Thank goodness Smart and Final came in and made a difference to our community! The store is well taken care of, clean and I only hope Big-Lots can follow suit!! They even re-planted trees and flowers which makes the parking lot nicer too!! Great place!! read more

I liked it. You have to know your prices to know what is best for your wallet but being a budget minded person I found items that I use regularly at a good price. The store was clean & the staff was super friendly (when I asked the question the lady who worked there wasn't for sure and was ready to go ask someone before I stopped her, it wasn't that important at the time). I shop at this store from time to time. If you keep an eye out for there ads they often have really good deals. i really enjoy their baked goods and they have good prices on meat as well. There customer service is really good always willing to help locate something or if they don't have it they will order it. read more

I shop in this Smart and Final often and I have always found the items I need and the staff very helpful. However, today I entered the store behind a woman who was putting her medium size dog in the cart ahead of me. Someone leaving the store told her that no dogs were allowed per the sign on the door and health code. She ignored the woman and continued. I reported this to one of my favorite checkers. The woman with the dog continued to shop and then I encountered another woman with a small dog in her cart shopping. So, when I was checking out, I pointed these women out to the same checker and he said he had reported it to the manager. He made another phone call right away, but no one ever confronted these women. This is against health code and store policy and really troubles me. Dogs do NOT belong in grocery stores. read more

I am going to give this place 2 stars :( The produce did not look that great, and when I ask the gentleman (Matthew) if he had avacados that were not so hard he said in a very condesending tone that he did not have it, then he walk over to the bulk bins opened it and used his hands to pick out some candy. As he walked off eating the candy (GROSS)!!!, he became engaged in a conversation with another associate about drinking. There are always long lines with few cashiers. Makes me not even want to go there. Once after the cashier had rung me up and I paid, he actually said to me, " It would go faster if you help pack your groceries." Ummmm......isn't that YOUR job?! I don't know what has happened to customer service at this location. I've heard one cashier argue with a customer over a rain check and have had the same cashier bitterly complain about Trump to me, while another cashier seems to feel the need to tell me everything going on in his life. I'm sorry....I'm not your therapist! Could we just get some quality service please?! read more

Variety and prices are great. Without fail, everytime I proceed to check out there is one maybe two registers open and a line at least 5 deep. I am done with this store. I would rather pay more at Bel Air. read more
