Today's visit was much better than the last time. We stopped in while we were at the UPS Store in the same shopping center. We were able to visit the dry goods, produce, dairy, frozen, and condiments areas with no issues. All areas were well stocked. I noticed that there was a store staff member who was restocking shelves and displays with items, which was good. They have a copy key machine, a CA Lottery vending machine, a lot of pretty floral bouquets, large green houseplants, balloons, Halloween everything, and many different ice cream products. Customer service is absolutely unacceptable here. -Asked 1 Asian male worker if we can have some help, but responded with "I don't know I'm on my break" -Asked 2 other Hispanic workers (one male and one female) for help and they said they'd look in the back. Both walking super slow, just talking to one another. And as they're walking back to the floor, they're STILL walking super slow, conversing about their personal lives. They walk right past us and eye contact was NOT made. Confused at the fact that they walked right past us, so we had to ask politely again. All they responded with was "no" and that was it. No explanation, no nothing. Just kept walking past us. My mother is a senior who deserved no disrespect at all - she was just needing help. We were polite and simply needed help. If they are so miserable at work, then why be there? Find another job. I watch the two workers walk away from us and I see the female pull out her phone texting away. Nice. I wouldn't suggest going to this location at all. Just a bunch of disrespectful young kids working. read more

Stopping in this Smart & Final was for some Jone's Turkey Breakfast Sausage for a recipe of sausage stuffed mushrooms I was making later in the day. They had what I needed for a really good price of $1.79 for a one pound frozen tube. A pretty good deal if you ask me. I also picked up some unrelated mangoes for at two for $1 another fair price. They were good size mangoes too. A few needed to be removed due to over ripeness. I browse a little further done the meat aisle, bread aisle, and the rest of the produce department which was quite small compared to most Smart & Finals and being an "Extra." As I browsed, I could not help notices that the store was in a need of some organizing and cleaning, especially around the meat department. Love coming here for the cheap prices Like what others say, if you don't have a Costco card, smart and final is your go to place. They have wholesale stuff for cheaper price. They sell muffins, milk, eggs, frozen food, pretty much a little bit of everything! For parties, this is your go to place for candy and chips. Sometimes they have really good sales and you don't need a card or anything to get the good deals and cheap prices they offer. For fruits, I would say it is decent priced here. But meat has a good prices sometimes. Lines can get long since there seems to be always one cashier person when I shop. But they always end up having another cashier person for back up. This isn't a bad option compared to Target, Walmart, or even the Mexican markets. Stuff is here is a little pricier but the store is clean and stocked for all the basics for your grocery needs. The store is pretty clean during covid, however the two stars are because I was looking for beyond meat or impossible burger to purchase. I asked the cashier she said neither is carried in store, I let her know I've purchased before...she apologized and instead of finding someone to help I had to ask her to page someone to help me. The supervisor then looked for about 20 seconds and also said it wasn't in store. Guess what I found in the frozen section. All of this could have been avoided by checking the system for the products currently, I wasn't worth the effort I suppose. I will take my business and my entire family to a different location. I like to shop here from time to time when Im looking to buy certain things in the larger sizes such as coffee creamer, sodas & the like. I also appreciate the fact that they sell my favorite BBQ sauce KC Masterpiece in the large 1 gallon containers which eliminates the need for me to buy 3 small bottles for a typical BBQ session in the back yard. The employees are helpful & friendly & the store is always well organized & clean. I would recommend this store to anyone who needs anything in the larger sizes that are not typically carried in the other markets. read more

I'm really liking this store. They post coupons on their facebook site, which helps you get 20% off when you buy $50 worth or more. I like how they sell a lot of stuff in bulk. I can buy a 25lb. bag of brown rice for only $8.99... They also have these big bags of different kinds of cheeses, my favorite is the grated mozarella, a 5lb. bag for $12.99. Constraints on my time, fail to make me to mention everything else this store offers, from bulk paper plates and cups to a host of other items. They also have a nice selection of veggies and fruits. Store is constantly dirty, I have seen roaches a few times by the food section when I have gone. What made it for me to stop going is seeing someone (store employee) sneeze by the food section and letting the morning manager know. He didn't remove the food that was sneezed on. I used to go to the one off El Cajon now I call this location home. The have a huge grocery section and everything you need if your throwing parties or have a small business. The reason I'm able to throw amazing parties is partly due to smart n final. I get my storage containers for guest to take take home plates, plates to make fruit and veggie trays, containers to make Jell-O shots, and all the snacks need to get them threw each month. For those of us you don't have costco cards this is our go to place. Especially when planning a party or cooking for large groups. Saves so much $$ then going to retail brand stores such as ralphs, vons, albertsons.. I usually get chicken, ground beef and artichoke hearts from here.. Always long and very sloowwwwww lines, sale items from add are always out of stock by the weekend. Last time I came and the item was out of stock, they denied me a rain check but offered me to pre-pay for the item and keep coming back till the item was instock. Which took a week and a half and two trips to the store. The cashiers for the most part are very nice. The people stocking items seem to be very busy to listen to the customer who couldn't find an item and never came back to help. I give the store one star, and that's cause the nice young gentleman who was cashiering apologized for the long lines. How about a manager opening more lanes??? Ever heard at that smart & final?? The store was clean enough, but variety/selection was lacking. I have both a Sam's and Costco card and sometimes just don't want to deal with the crowds so I shop elsewhere.
